To be honest, I don’t think it’s in the cards for me this year. I’m Filipino, and my family will be celebrating tonight and staying up all night long (yes, I sang that like Lionel Richie).
But we literally stay up all night long! I mean, maybe we’ll zonk out at like 1 or 2, but that’s after a whole lot of food, fun and karaoke. By the time Christmas morning rolls around, I can’t handle much. I might brush my teeth (maybe), or sometimes I’ll roll out into the living room with furry teeth and a furry tongue, and that’s totally fine too. When I go to midnight mass, which I used to do more often when I was younger, I will wear some makeup, but it’s been a few years since I’ve done that.
Perhaps in a few years when Connor’s a little older and we get up early to open presents by the Christmas tree, I may put in the effort to stick some concealer under my eyes because, you know, I’m 41 now… You can do the math. 🙂 By that time, who knows how good the cameras will be on our phones? And I just don’t need to have that captured for posterity.
So my answer will probably change in a few years.
How about you? Do you plan to wear any makeup on Christmas morning? Props to you if you are, girl.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Nope, not at all. My kids are still pretty young and I only have pictures of them opening presents and my Husband assembling them so I don’t have to be photo ready. If we lived near family and had them over, I might.

You’re Filipino? I thought you were ethnically Chinese! Yeah, I bet there is plenty of good singing going on this Christmas! Maligayang Pasko!! xx

Yes! Going out in the morning. Just ordered a Kjaer Weis lipstick and am really looking forward to trying it. afternoon will be Jammies all the way… but my lips will still look good, haha! No makeup today though. Quiet day. 🙂 washed the dog and made grilled sammies for everyone.

Love that Karen – furry teeth and furry tongue. Gonna have to use that instead of describing non-brushed teeth as “rats dancing in my mouth all night long” …..
Merry Christmas!!!

I’ll probably apply some Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tigergrass Color Correcting Treatment instead of moisturizer to even out my skin tone/calm redness, swipe some gel on my brows to tame them, and pop on a slightly tinted lip balm like Fresh Sugar Rose, rather than a clear balm. That takes two minutes tops, makes a difference in how I look and makes me feel put-together while looking natural, and is about as much as I ever do if I’m not leaving our apartment. If I go for a walk later, I’ll add BB cream, powder, mascara, and a stronger lip color, at a minimum. Probably tightline and pop on a bit of blush, too. It just makes me feel happy 🙂

I might put on a festive lipstick after breakfast.

I usually don’t unless it’s a rare occasion when my folks and I are going out to a restaurant.

Christmas morning with El Hubs, no makeup! We will be going to a close friend’s for a Christmas evening dinner so I will get dolled up for that! Merry Christmas Karen! Have a wonderful holiday! 🙂

First of all you look much younger than your age! I’m about your age. We are still young.
Merry Christmas!!! Oh, you know I put makeup on right after brushing my teeth, even when I’m home alone! The obsession is real!
It is so cool that you have that nice family tradition! It’s just me and my husband most of the time.

Sadly, no. The whole family is enjoying a collective head cold as a symbol of holiday solidarity.

We went to church this morning, so I did! My mom and stepdad are Greek Orthodox so I had to sit through a two and a half hour service before we could open gifts! I just wore foundation and a little blush and mascara though, nothing fancy.

I don’t put makeup on first thing. We do presents first, so nightclothes and a bare face for me. I get dressed and put on makeup while hubby makes breakfast.
