1. Prive Revaux Eyewear Reading Glasses
Got these at THE RACK because I’m tired of staring at my phone and having everything be hella blurry! Usually, these reading glasses are $40 at full price, but I found this lightweight pink pair for $13! I saw lots of blue-light blocking glasses in lots of cute frames, too.
2. Old Navy Eva Slides in the Big Leopard Print
Leopard print is a neutral! I saw one of Connor’s teachers wearing these cute leopard slides, and so when she told me to run-don’t-walk to Old Navy, I promptly heeded her advice. These are cute, and the arch support is decent, although I wouldn’t go walking around Disneyland all day in them or anything… They’re fine for errands and camping.
I suspect they’re only built to last one summer, though, because some of the print along the edges of the slides has already started peeling off. I’m not crabby about it, but I think I’ll eventually try to find a similar one that’s more durable.
3. The beauty section at the Old Navy cash wrap
Speaking of Old Navy, the beauty section located near the cash wrap is LIT. They don’t have a ton of brands, but the ones that are there (in the store in my town, at least) are stocked. I saw quite a few things from Pacifica, e.l.f., Burt’s Bees and a perfume brand that’s new to me called Kindred Goods.
4. Shirts with sun protection UPF50
Apparently, I’ve somehow ended up on a mission to have absolutely no rays of sun touch my skin over the next few months, LOL! I’ve been browsing and bookmarking long-sleeve shirts with UPF50 sun protection. I’m on the hunt for affordable, lightweight and cute shirts.
I like that these breezy, comfy-looking Under Armor shirts are only $35. It gets really hot where I live in Northern Marin County, and the sweat-wicking material would be helpful.
The curved hem and thumbholes in the Athleta Uptempto top are nice touches. Lots of colors to choose from, too.
They’re $69 each, which is out of my budget, but if I can find one on sale, I’ll pounce!
5. The Jetsetters, by Amanda Eyre Ward
Last night I started this book and had to force myself to put it down, so I could go to sleep! This fiction novel is about a woman in her 70s, Charlotte, and her three estranged adult children; Charlotte enters an essay contest and wins an international trip as a prize. She then invites her kids to join her, and shenanigans ensue.
What’ve you been loving lately?

I love the crystal pink in those frames and I don’t usually like pink. I need to get new glasses. I see better without mine than with.
It got to 90 degrees here yesterday. So this morning I looked at Dear Husband and said we should go for walk before it gets too hot again. Popped on a high neck, long sleeved UPF shirt, sunscreen on my face and a big brimmed hat and went for a longish walk.
Jetsetters sounds like a good read. I think I might see if the local library has a copy instead of buying a copy this time.

Hi! What is the brand of your UPF shirt? I want one that covers my neck, too.

My UPF shirts ate made by a horse tack company called SmartPak. They also carry shirts by other horse oriented companies. I was just about to order a few more.

Some of them are pricey but some of them are more affordable too.

That sounds like a really good book! I’ll have to keep it in mind the next time I go to a book store.
Five things I’ve been loving lately…
1. Going for walks with the dogs. My knee isn’t good for running a lot yet but it’s so much fun to get them hyped up to run and watch their little butts and legs go ? (I have chihuahuas)
2. Flowers! Next weekend we’re going to a greenhouse to get our flowers and accessories for our yard.
3. Fruits and vegetables are starting to taste better the closer we are to summer
4. I recently finished “Vicious” and “Vengeful” by V.E Schwab and I loved them! She has this dark, fantasy style writing that is so smooth, you don’t even realize you’re reading after a while. I love her work!
5. Pearls! My fiancé gifted me a gorgeous pair of Biwa Pearls for V-Day this year… and now an obsession has started, ha ha! I have my eye on five other pearl pieces (from a local, family owned jeweller which is even better). I’m also thinking of opting for pearls instead of diamonds for the wedding day. Pearls are so romantic and timeless, and I think they’ll suit my dress better than diamonds.

Go with pearls! My dress (21 years ago) had tiny little seed pearls sewn into the neckline and it was gorgeous.
Also, my grandfather gave my grandma a string of pearls on their wedding day (this was back in the 1940’s) and now I’ve inherited them. I think pearls are super romantic.

I’m working my way through it with a quickness! I stayed up way too late last night reading it. Highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for something light to read at the beach this summer.

Hmmm, five things…cinnamon babka from Whole Foods. I’ve eaten almost the entire loaf myself. I have no shame. And soon I’ll have no pants that fit.
A great pink kind of subtle tie-dye ball cap to wear gardening that I bought at the rack.
Pepperoni and ricotta cheese pizza from our new favorite pizza place. My soon to be high school graduate thought of that flavor and it’s amazing.
My greenhouse–it’s not encased in glass yet and I’m not in love with the shape or the design–my artist husband got creative–but it’s working as intended and I’m having a lot of fun planting things. It’s saving my sanity right now frankly.
Blooming tulips–I planted a bunch of bulbs three years ago and they’re just now blooming for some reason.

I love Reece’s book club suggestions. I’ve read several and they’ve been excellent. I just finished The Henna Artist and OH MY GOSH that book is probably in my top 10 it is that good. I was so sad when I finished it. Truly a delight! I saw the Jetsetters on her list but the description didn’t grab me. But after reading your post, perhaps I’ll have to try it!
