When Was Your Last Haircut?

May 6th, 2010 by Karen 83 Comments

Crikey! I’m waaay overdue for a trim. My last run-in with a scissors was December, and now my layers are all out of whack.

The situation with my roots is even worse (three words: hella white hairs). I’d planned a trip to the salon next week, but my May astrology chart (yes, I’m serious) says I should postpone any big physical changes until after Mercury comes out of retrograde… I know, I know — it’s kinda kooky to base styling decisions on planetary alignments, but Susan Miller rarely lets me down. 🙂

What about you? When was your last haircut?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

January. I really need to chop three inches and get highlights. Fortunately my sylist does such a good job that I do not have obvious roots. But as it gets hotter, my hair (long, thick curly mop) just gets more difficult to deal with!

The first week of July 2009. I just forget to make time to try to get an appointment. I am still trying to find someone to cut my hair since I moved further away from my regular hairstylist. I have tried 2 hairstylists, and for some reason, they both gave me a modified version of the “Rachel” haircut from the 90’s Friends episodes. I keep telling them that I air dry my hair most every day and don’t have time to mess with it, since I have a special needs child, but they keep giving me cuts that need blowdrying, flat ironing, or curling.

HAHA! I thought Tabs was a purse! HAHAHAA!

Anywho. Can’t remember the exact date but I’m thinking last July? I know!!! Waaaayy too long. I think I was just too scared because I cut my hair short 2 years ago (like everyone else) and I missed my long hair so much that I refuse to cut it now! But my sisters wedding is in June so I had a deadline…don’t want to look shaggy at her summer wedding 🙁

Last month was my last trim – I pretty good staying on top of my regular salon visits. I have to keep my hair looking good best I can. Also, I’ll be getting highlights next weekend – something I have NOT done in YEARS! I needed a change – a freshening up if you will =)

A few weeks ago. I got it chopped shorter than it’s ever been and it was one of the best style decisions I’ve ever made! I love it now — I went to the refinery for a week, and after standing around in the rain and steam and wearing a hard hat, it still looked awesome at the end of the day.

In the past I have gone a year or two between haircuts, haha. You can fake it a lot longer with curly hair. When I lived in NJ I just never found anyone who really knew what they were doing with it. Now I have someone who is awesome.

I’m afraid to admit it, but my last trim was December 2008! AHH, I really need to get it trimmed, but I’m not super satisfied with my hair stylist and I want my hair to grow out, and I’m not sure what I want done. Hence waiting a year and a half to get anything done with it…

I think it was January or February. I’m kind of way overdue… short hair is a pain in the neck to keep up! I’ve been going to the cosmetology school a lot recently, since I haven’t ventured out in Missoula to find a stylist since I moved. $9 for a haircut from a group of girlies who want to prove themselves is not too bad 🙂

Just a tip from when I got the best haircut ever: bring in a couple different pictures of the types of styles you like, even if they’re not the exact cut that you want. That way you can show your stylist what your tastes are and I think it gives him/her a much better idea of how to make your hair to suit you & your personality.

I last went for a quick trim during February, and have since taken to my own bangs with a pair of scissors. I’m trying to grow my hair out too, so Im afraid of trying new hairdressers who might misinterpret “split ends off” as “2 inches off”. I always go to the same hairdresser in Shanghai!

I’ve been going to the same hairdressers for 3 years. And before that, I went to the same hairdresser for 7 years (in China Town in London). The only time I tried a new hairdresser..they were really not listening and hacked off 4 inches when I asked for my split ends off. I did not have 4 inches of split ends, I assure you!

Wish I could go longer but my hair is unmanageable as is, it would be a disaster if I waited too long between appointments.

When I had long hair I routinely let it go for 6-8 months at a time. My last haircut was 4/1 and I should be scheduling an appt to get my bangs trimmed not this weekend, but the next weekend. =)

I cut it every few months. I used to have it cut professionally, but it never looked that great, so at least I’m saving tons of money.

My hair was cut last week before I went to St. Louis. It went from a choppy mid length bob to Angela Bassett in “Waiting to Exhale”. That’s what I asked mom for but now I resemble Ringo Star early in his Beatles career. I say that I’m Ringo since I have a funny nose! I like it though!! Last time i got my hair cut was back in december. I wont be going back there it cost me £35 fo a cut and blow dry. No wonder the salon is so quite.

I really need to get another cut my layers will be a mess and my fringe needs cutting, its getting in my eyes. I also need to dye my hair,i can see grey. But i do that myself, cant afford salon prices .

Got to love tabs getting in on the picture lol.

I got my last haircut in March, and I desperately need another one. For some reason, it seems like my bangs and my top layers grow 3x faster than my bottom layers, so it’s starting to look a little funky. I’ve had to trim it all myself until I can get to a proper salon D:

Some people also follow the Lunar calendar when to cut their hair. It’s been a long time maybe about 2 years now.

November 2009. I used to go religiously every 6 weeks for a cut and partial highlight. But at $140 each trip, it was getting to be too expensive. My hairdresser even called me a couple of weeks ago to make sure I was okay! And, I’ve recently discovered that I have gray hair at age 27….boo!

Being unemployed definitely does not make me plan on going anytime soon!! 🙁

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
