Saturday Morning Surfing

Saturday morning surfing

  • How to do a crescent manicure in 2 minutes flat — BellaSugar
  • Here’s a quick fix for when you get mascara on your eyeshadow — AllThatGlitters21
  • I want Jessica’s Burlesque Beauty nail polish in Ruffled Bottoms! — Vampy Varnish
  • Avon is still calling — The Independent

Saturday plans?

Do anything fun last night? We watched Public Enemies and it was… eh, okay. I enjoyed ogling J. Depp and C. Bale, but the story kind of dragged. The movie felt about 30 minutes too long. Unless you’re a hard core J. Depp or C. Bale fan, it might make a better rental.

This morning I woke up pre-dawn because Tabs jumped on the bed and plopped smack dab on top of my very full bladder. Yup, good times… I love that cat, but sometimes I suspect he secretly loves to mess with me.

What are you up today? I was going to just do household stuff, but I’d rather hit the Apple store to play with the new iPhone and then head back to the Chanel counter to pick up an Eye Gloss from the new Venice Collection.

Tabs says hi. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’ll be looking for your review of the Chanel Eye Gloss – it’s calling my name!

      Hi Bisbee,

I stopped by the counter yesterday, but they didn’t have one to sell to me! Today I plan on going back… hopefully they’ll have one in stock so that I can review it soon.

      Happy Sunday!

      Hi Gemma,

Yup, I do. I don’t really surf up here in Northern California. The water’s too cold, and I HATE wearing a wetsuit and booties (makes me feel like a sausage). Plus, there’s the whole shark attack thing — YIKES!

Sadly, I only get to surf a few times a year. I go when El Hub and I visit Hawaii, which is where his family is from. How’s the water down in Texas? Is it warm?

Oh no I was so looking forward to drooling over, er I mean watching Public Enemy’s w/my husband but now i’m not so sure after reading this. I’d better hold out for the new Harry Potter opening next week, that looks like it’s going to be a good one 🙂

Well have fun at the shops, I will be doing house chores but then this evening i’m going to have dinner w/an old friend I haven’t seen in a while.

      Hi Michelle,

Yeah, it’s fun for eye candy, but not so much for plot/character. 🙂 Oh! I will probably watch the new Harry Potter on opening day.

How was your dinner with your friend? Was the food yummy?

Same here about Public Enemies Karen. It was only ok, but the eye candy definitely saves it from the scrap heap!

I’ve been packing for London. Holy shit, I’m leaving tomorrow!! I still can’t believe it.
Then this afternoon I went to visit my best friend and hang out, we haven’t seen eachother for like four weeks with exams and me working on my thesis. It was so much fun. We had pancakes and just goofed around and chilled.

i also will be waiting for you review of the eye gloss. the burgundy shade probs won’t work on me but the three other shades probably could!

today cha cha had is first vet visit. he didn’t like the resident pug, and when sniffed puffed up to about 2x his size, hissed, and swatted him! the pug ran away looking absolutely sad (i had a pug, they guilt you into giving them whatever you want that way). he also was a grumpy kitty when he got his nails trimmed by the vet… but afterwards he was a very well-behaved kitty and didn’t throw a fit in the carrier (i suspect the chewy treats the vet gave him had something to do with it).

cha cha also pounces on my bladder but since he doesn’t weigh much (about a pound and a half), it doesn’t bother me… yet. the vet told me he’s probably going to be a HUGE black cat, which i did not know!

Hmm last night I did nothing as per usual for a Friday night. Bummed to hear Public Enemies was just ok, I love both those guys.

Just got back from getting my hair done (ahhhhh fresh roots) and going to Michaels, where I bought a bunch of cupcake decorating items 🙂

      Hi Marmar,

Oh NO! I went to Vitamin Shoppe yesterday and stumbled into their natural pet foods section. They have these lil’ chews for kitties that are supposed to eliminate hair balls. I didn’t buy it; I figure I’d go to the pet store across the street and talk to the people to get a recommendation.

I haven’t seen the movie but my husband did and he said the EXACT same thing – it was 30 min too long.
I spent today picking up some new Yellowbox flip flops (on sale!), got some CND top coat (came highly recommended) and looked for a nice coral lipstick or pigmented lipgloss and have decided that a good CORAL is hard to find! I don’t want to spend a lot until I know it is a good shade for me.
Picked up my twins from a sleepover, went to the pool for a couple of hours, went to visit a friend, now I’m home. And I’m shocked that the Housekeeping and Laundry Fairies did NOT stop by while I was out!

      Hi Beth,

That’s so true! Have you tried MAC’s Lychee Luxe Lipglass or Smashbox Limitless Lip Gloss in Boundless? Those two are probably my favorite coral glosses o’ the moment.

Fajitas — YUM! And fried ice cream… I’m totally drooling. I hope there were margaritas up in the mix, too. 🙂

I just got back from errands and house hunting. How’s your Sunday going?

I hear mixed reviews on that movie. Sounds like I will have to netflix it.

Did you end up purchasing the new iPhone? I know that you recently got yours. I have to wait til December to upgrade mine.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
