Belated Sundays with Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Feb. 17

February 17th, 2009 by Karen 22 Comments

A busy schedule (busy on the couch, ha!) kept Tabs from checking in last Sunday, but he emailed an update a short time ago. That rotten cat went to Fashion Week without telling me… and he bought his ticket to New York on MY credit card.

Needless to say, I am not happy.

Can you spot the four differences between these two pictures of Bryant Park? 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Man…I found only 3!!! A cab is purple in one, yellow in the other–obvious, lol…Tabs (I’m assuming that’s a pic of Tabs) is in one ad, while there is a man in the other, and there is a lamppost to the right in one photo, while it doesn’t exist in the other.

    Hi Dimpy,

When it comes to job interviews I tend to dress very conservatively, but then again it also depends on the company. If you are interviewing for a company that is somehow involved in fashion I would suggest wearing their product to the interview. But for most interviews I think you’ll be okay with a suit. When I go for most interviews I wear a black suit, black shoes, subtle jewelry and subtle makeup. I will tie my hair back and wear my glasses, too, because it helps me appear older. LOL… although now I gotta say I don’t worry about that as much, cause I’m lookin’ my age these days, LOL!

    Ooooooooo, I’m good at these.

Let’s see. The four differences are:

    1. The taxi cab is violet in the second picture and not taxi cab yellow.

    2. The lamp post on the far right in the first picture is gone in the second.

    3. Tabby is on the ad in the first picture and not in the second.

    4. There’s a building missing in the second photo!

    Hi Dimpy,

I wish you lots of luck on your interview!

Oh — one last thing. One thing that always helps me is to prepare beforehand. Like, I’ll sit down and brainstorm questions that I think they might ask me, and then I’ll write down the answers and then actually practice reciting them in the mirror. It’s a little nerdy, but it totally helps.

Good luck, and please let me know how it goes.

I did, for the most part. I gave Zena a mini-brushing and she deemed it acceptable to take a nap with me on my bed. Of course, when she takes a nap with anybody on anybody’s bed, she’ll only give 1/8 of the bed; when you want to roll over you’ll either a) fall off the bed or b) encounter 33-pound dog curled into a donut shape happily snoozing and possibly snoring. You can’t move her either or she’ll groan a bit as you are disturbing her and not the other way around. That means I have to get out of bed and go to the wrong side of the bed to go back to bed. Cute? Yes. But very annoying.

Tabby is fun to say. It’s got a bounce to it. Tabs is a cute name too. I just noticed he has markings around his eyes like glasses without the bridge.

    Hi Kate,

LOL! Tabs is the same way with the bed. He loves to let us know that he RULES when he is up in the mix. When I fall asleep on my stomach, his favorite thing to do is to climb up on my back. He’ll then snuggle in my hair or bite it (it depends on how frisky he’s feeling).

Zena must be like a heat pack when she’s in bed with you! She snores … awww!

Zena isn’t a heat pack, she’s a radiator. A purring radiator, for that matter (see below).

She only seems to snore when she’s curled up into a donut. It’s not horrible as it sounds like she’s purring over snoring.

She prefers snuggling in the crook of something like the crook of your knees when they’re folded or in a corner of a piece of furniture. She isn’t a hair-nesting dog; she’s a blanket-nesting dog. I think the hair-nesting thing is a cat thing. You must have bird’s nest hair in the morning!

    Hi Kate,

Oh, isn’t that cute and annoying at the same time when they snuggle up in the crook of your knees? Tabs does that too. I hate to disturb him, but at the same time having your leg fall asleep is not. cool! 🙂

Okay, call me crazy, but if Zena came over to play I’d tempted to dress her up in outfits!

Ha ha ha ha, well, she does have sweaters, two scarves and a puffer jacket! No tutus or anything too ridiculous like that as we (my family) firmly believe that dogs are not accessories that can be dressed up and carried around but actual animals that need exercise and warmth. I have big beef with Paris Hilton for that very reason.

It is cute and annoying. What’s even more annoying and cute is when she uses the ankles and feet as pillows causing the feet to fall asleep!

    Hi Kate,

So cute! I bet she looks adorable in her puffer jacket.

Hmm… now only if I could find a way to get Tabs to wear one.:)

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
