Saturday Surfing

June 19th, 2010 by Karen 14 Comments

It’s already after noon… I wonder how that happened.

So how was your Friday night? Did you do anything fun? I stayed in, fried up some Trader Joe’s chicken chow mein for din din and rented Dear John on iTunes. Oh, yeah, I nearly burst at the seams from excitement. ‘Twas almost too much to bear (ha ha)!

Dear John turned out to be a nice surprise. I wasn’t expecting much beforehand, I mean, with Channing Tatum in a serious role. Boy is FOINE, but he ain’t exactly Toby MG when it comes to acting, ya know?

I thought he and Amanda Seyfried had pretty good on-screen chemistry, though, and it wasn’t a completely typical soundtrack-driven romance. There was some depth to the characters, and I gotta give props to the director, Lasse Hallstrom, too, because of how well it’s filmed (same guy who did Chocolat and An Unfinished Life).

All I want to do this afternoon is relax… If I have it in me later I may go for a walk, but even that may take more effort than I care to exert. I’ve been feeling kinda tired and run down since Wednesday.

Tabs is here with me. He says, “mrow.” He’s watching an episode of True Blood right now and is convinced he’s a vampire. He keeps gesturing with his paw to his fangs, like, “See! See!”

Before I join him on the couch, you wanna catch a few waves together first?

Just got home from spending the day w/ my older sister and my aunt. We roamed the mall where I got some foot cream from Bath and Body Works (semi annual witwoo!) … the hubs has been secretly raiding my stash! LOL.

Im looking for a pair of tan/brown wedges to wear to a graduation party in July … I found a pair I liked from Clarks but did not fall in love. The search continues … might hit Marshalls tomorrow for that. 🙂

I was looking at those cream eyeshadows from Maybelline … didnt buy. I was good. Plus I did get a new MAC Blush in Breezy that I LOVE!!!

    Hey Karen,
I hope you’re having a good weekend. Thanks for the lovely link about make up for girls with glasses, unfortunately I’m one of ’em 🙂 I’ve been feeling reaally tired and worn out for the whole week too, I wonder if it has smt to do with the weather. I’m trying to eat more fruits and less carbs to raise my energy level but it seems to do nothing. Weird, huh.. The law about Pi in Indiana really made me curious by the way 😀 Say hi to tabs for me! Aand I’m off to bed (damn tiredness)…

      Hi Nina,

My weekend has been good so far. I hope yours has been just peachy!

Regarding glasses… I’m one of those girls, too! 🙂

Hope you’re having a nice evening so far. What are you up to? I’m going to make dinner, drink some wine and watch True Blood.

I love Corinne! Her first album is a classic and her most recent is a real chill and fun sophmore album. That song is my favorite too! Hands down. That chick is just so real, feminine, soulful and just plain cool.

Btw Sade has some really pretty songs on her new album. You should check it out when you want to relax with a glass of wine.

      Hi Vanessa,

That’s the Soldier of Love album, right? I’ve heard a couple of songs and they’re so good!

Yes. “Soldier of Love” is a good one but the album “Love Deluxe” is the b o m b! There are so many pretty songs on that album that even my husband loves. Some good romantic sexy mood music -wink wink 😉

I hate, HATE, HATE Make Up Forever eye liners… even when i put primer they smudge and get all over the place, I would NOT recommend.

      Hi Masi,

I suppose that it’s one of those things that you either love/don’t love. I’ve had okay luck with ’em.

      What liners do you like?

Thanks for the link about cat enclosures aka “catios”! It’s a responsible way to keep our kitties safe while allowing them to enjoy the outdoors.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
