It’s not easy to carry around 15 bottles of Bath & Body Works lotion…
OK, 14 bottles of lotion and one bottle of body wash.
But it’s not easy to walk around the mall and drink your boba tea while you’re hauling around all that stuff. I can tell you that much!
The last time I went all-out at a beauty sale was last Sunday when these lotions happened. See, I’d gone to the mall to get a boba tea at the food court, but then I accidentally wandered into the Bath & Body Works thinking I’d quickly sniff a couple candles, wash my hands at their sink, put on some hand sanitizer and be on my merry way, but alas…that’s not what went down, because B&BW is having an amazing sale right now.
Some of their scents (lotions, body washes and sprays) are 50-75% off. I got most of the lotions in that gigantic picture at the top for $3 each (normally they’re $12.50!), so it’s a really good deal.
I asked one of the sales associates, and she said that the sale is ongoing through July 3.
Anywho, I started out getting a couple of lotions for myself (Tiki Mango Mai Tai and Aloha Waterfall Orchid) and a bottle of body wash for El Hub…but then I texted my mom and was like, “Hey, girl! Do you want me to get you a bottle of lotion at Bath & Body Works? They’re on sale for three bucks each!” and she was like, “I want 12! And your dad wants one.” LOL!
It’s because they’re planning to take a trip to the Philippines this fall, and if you’re Filipino, I’m sure you know this, but when you go back home to the islands, there’s a cultural thing where you fill a couple of big cardboard boxes, which are called a balikbayan boxes, with things like snack foods, clothing, beauty products, toys, etc. and bring with it with you to give to your relatives back home.
So my mom and dad are filling up their boxes right now, and the lotions will be for my mom’s sisters. Plus, she just got really excited over the $3 sale. She’s a lady who loves a good deal.
How about you? When was the last time you went all-out at a beauty sale, and what did you buy?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oh, I will have to stop at Bath and Body Works and see if there is anything I like. These are great gifts and stocking stuffers for sure.
I went a little crazy yesterday at Charming Charlie, they have a huge sale going on too and I bought 6 necklaces and 2 pairs of earrings for less than $20!
Chris25 says
Yes, I just discovered Charming Charlie and I also may order soon. Can you do a post soon on your haul? I’d like to know how good their services are.
Karen says
Thanks for the heads up, Agata! There’s a Charming Charlie in my town and Tabs needs more necklaces. 😀

seriously did not think I could love you anymore Karen, but I was laughing and nodding the whole time…The minute you said your parents were travelling I knew exactly what that meant. See I’m from Belize, and while it is not an island, it’s in Central America, and American goods are very expensive so needless to say when I go home there is the same tradition of taking a bunch of stuff for my family, I’m embarrassed to say this lol but I have even taken regular bar soap and toothpaste. stuff we take for granted here. so yeah, I know exactly what you mean by taking a box of goodies home to your family and friends 😉
Karen says
Hi Yelena,
We fill our boxes with regular stuff like toothpaste and bar soap too! My mom also takes things like apples and cheese (which my aunt loves). When was the last time you traveled to Belize? Lately I’ve had the itch to travel and recently put Belize on my bucket list. If you have an travel recommendations I’d love to hear them! I like a good mix of outdoor stuff with city life.
Kim says
This is a win-win for all of you. Your parents get some very nice treats for their trip, you get to repay your mom for all the calls she makes to you from Costco (to see if you need anything – hee hee) AND hauling that around is building up your muscles for when Connor gets heavier and you’re carrying her around. 🙂
Karen says
OH my gosh, she’s getting so big! She’s just about 12 lbs now. Within the last month she’s grown so fast, and she does new things every day. Recently she’s learned that her hands actually work, LOL! Now she’s obsessed with grabbing all of the overhead toys in her baby gym and talking to them. Her best friend is a purple toucan. 🙂
Kim says
It’s such a great age with so many fun, new things happening! I hear you on the baby gym – it was a genius invention. 🙂 Cherish the carrying, too. I sometimes make the kids let me carry them around he house, like a spider monkey, for a few minutes. They’re 5’6″ and 5’7″ so their feet can basically touch the ground but thankfully they’re slim. They joke that they’ll have to carry me soon (they’d better work on some strengthening drills). HAHA! I think you’ll have many happy years of carrying and snuggling ahead, too. 🙂

Yesterday (6/27) I bought 8 deep cleasing Hand soaps, 5 foam Hand soaps and 1 body wash. I have a $10 coupon, so I paid about 30 dls..
Some of the soaps were at $1.6 (75% disc).
I usually buy hand soaps in the “duck sale” (that’s how I call it ?) For the rest of the year… Summer and Christmas… Love bath and body works… Also I buy the lotions to give away to my friends and family when we go to Mexico… The only thing is de weight…. Hehehehe!…
Karen says
Hi Nohemi,
You got a great deal! They have lovely hand soaps (I especially enjoy the foam ones). What scents did you get?
Chris25 says
Yes, absolutely! I like the semi-annual CVS beauty clearance sales. I also buy lots and lots from the Cosmetics Market. I try to get nail polish in bulk from there for swatching purposes.

I haven’t gone all-out at a beauty sale for ages… no really, for several years. I think last time was like 6 years ago, when I still lived in France, and I happened to get into a Kiko store while they were having a sale. I bought a ton of stuff and I was happy with basically everything!
I thought the semi-annual sale was over last week? I got into a store last weekend too but they had very little left.
Karen says
Hmm, I’m not sure when the “official” date is but I got the July 3 date from one of the sales associates. It’s also still happening online.
Happy Tuesday! It’s a hot one here today in the Bay.
Iris says
Last time was at B&BW years ago. I purchased their entire collection of Vanillas when they were on sale.
Karen says
Those B+BW sales are great, aren’t they? Did you ever finish your Vanilla?
Tatiana says
I can’t ever recall going all out for a beauty sale. That doesn’t mean I haven’t. It just means somehow it’s blocked from my memory.
What a wonderful tradition of taking back boxes of goods when you visit relatives. When I was pregnant and living in The Netherlands, my cousin put together a baby shower in a box for me. It wasn’t everything I needed, but it was so touching I cried like a baby when that box got delivered. It was somewhere between a medium moving box and a dishpak moving box in size.
Boba tea!!! My daughter loves boba tea. When she was looking for a new apartment she had to check out all the boba tea places nearby to see if there were any good ones. Other people are concerned about how safe the neighborhood is or how much the rent will be or if there’s a grocery store nearby. My daughter cares about boba tea.
Karen says
LOL, Tatiana. I’ve had those blackout moments during sales. They always seem to happen during Sephora VIB, hmmm…
It’s all about the boba tea! I could seriously have it every day. 😀 My favorite is Hong Kong milk tea with honey boba, yum!
I hope you had a nice Tuesday. Is it hot out your way?
Maria says
I took advantage of the sale by placing 2 online orders: one for the three wick candles (plus I used a $10 off coupon) and another for aromatherapy shower gels. Yea me!
Karen says
Hi Maria,
Woo hoo! Yay for saving money (my mom would be proud of you, LOL!). What candle did you get?
Maria says
I like the citrusy and flowery scents.
Katie says
I always lose control in B+BW when there’s a sale… I love their golden sugar scrubs more than anything else for body exfoliation! Plus their candles are heavenly.!
Karen says
Hi Katie,
I love their candles too. They smell great and last forever! I would’ve picked one up if I didn’t already have several I still need to burn through.
Do you have a fave Bath and Body Works scent? Right now I’m loving Honolulu Sun (just finished the bottle!).
Katie says
Warm Vanilla Sugar (not the Madagascar Vanilla) is my favorite, but unfortunately, they don’t make it in a candle! I also love their Limoncello scent, it’s a very sophisticated, warm, creamy citrus fragrance. As far as candles, I love Capri, a Christmas tree kind of one from the White Barn line that I can’t remember the name of, Limoncello again, and Lemon Mint Tea which I can’t find on the website.

Well, there wasn’t a sale; which should have deterred me. But it didn’t! I went to Sephora earlier this month & put my usual cautious buying, budget mindful tendencies to the wind & bought an ABH angled brush, a Glamglo exfoliating mask in the mini jar, ABH brow gel, Dr Dennis Gross eye serum, & Kate Somerville Eradikate acne treatment. A few of these were repurchases for me & I haven’t regretted any of them. Maybe I’ll “accidentally” walk by B&BW before their sale ends this weekend. $3 a pop seems too good to pass by 🙂
Ellie Delancey says
Yes! When you said your family was heading back to the Philippines, I knew what was coming next. My family is in the Bahamas and we do the same thing every time someone visits the States. We pack everything in our suitcases though. Makes for an interesting trip!
Cory says
Omg Karen, I lerrrrv you for telling me about this sale! I need lotion/body butter soooo badly! Can’t wait to hit my B&BW up on Friyay!
So yeah…idk if you’d call IMATS a beauty “sale” or not.. I mean, there is the discount, so I guess it counts as a sale. This year was my 1st year going so I had no clue what I was in for! I went w/my bff in all things MUA-related, & since neither of us are pros, we couldn’t go on Friyay, & Saturday sold out in a heartbeat! So we got stuck w/Sunday (not the day you WANT to go, to anyone who is considering going. You get the bottom of the barrel, slim pickin’s, etc., as the pros go on Fri, they buy in bulk & have a sweet ass discount), but we still got 20%-30% off of mostly everything, some places did give 40%.
The 1st place we waited in line was ABH (a foolish mistake), where I got both of the Glow Kit’s for $30/ea., & 4 shadow singles.
2nd place was Beautylish, they only had the Natasha Denona palettes (all of them, the big ones, the 5-pans, & the 10-pan), & they weren’t giving any discount, but I picked up the 5-palette in 02 anyway (they’re so gorgeous to swatch!!! You fall in love instantly)..
Then I want to say we stopped at Cinema Secrets (they’re awesome), I got some of that awesome blue brush cleaner for much cheaper than Sephora sells it.
I was scoping out Juvia’s Nubian palettes when my friend pulled my over to look at some Cozzette brushes, & I picked up an S175 (ohhmaaagaahhh! If you don’t have one, you need one!) for a couple bucks less than on her site.
I hit bdellium tools up hard! Picked up a ton of brushes for a great price. I spent a total of around $80 on around 15-18 brushes.
I got a super cool liquid lippie from Lunatick Cosmetic Labs in the shade Coven Cream. That was only $8 (they have awesome palettes shaped like coffins too!).
I picked up 3 OCC RTW Liquid Lipsticks for $10 each, Indrid, Hush, & Structure.
SugarPill was sold out of everything I wanted but my friend hit LIT up HARD.
I wound up buying Inglot’s AMC Pure Pigment in 119 from her on the way home lol
Oh! My gosh! I almost forgot the most life-changing purchase! My friend was still checking out Inglot & MBA (amazing pigmentation), so I went to grab some over-priced grub.
By the time I finished eating, she was ready to roll, waiting outside.
I still needed a Zpalette, so I was heading toward the stand that had them when I saw the Velour stand…? If you wanted them to, they were putting whatever pair of lashes you bought on your eyes for free.
I had never worn falsies before but was super interested.
Sooo, I checked out a few trays of lashes and fell in LERRRVV w/the mink! They look EXACTLY like real eyelashes! So I bought a pair called Got it From My Momma for $20 (they’re $30-$35 online), & had them put on w/their new rose-scented glue… Omfg. Amazing. The difference 1 pair of falsies can make is unbelievable.
& you can wear the mink Velour (not sure about the silk) lashes for 25+ uses!!! I’m on my 7th use since April 10th, & I am addicted!!!
Lol I know I prob wrote a book, & I apologize if that doesn’t count to anyone else as a sale, but I think it does. I know I forgot a few things, but you guys got the gist ?
Peace, love, & makeup! ?
Cory says
* the ABH shadows were $8 a piece, but they were all out of the quads they give with a purchase of 4….
Kiss & Make-up says
Woahhhh okay you really meant ALL out! Haha 🙂 Nice! It’s been a while since I last had a major splurge…
LindaLibraLoca says
To be honest, it has been ages since I shopped any sale, but I want to stop by The Body Shop later this week.
