1. Earl Grey
I like mine with milk and 🍯 honey…lots of honey. I’ve been downing it daily, sometimes twice, and I’m freaking out a little because I just made myself a cup and realized that I’m out of tea now…
I think I’m low-key addicted!
2. Sparkly pencil eyeliner
In particular, anything with tiny flecks of glitter, because when you buff out the liner, it’s so sparkly! And, seriously, it’s the easiest way jooj up weekday work makeup.

3. Morning affirmations
You are 100% permitted to call me corny, because this video sounds like something b-list comedians would make fun of on Saturday Night Live, but listening to positive affirmations first thing in the morning helps. A lot. I repeat them internally while I’m washing my face, brushing my teeth, getting changed and making my bed. Gets the day started right.
4. Cats on my couch
Cats make a house feel like a home, amirite?
Everyone should have at least one content kitty on their couch at any given moment. Currently, there are two napping on mine…
5. Level Up by Ciara
I feel like Ciara is so underrated, man. This song is about learning from your mistakes (I think) and having the strength to get over your fears. Also, that beat is bangin’! I have it on my running playlist.
What have you been loving lately?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. TGIF.
Where is your kitty cup and saucer from? It’s soooo adorable!
Hi Jennifer,
It’s from HomeGoods from two, maybe three years ago, in the section with the mugs. 🙂 When I bought it, there was only one cup/saucer, and I’ve been looking for them ever since because I really want a set. If I ever find more I”ll let you know.
Hope you’re having a nice weekend so far!
Hi Karen, I have been loving
yoga at bedtime
I used to drink a tea called hibiscus and coconut from The Republic of Tea. I would add milk. It was delicious. I can’t seem to find it at Oliver’s Market anymore. I know Amazon has it if you want to try it
Hi Gen,
That tea sounds delicious! I’ll keep an eye out for it. The Target near my house has a very extensive tea section, so hopefully I can find it there.
BTW I stretch every night before I go to sleep and it has changed my life. I can see why you love yoga at bedtime… I bet it’s relaxing.
Oh my goodness – did you adopt a new furbaby? She/he is absolutely precious… What is her name? Is she/he going to become famous like Mr. Tabs? Of course nobody will ever replace him as he was just the BEST kitty model ever! Mr. Tabs is why I started to read your blog years ago and secondly because I love make-up and your blog ROCKS! I try to read all of your posts, but I guess I missed the one about your new furbaby.
Never stop blogging – you are GREAT at it. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Marcia,
Pretty Girl Rosie joined our family in the fall. She’s super sweet, smart and so, so funny. Here’s more pics of her so you can enjoy the glorious rosettes on her torbie coat!
I love Earl Grey tea! Have you tried Lady Grey Tea? It’s super yummy too. I also love glittery liner and I want to try the Fenty Beauty one. I have 1 cat on the sofa although he prefers to sit in his basket by the window.
Hi Leah,
No, but while I was researching Earl Grey Tea (I’m thinking of doing an Earl Grey Tea cupcake), I read about Lady Grey and now I really want to try it. 🙂
I have to swatch those Fenty liners when I go to Sephora again!
I’ve been drinking Lemon Balm tea mixed with Mountain tea in the evenings and it helps me to chill and sleep better. Also loving Multi-chrome eye shadows for a one and done dimensional eye look. LOL I thought you had 2 cats now until I saw Connors stuffed cat under the blanket. So cute!
Hi Denise,
Connor tucked in her stuffed kitty and then told me to not to kiss him or bother him so he could finish his nap. HA HA HA!
What multi-chrome eyeshadow have you been using/loving?
I love Earl Grey with milk or cream, as well. No sugar for me. Love the two kitties. I’ve finally started to browse the listings at the SF SPCA for another black cat. Still not sure I’ll ever take the leap again. My heart is still very broken over Nora and Lucy. And Urban Decay pencil liners rock! My every day go-to is Hustle, but I do love me some Empire!
Honestly Tatiana I don’t think your heart every fully recovers. The pain of losing Tabs is still there, but it’s not as sharp as it used to be. More like a low-frequency, dull ache. But every day I get to know more about Rosie, the more I fall more in love with her. It’s a different kind of love, for sure, but it’s nice to have a kitty companion again. Our house feels whole with her in it.
Your kitty has the essence of Tabs!!!
Urban decay has the best sparkly eyeliners around. 😊
They do! They handle glitter in an elegant, but fun way.
The couch is Hettie and Jiji’s favorite place to be! I love Rosie Bd your stuffy toy kitty 😻
I bought a Glossier ColorSlide eyeliner in a coppery shade and I’m loving it! Other things… strawberries, Greek yogurt, and granola for breakfast!
I bet that copper pops on you! And YUM for your yogurt parfait breakfast. P.S. Are you still doing gluten-free?
I am not but my favorite granola is gluten-free! It’s a Michigan-based brand – Jessica’s Naturals Gluten Free Granola. Vanilla Maple and Cherry Almond are my favorite flavors.
Well that sounds delicious! I’m gonna see if I can track it down.
1. I’ve had a beastly cold lately so I’ve been enjoying a fragrant hot cup of Kusmi’s Russian Breakfast tea first thing in the morning. (BTW, Kusmi makes a delicious Earl Grey blend). A good cup of tea with a wee bit of lemon and honey soothes my throat and achy chest.
2. Tatcha’s Kissu lip moisture mask is my constant companion. Although I’ve been doing a lot of mouth breathing due to all my congestion, Kissu is keeping my lips smooth and soft.
3. I’ve been using Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder foundation all this week. It is sheer and has a luminous finish, but it can be built up a bit if a little extra coverage is needed. When I set it with a whisper of my Clé de Peau finishing powder, I get a soft glow, my skin but better look that lasts all day.
4. Sees Candy customer service is awesome. I had to change some Valentine shipping orders around at the last minute and the very kind Sees lady who helped me got everything taken care of without any fuss or trouble.
5. I could never let a list of this kind go by without mentioning the overwhelming joy my family (yes, the furry ones, too) and good friends bring into my life every day of the year.
Hi Eileen,
I gotta try the Kusmi Earl Grey ASAP. I have one of their green tea blends in my cupboard and it is one of the best teas I’ve ever tried!
My son’s beautiful and thoughtful fiancée gave me an assortment in the small tins as a hostess gift the first time he brought her to visit us. I’ve been hooked on Kusmi teas ever since. I love the Russian Morning (I misspoke when I called it Russian Breakfast) blend because it is low in acid but has a full, rich taste. Their jasmine green tea is also excellent if you like something delicate and floral to sip in the afternoon and their herbal AquaExotica makes a refreshing iced tea a million times better than Coffee Bean’s Swedish Berries. Definitely, Karen, give their Earl Grey a try. It will spoil you to all the other EGs out there.
Oh boy, Eileen. I feel a new tea collection brewing! (Ha ha ha.)
Aww, look at Marmalade all snuggled in! He must be happy to have PGR to hang with. 🙂 The snow leopard gif made me laugh out loud. But, OMG, on the smallest cat in your other post. I nearly died from the cuteness!!!
