One of my arguably unhelpful talents is my uncanny ability to misplace expensive jewelry.
Got a priceless heirloom engagement ring that you want to get off your hands? Loan it to me for a day!! 🙂 That pear-shaped monstrosity you got from your mother-in-law? I’ll make sure you never see it again.
My friend, this is why I primarily stick to costume jewelry. Sure, some of it might turn my finger green someday, but when the inevitable occurs and it decides to “free itself from my clutches,” I won’t be financially crushed by it.
To that end…
I saw these cute and dainty pieces by Universal Thread at Target the other day… Swoon!
They have some heft to them, so they don’t feel cheap. Quality-wise, they’re similar to what you’d get at LOFT, so a little better than “starter” costume jewelry from Charming Charlie or Forever21, but not as substantial as something from Ann Taylor, Kendra Scott or Kate Spade.
So, perfect if you’re on a budget but want something to jooj up a plain white tee and jeans or cutoffs. Also good if you want something to wear to the beach that you don’t have to constantly worry about losing.
Um…who else gets confused by this logo?
I know it’s for “A New Day,” one of Target’s lines, but I always see “And EA WY.”
LOL. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. TGIF!!!!!! Who wants to play hooky with me today and go to the beach? I can fit four of us in my Mazda.

First of all I agree with you about the A New Day logo, it’s hard to read! Second I really like that Univeral Thread line. That jewelry is cute and simple. The jeans fit pretty good too.

I’m in! Gonna stop and pick me up? I’ll bring extra sunscreen! 🙂
Have a great weekend!

Gah, take me with you to the beach!! It’s so hot and muggy in Manhattan today, which means it’s probably perfect out by the ocean.
I’ll have to swing by Target sometime to browse the jewelry selection. These pieces are awesome! (Or maybe I’ll just go online shopping while I’m at work, lol.) I feel like I could use some big-@ss pieces that are still delicate, like those big ol’ hoops. Thanks for the heads up for those of us who don’t have a Target nearby, lol!

Cute stuff! I usually wear costume jewelry, too, aside from rings. I’m not too bad about losing the good stuff, but I’m afraid of catching earrings on clothing or breaking gold chains. So I only wear the real thing for special occasions.

Love the Target jewelry . I ran into it looking for camo leggings they didn’t have . But since I’m into large dangling earrings I found three pairs then bought tops to match .
And , oh yes shoes and handbags .
Do you think that’s what they had in mind ?

It might be A New Day, but it reads And EA WY. Either way, I like the bar necklaces with the onyx, rose quartz and aventurine. I hate going to my local Target but since I need a new entry way rug I’ll probably end up looking at jewelry now that you’ve tempted me.

I am not much of a jewelry person! I wish I was, but I’m just not. I actually almost never wear my actual engagement ring and wedding band because they’re way too delicate for my clumsy lifestyle. I was having to get things fixed every few months! I also lost my first engagement ring. I set it aside to wash my face, heard it clink somewhere, and it disappeared. Checked every inch of that one bedroom apartment, including the gooseneck of the sink. My now husband was even there. ?♀️
I buy myself inexpensive fun rings on Etsy so I can switch it up. Plus since I have to take it off for aerial classes, misplacing them isn’t the worst thing in the world. Waiting for a new one to arrive now!

That’s so funny about “A New Day.” When I first looked at it, in Target, I thought it was “And Away.” LOL!! I’ve actually bought a few things from that line. I found a really cute black handbag on clearance last Winter. It’s a domed satchel and I love it!!
