I call these Nikes my “elf shoes” ?♀️ because of the pointy curve in the heel…
So, I’ve been spending a lot of time on my feet since I started working at the bakery, and now even when I’m off cake/cupcake duty, I’m very particular — more particular than ever before — about my shoes.
At this point in my life, I’d rather be comfortable than cute…
I know — WHO AM I?
At any rate, my tootsies crave supportive footwear that simultaneously makes me feel like I’m walking on cushioned clouds. No stiff shoes for this girl!
Enter these Nikes.
I’ve been living my best life in these Winflo 6 Running Shoes, which I love because, not only do they lift my arches up enough to keep ’em stable, they’re also on the squishier side, so I feel like there are fluffy cumulous clouds strapped to my feet…
They’re firm and supportive, but not stiff or uncomfortable.
This is the third generation of these shoes I’ve worn, and I think it’s the best-feeling, cutest one yet.
The wide base around the heel keeps my ankles from rolling, and the fabric makes them featherweight (they required absolutely *no* time to break in). I also love the subtle pink and purple color blocking and the “swish” on the insdie heel.
The shoe comes in other colors, too, ranging from conservative (gray, black and white) to colorful (berry, black and hot pink!). I like this particular color combo because the black and white are pretty standard issue, so I can wear these with most outfits, but the pop of pink keeps it fun.
I wear them all the time — when I’m working out, when I’m toolin’ around Novato, or whenever I need to do things with Connor, because you never know when you’ll have to break into a sprint when you hang out with a child.
I love them so much that I’m thinking about getting a second pair.
You can find this style almost anywhere that carries athletic shoes. I just saw them at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Petaluma and DSW in Novato, and online at nike.com and nordstromrack.com.
Your friendly neighborhood comfortable footwear addict,
Karen

I’m a Vomero girl myself and the latest style has the same elf back. 🙂 I used to love Brooks Glycerin for just walking around because they are THE puffiest clouds. But, I started to get foot, knee and hip pain and, when I switched back to my Vomeros, it all disappeared. So, I’m at an age where I need the right sneaker – who would have known. HAHA! Glad you’re loving your Winflo!
Karen says
OK, so I just looked at the Vomeros and I think I need a pair because they’re available in HOT PINK!!!!

Ooh those are cute! And how fun are those laces?! I just realized that the workouts I do most (spin, Pilates, yoga) don’t require “gym shoes.” For spin I have clip in shoes, and yoga and Pilates I don’t wear shoes. So unfortunately I cannot justify new sneakers! I’m with you on wearing only shoes that are comfortable. And the older I get the more support I need.
Karen says
I never quite figured out the clips. Good for you for being able to ride in them! How often do you do spin? It’s such a great cardio workout.
Rachel says
I try to do spin 2-3 times a week. It’s a great cardio workout but realized I needed more resistance training to gain muscle, so I started Pilates and boy it is tough! I sprinkle in some easy yoga classes for relaxation and stress relief!
Karen says
I think I’ll eventually start taking classes, but I would rather do that when my core is stronger! Pilates is NO JOKE.
Do you do mat pilates, or do you use the reformer?
Rachel says
I go to a studio in my town called SolidCore. They have a modified reformer that you use during class, they call her “Sweatlana”! ?
Karen says
OMG, cute! I want to name my treadmill that, LOL!

I may or may not have an older pair with that color scheme. 😉 Of course, my current are the black. I was just scrolling through the older posts and saw your reply. OMG, your “little ‘ol MBB” is one of the best parts of my day! Now that things are settling down a bit, you’ll be hearing from me daily. 🙂 Today is the boys’ b’day, btw (17, gah!). I am amazed that Connor is already 4, but can’t quite accept that the boys are 17 already. It seems even more impossible because *I* don’t age…. 😉
Karen says
AHHHH! I want the pink now! I wish they had them at DSW, because I just got a $10 coupon in the mail (side note: I’e officially turned into my mom).
Happy birthday to your twins. I also have to give props to you… I can’t imagine that raising two at the same time is easy. I can barely even handle one kid’s moodiness, OMG!
Kim says
They are quite cute! The Vomeros are a bit hard to find but they’re my feet’s favorites. 🙂 I’m your mother, too. Between the discounts and having to use Rakuten for everything, people think I’m starting a savings cult. HAHA!
Thanks! I think it’s easier than having 2 at different ages (because you just do everything twice but it’s not like 5 years of diapers, etc). The teenage years are quite challenging but things seem to be improving. I try to remember they can’t help being moody or jerky – it’s mostly hormones. 🙂
