Saturday Surfing

March 6th, 2010 by Karen 16 Comments

Congratulations all around, ladies! We made it to Saturday. 🙂 I’ve been trying to ease up on my coffee intake lately (been on a tea kick), but I give myself a pass on Saturdays. It’s amazing how something as small as a latte can make the day feel special, like a reward for making it through the week in one piece.

Before I go get my Starbucks on, do you have time for a little Saturday surfing?

I’m getting the itch to travel (and skateboard)

What do ya got going on today? I’m basically running errands (post office, grocery store and Target)… Maybe I can squeeze in a run if the inspiration strikes.

Have a most excellent Saturday!

Karen

Love Heather’s song! She does have a pretty voice, very soulful. And you KNOW her makeup looks good!

On a separate note, I don’t think I’d want to smell like Jennifer Aniston…Celeb perfumes are a bit out of control.

LOL… yeah, it seems like every celeb has a scent. I miss the days when the only two people hawking fragrance were Cher and Elizabeth Taylor.

Debbie Gibson was in there pretty early too (not of Cher/Liz type of fame though). Did you ever smell Electric Youth? I always imagined it smelled like Bubble Yum and zit cream!

OMG those felt cat caves are adorable. Now I must quickly leave the moderncat website, lest I lose an hour to clicking, oohing and awwing. (one last peak!)

    Happy Saturday!

The Oatmeal site cracks me up. I had no idea how awesome Heather was. I ended up buying her first CD and it’s so good!

I am running errands today. Such a nice day in SF!

It’s nice up here too! The sun is out and it’s warm enough to walk around without a jacket.

Got any exciting plans for the evening?

    Karen,

I am so excited for the MAC Pret a Papier collection…this new image has the packaging looking like paper….wouldn’t that be cool if it REALLY did look like that ?!? And, I love the H&M summer stuff. I am so excited with the anticipation that hopefully by Christmas, I will NO LONGER need to shop at the Avenue or Lane Bryant!!

Funny thing…..you’re on the west coast, I’m on the east coast and we spent this Saturday doing….THE EXACT SAME THING!!! LOL!

I got up early this morning, when to the post office, the dry cleaners, the UPS Store (to ship back a package), then to Target (where I was underwhelmed….no Liberty of London to be found….maybe I was too anxious?) and finally to Trader Joe’s, where I did some shopping and got, amongst other things–some HUMUNGO strawberries, some crumpets and some Snap-Peas to snack on this week. I’m trying to kick start the healthier eating since surgery is 3 weeks away!!

I agree about some of the celeb perfumes, but I just love the new Paris Hilton one, it’s SO good… even if the name is a bit trashy and I don’t want people I bump into to know what it is, lol! I used to really enjoy the jLo Glow perfume.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
