Saturday Surfing

February 6th, 2010 by Karen 46 Comments

Heya, ladies. 🙂 How’s your Saturday coming along?

I dragged myself out of bed kinda early this morning to putter around the house, and now I’m just getting ready to meet a friend for lunch (do you know Marisol?).

Can you catch some waves with me before you go?

  • I’m diggin’ the mix of greens and browns in Sephora’s Colorful Artist Palette in Warm ($32).
  • Are you a Kat Von D fan with an extra $425 sitting around?

I may not understand a word these girls are saying, but I still loooove this song…

Dear Chris Cornell, I forgive you for lining your lower lashline, but only because yer sexy and can sing. 🙂

Did anyone else want to be Lisa Lisa back in the day?

Whatever you’re up to today, I hope you’re having fun!

Karen

DC is INSANE right now — I’m sitting on my butt at home with my kitties because we have over two feet of snow! I’m going to get some work done now (and Tigger has rolled himself up into a little ball right next to me), but I’ve been watching Tivoed reruns of Law and Order with Aisha curled up to my tummy. I feel like I’m the only person over 20 who is excited about the snow: I needed an excuse to stay in and relax! I got 10 hours of sleep last night and it was amazing after a rough week. 😀

Hey L, That sounds like a perfect way to spend a Saturday. I hope you get some good relaxation time in… are there brownies or some kind of sweet treat involved? They are a must for TV marathons with the kittehs. 🙂

Well you did some writing! And plan to make dinner! I ordered pizza, lol. Yes I did get it in, but haven’t used it yet. I think I’ll use it on Monday!

Pasta doesn’t really count… you just boil it and then throw in some red sauce, LOL! We were actually gonna order pizza but were both too lazy to go get it (so cold). What kind did you get? Now I’m craving pepperoni and olive…

          • Tiffany says

            February 6th, 2010 at 6:37 pm

🙂 I love making pasta because it’s so easy! So when we moved into our townhouse in Nov of 2007 I was devastated to realize that no one (papa johns, pizza hut, dominoes) delivers to us. And I live in the middle of a major city! But anyway, like last month I found a non-chain, more expensive but more delicious place that actually delivers to us! It’s been like a huge treat to be able to order delivery again, LOL. Anyway, I got a white pizza with ricotta, mozzarella, garlic, herbs, etc. and hubby got a calzone 🙂

It’s been so cold and rainy here – that’s why I never feel like doing anything on the weekends recently – I’d rather stay in my home!

          • Karen says

            February 6th, 2010 at 9:48 pm

That sounds FREAKING DELICIOUS! Urgh, now I’m gonna have to go get pizza tomorrow…

The rain makes me want to stay inside the cave, for sure. When it’s pouring the only time I’ll head out is if we’re desperate for groceries or toilet paper, ah ha ha!

I finally have time to relax and unwind after 2 all-nighters this week. My body doesn’t know when to stay awake or fall asleep!!

So, until that gets sorted out, I’m watching an old movie, “Working Girl,” because I read a reference to it somewhere. Now THAT is some crazy hair! How’s your weekend? 🙂

I’m glad that you’re getting a little time to relax this weekend. Does this mean you’re out of the intense study zone for a while?

OMG – I so wanted to be Lisa Lisa in the 5th grade! My jam was, “Can You Feel the Beat” and it’s still my favorite. Well it’s between that and “Head to Toe”

I digress….yes I totally stumbled upon that sweet MAC deal at Nordstrom today…I was bringing back my lip gelee, Resort Life when bam my MAC girls hooked me up while they entertained my daughter! I walked away with Girlie, Creme de Violet and Sumptous Olive…I did pretty good since I exchanged my gloss for one, paid for the other and got the third for free. SCORE!

Also I was able to snag OPI’s “Jade is the New Black” at Pure Beauty…yeah as Ice Cube once said…”I gotta say it was a good day!”

*SQUEAL* I LOVE GA-IN FROM BEG! I’ve even seen quite a few tutorials on soompi forums on it (which has a bunch of user tutorials there, though they’re mostly focused towards asians and our eye types.) I love korean pop in general, though.. If you need lyric subs, it’s really easy to find, just add subbed to the search result. Abracadabra’s pretty controversial though, in Korea.

You should try listening to Fire by 2ne1 and watch the video, I love their makeup in that 😀 Also.. Lies or Haru Haru (day by day) by Big Bang. Wedding Dress by Taeyang. And finally.. Sign by BEG, the same girls. I love Narsha’s makeup in this one 🙂 (all these have videos.. if you want to find more, I have at least 100 songs on my iPod x) )
