- You stash pet hair remover rollers everywhere — inside your bathroom, your car, at work — EVERYWHERE. You may even have mini travel ones stuffed in each and every one of your purses.
- You’re friends with all the neighborhood cats, and you even know what treats each and every one of them likes/doesn’t like. 🐈
- Occasionally, random cats you’ve never seen before will enter you house and kick it with you for a few hours, and you’re totally fine with it. Side note: One time I came home to find a stranger cat on top of my fridge. I called him Katmandu, and he loved bacon.
- You maintain a list of potential cat names you like, just in case the universe decides to send along another kitty friend. Current names on my list include Sheila E. (my brother lives with a cat named Sheila E. How cool is that?), Baroness Schraeder and Sugar.
- Even though your heart has broken into a million pieces after the kitty love of your life leaves you, you’re eventually able to make space for another feline friend, and you remember why you love cats so, so much.
- You’re often surprised by how finicky some cats are about food. Like, one minute they loooooove Sheba Salmon and can’t get enough of it. The next minute (LITERALLY THE NEXT MINUTE), they won’t have anything to do with it. In fact, they’re utterly repulsed by the very idea, and you end up stuck with 24 cans you just ordered from Amazon Prime. 😽
- Teary-eyed, you wonder things like what your friends or family will do with the wooden memorial box of your former cat’s ashes when you pass away…
- You keep cat treats in your purse…because it never hurts to be prepared.
- When you come across a new cat in the neighborhood, you immediately bestow a name upon him or her. Because it’s the right thing to do. 👍🏼
- When you find a stranger cat sleeping in the back seat of your car, your first thought is, “Oh, cool. Make yourself at home.” And, yes, this has totally happened to me more than once.
- You’ve often wished that you could bring your cat with you on family vacations.
- You have cat-related reminders scheduled on your calendar. (Side note: “Siri, remind me to buy cat litter and litter pan liners.”)
- When your cat talks to you, you can hear her “voice” in your head, clear as day. 💖

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict (and cat lady at large),

Awww. Happy to see you with a new kitty, Karen! Happy New Year!
I love this list!
Part of the reason I don’t like traveling is because I miss my kitties so much! Also I wonder what they are doing when I am gone which is why I get a house sitter when I am gone! I have always dreamed of having a cat named Beyonce but when Kitty #2 came along, 1. He was a he and 2. He is a tuxedo and quite obviously a Felix. 🙂
PGR has amazing Resting Cat Face.
All of this is true! I keep my backyard door open so my cats and pugs can go outside to potty, and more than once I’ve walked into the kitchen to find an unknown kitty in it.
My daughter and grandson have a cat named Sugar (and one named Cotton)!
OmGosh! #6! That was totally Nora. I want this food, can’t get enough of it. I order a case and she either turned her nose up at it or ate and then vomited every time I tried feeding it to her. Sigh. What a pain, but I miss my little black cat.
And we keep falling for it! LOL
Love this list so much! I can relate to all of it.
#3 – All the random cats that have made their way inside my house have become permanent residents.
And as an addition to #13 – you talk back to your cat and sometimes have a full conversation. 🙂
My husband’s nickname for Max is Motormouth Max because that boy talks all the time! He gets especially chatty when I turn the shower on. It’s like he’s trying to warn me about all the scary water.
Had to laugh when I read No. 9. I do that all the time, when I see a cat in the neighborhood, I give it a name. I often wonder what their real names are!
Change cat to dog and you have my life. I know every dog on the street and not a single one of their owners names. 😀
My parents used to take their cat with them on vacations all the time. Now he is too old for travel and stays with me and the kids.

This made me laugh and want to cuddle my cat baby. 🙂 I love how in the first pic, the caption says “Rosie loves to be hugged like a tiny little fur baby” and Rosie looks like she’s not having any of it. Too good.
HA HA HA! That’s her resting cat face… She doesn’t like having her pic taken as much as Tabs did. 🙂
My dad built kitty shelves and a cat walk around their living room for the cats – Lady Higgins is loving it. 100% crazy cat dad.
Oh, your did is SUPER COOL! Does the cat walk go up high near the ceiling?
Yes! It took some coaxing but they are loving it, especially Lady Higgins. She and Angus were strays that became family (there are some more feral kitties around that they feed) and when Higgins was still living in the barn before her vaccines and spay, she got into the trusses. She’s wily.
Glad to see you with a new fur baby. I can totally relate to this list. I’ve told my family to put my kitties ash boxes with me when I’m buried.
OMG – I LOVE that I found you!! The makeup reviews are great and all, but the kitty talk makes your blog the best one I’ve ever found!!! LOVE IT!!! PS – hubby knows that all the kitty urns come with me when that day comes!
