Have You Ever Done Makeup for Cosplay?

Nope, I haven’t, but it looks like fun. One of these days, if I can ever make it down to San Diego Comic-Con, I’d go as Khaleesi from Game of Thrones…but only if I had a legit wig (she has the best hair) *and* a dragon.

This Star Trek costume with hair and makeup is probably the closest I’ve come, and I’m not even sure if that counts, LOL!

How about you? Have you ever done makeup for yourself or someone else for cosplay before?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Good question. I don’t think I ever have but it would be fun to! I would cosplay as The Evil Queen from OUAT.

I dressed up as a Fallout character for a party last year. It was fun, but I didn’t have time to do a vintage hairstyle to go with it lol. It was pretty easy, red lips & nails, black cat eye liner, non-vintage hair lol.

Not for Cosplay, but for LARP, which is pretty similar.

Cosplay, no, but for costume parties and carnaval, yes 🙂

I haven’t done cosplay. I did do a medieval look for a themed pagan wedding, plays when I was younger, costume parties, and of course Halloween.

There was a small, fan run con (no special guests, just panels) that had a masquerade that I usually volunteered to do pro make up for. Sign up sheet and everything. I’ve done a wide variety of comic book eye looks (Which is where a large chunk of the difference is for female human characters) as well as replicating one or two of the Avengers Eye looks (Do you remember the artist who designed an entire eye look based off an avenger?)

It’s fun! B/C you don’t often get to use that much glitter or glue on rhinestones or specialty lashes. Or dig into face painting like that. In general they had to tell me in advance what they wanted so I could prep and since I was doing it for free I asked that they buy the special items if I didn’t have them. (Rhinestones of specific colors, etc.)

I’ve never done it to my OWN face though. 😉

I’ve cosplayed as Cosima and Sarah from Orphan Black and had so much fun with the makeup. I’ve also tested makeup for a comic character–Amaterasu from The Wicked + The Divine and I’m thinking of cosplaying her soon. It’s a lot of fun!

I am a cosplayer, I create my own costumes, style wigs and of course I do my makeup in order to be 100% similar to the character I am cosplaying.
That’s so much fun, I love it.
I go to cons with friends, take part in competitions and pose for pics 🙂
I am a huge Star Trek fan, so thumbs up for your costume

My BF at the time wanted to go to a costume ball as Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. I did both our makeup for the event. We won the contest of course!

Yup, I cosplay every year at Anime Expo, Halloween, and other occasions. It’s super fun to try to change your look. I too did a Star Trek cosplay as a vulcan! http://imgur.com/ma1YvzR

I’ve done pretty full out zombie makeup before for Halloween, but I spent so much time on my makeup I ended up just wearing regular fall clothes – a flannel and jeans lol!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
