Saturday Surfing

September 4th, 2010 by Karen 8 Comments

Hey, lady! How’s it going today? What are you up to? I’ve been up for a while but just not in front of the computer (for a change). Tabs was actually using it to write another email to MAC. He still hasn’t heard back from the company. 🙂

The stress of potential litigation is getting to him, too, because he’s been acting out lately. Dang cat has even taken to BITING THE CRAP OUT OF ME in frustration. It’s how he got me out of bed this morning — with a series of bites to my chin. I hope both parties settle out of court soon…

Did ya do anything fun last night? The highlight of my evening was the cup of coconut frozen yogurt (topped with blueberries and strawberries) that I ate for dinner while watching the most recent Project Runway online. No spoilers (the comments, however, are fair game), but what did you think of the dresses by Michael C. and Mondo?

And speaking of the show, haven’t the contestants been cranky this season? Seems like their claws are always out, and it’s flat-out getting on my nerves.

Anywho, right now I’m getting ready to head into San Francisco to see Dreamgirls with El Hub. The boy asked me totally out of the blue last week. I know, right? I’m shocked (but delighted)! 🙂 I haven’t been to a musical in years, and I must say I’m really looking forward to it.

Before I go, can you catch some e-waves with me? Come on, the water looks perfect!

I had frozen yogurt for dinner last night too — it was vanilla with mochi in it!

Weve been lazy today. We just had lunch at a Greek place (I had salad and calamari) … and weve been reading and doing nothing.

Oh of course you know im going to be all over the UD Jackpot sets! 😀

Hey Karen! How are you? I’ve just read the article about men wearing make up and um, it still sounds crazy. I mean, I can totally put up with a little concealer but tinted moisturizer or lash/brow gel? Yeah, don’t think so. Because I think the line between correcting and beautifying is very thin and easy to cross. Actually, I’m used to men grooming (my grandfather “handsomize”s himself every morning :D) but more in a Godfather sort of way, you know, shaving, putting on a lotion or creme, combing hair and wearing cologne. And personally, I’d like it to stay that way. But on the other hand, what if a man has skin impurities or severe dark circles or smt like that? Is a little bit of concealer enough for this? I know make up has nothing to do with sexes but I can’t help feeling it’s more of a woman thing. Oh well.

Oh for the love of tiny pants, please do not let treggings become a thing. As for jeggings? They were silly when my best friend had them waaaaay back in 5th grade (she even had a hilariously silly song about them), and they are no less silly now!

Have fun at the theatre! Tonight I think we are going for a late, late dinner & milkshake at a greasy diner after Mark gets home and does his workout.

Have fun tonight and I loooove Cee-Lo! Have you heard his song “F*** You” yet? I know it’s rude, but it is just so honest (in a horribly wonderful but rude way) His voice is the shizz-nit!

    mmmm…..I missed frozen yogurt! 😛

Sephora came out with the PINK BCA palette???? Awwww……. again, I miss it! I didn’t see it in any Sephora I went to when I was in the US. Instead I grabbed a whole bunch of the Color Bronze palette. Would gladly purchase the PINK palette had I seen them. ‘Cos it’s PINK and for BCA…….

I’m a little surprised by how catty the contestants have been on Project Runway this season, since it’s still so early in the competition for that. Usually, they don’t start clawing at each other until it’s the top 5 or so. haha

I really did not care for Micheal C.’s dress at all, and I do not get what the judges saw in it. 🙁 I didn’t like all the draping going every which way, or the “fake pocket” part. Mondo’s dress, on the other hand, was fab! I feel like he’s underrated right now among the judges. He and Andy are my favorites so far.

My old kitten used to bite my chin all the time! Irritating! I used to flick her nose and she would just flinch after biting my chin.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
