Whew, we made it to the weekend! 🙂
In the wee hours of the morning a freak thunderstorm struck the Bay Area. It was kind of scary — bursts of lightning flashing across the bedroom walls in my little apartment, and thunder rattling the windows and blinds.
I got worried about Tabs, who was outside working the night shift, so I asked El Hub to go outside and look for him.
El Hub found the little guy cowering in the woods next to the building, crying and mewling. He was crouched low to the ground, looking up at the sky as loud thunder roared.
Poor little guy!
Sucks when your little kitty brain doesn’t understand high pressure systems…
The storm passed early this morning, so I’m off to run some errands. Gotta look at carpet and laminate flooring, two things I have absolutely no clue about.
How’s it going this weekend? Whatever you’re up to, I hope you get some time to do something fun. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Hi Karen!
oooh have you ordered your Chanel Jade? I’m such a sucker for the Chanel Polish (am wearing Intermezzo as I type), I really hope this colour is being released here in the UK if not, it will be a lot of hours scouring for a good deal on ebay!

Awww poor Tabs! When my bunnychan hears thunders she gets nervous too. It’s kind of fun because she actually can smell storms! She stands up looking at the window and moving her little nose like “Uhm…something weird this way comes”
Hehe!
Thanks for the mention on your surfing post! I’m off to check the other links 😀

Poor Tabs!! I think the animals around here are accustomed to the changing weather every season. I can’t wait for True Blood’s season finale tomorrow night!! You got me hooked on it again. For some inexplicable reason, I stopped watching it after the third episode of the first season, but I’m addicted now. The last episode was hilarious, which I totally didn’t expect! I can’t wait for Bill and Eric to fight over Sookie again 😉

That thunder & lightning was sure a surprise. I thought I was dreaming for a bit. My weekend is going to be chill. Looking forward to tomorrow night to watch True Blood. I also gotta get organized because I am going to be in LA for two weeks for work and need to figure out what I am going to do while I there (besides work). I leave in two weeks,,, is it to soon to start packing?

That storm was pretty crazy! Poor little Tabs! Way to go El Hub! 😀
Thanks for the heads-up, I just ordered Jade! Yummmmm!

Poor Tabs! I’m hoping it’ll rain here soon. The humidity is killing me here. Zena is whining and side-crawling on the floor next to me trying to garner my attention.
I just looked at the photo of Chicago and thought, “Where have I seen that before? Oh yea, it was a boat tour of Chicago on the Chicago River. I remember doing that…when I first came here.” The boat tours are huge tourist traps here. I mean, HUGE tourist trap. There’s usually only three or four boats running at a time and the tour is about an hour. The bridge your seeing is the Michigan Avenue Bride (the bridge you see 99% in ER) and the big building on the right (the one that says Trump) is the Trump International Hotel and Tower. The building on the left (the one that is orange) 35 East Wacker Drive Building. The yellow boat is a water taxi! I don’t suggest doing the boat tour if you’re prone to seasickness though. The Chicago River can be really choppy.

Carpet and laminate, huh? Does that mean the home issue is getting closer to being resolved, moreso in a positive way for you and yours? I hope so…no tips on the aphids vs. tomatoes issue. I cheat: my neighbor started a small garden this year, and when I see him, I lean over the fence and say, “Wow! GREAT-looking tomatoes…they look delicious!” Did I mention I also have my hand open and wiggle my eyebrows? LOL I love storms, but the loud noise and light show upsets the kids. I’m heading out with my youngest sis (she’s in her final year at Univ. of Mich) for a beauty appointment 2morrow. She has been wanting to get the “dip-dyeing” trend done to her hair. Blue tips! She saw Drew Barrymore with it, and now wants it more! We’ll see how it turns out! 🙂

Awwww poor Tabs! My pup is the same way with thunder and lightening… he sits and shakes. Even though we’re on the opposite sides of the world right now, if I hear thunder my first instinct is to find him and hug him.

aww, Karen, I thought you had made Tabs an indoor kitty! Please reconsider and keep him indoors – he’ll get used to it and be safer and healthier!

I just saw this, thank you so much for the shout out! Yes, I miss Chicago, I actually kinda like it better than New York *don’t kill me new yorkers* 🙂
