Hair Do or Don’t? Colorful Clip-In Hair Extensions in Your Team’s Colors

June 1st, 2010 by Karen 31 Comments

Just added to the list of “things I’d never thought I’d live to see” — funky clip-in hair extensions made to look like sports team logos.

These are made by an outfit called Sports Hair Styles and give women (or very brave long-haired dudes) an unconventional way to support their favorite team ($12.95 each).

For the patriotic, there’s even the US flag!

While these hair extensions aren’t exactly my style, I could see how sports fiends and/or cheerleaders could rock ’em and look legit.

Would you wear clip-in hair extensions to support your favorite team?

I would probably wouldn’t go there, but I could see how they’d work in the appropriate venue, LOL!

I love my regular extensions, they look awesome and blend in so it doesn’t scream “LOOK AT MY FAKE HAIR!” Of course, I would need to pick a favorite team to even sport them… but still it’s too fake looking for my taste.

I’ve actually never worn hair extensions before. I like the idea of them in funky punk colors (like a streak of hot pink!), but these take it to a whole new level!

I use them as a boost to my fine, yet wavy hair. No one ever notices, not even my own mom! I’ve got a couple of odd colors to add for events, like neon ones for “rave” parties and the colors of the roller derby team my boyfriend’s job sponsor. But I don’t think I could wear the colored ones everyday, let alone the ones above.

Yeah, I know lots of girls that love their extensions! Thank goodness for modern beauty technology. 🙂

LOL…I’d totally wear bust out some colorful ones just to go to the grocery store. There’s a lot of wacky style here, though, so I could get away with it without anybody noticing.

I hate to admit it, but I kinda like em LOL. Too bad I’ve been wearing a pixie cut for the last six months. 😛

I am strangely fascinated by these, I can’t lie. I dunno…maybe if my life had taken another path, I’d probably be wearing these in my hair, LOL!

I love clip in extensions but I’m not a sports fan. So while I wouldn’t wear them myself, I think it’s awesome if other people would 😉

they’re alright, but i would prefer fake lashes in team colours personally 😀

I’ve seen the England one on British beauty blogger – i think it makes more of a statement 🙂

Yaayyyy!! I love these – and WOULD seriously wear them during football season (well, assuming I could figure out how to use them since I have never tried extensions before), but only because I am a die-hard insane football fan. I do not think they would work unless you have legitimate football passion you are trying to express – otherwise they would be pretty lame.

THANK YOU for keeping an open mind! I find the best beauty products/tricks are those that really allow you to express yourself authentically, and when my team is on the field, I could do no better than these (and come on now, they are more tame than face paint!!)

I actually think bright colored extensions/clip ins can look really cool when done well but these … are just … bad. LOL.

I’m one of those I’ll tell you in the comments 🙂 I wear a headscarf and stuff so I wouldn’t be wearing them anyway! If I was passionate about sports and didn’t wear a headscarf this would be pretty fabulous though! Crazy but in a good way!!!

Having painted my face (just a logo, not my whole face) for games in college, I could definitely see wearing these. I think I’d wear them before I’d paint my face again. But then I’d have to make sure to straighten my curly hair before the game so that it would blend in and not look fake. 😉

I would probably wear one to a hockey game for the Canucks and I would have probably wore one with a Canadian flag during the Olympics back in February if I found some available. I think they would be fun for the right event and venue. These are supposed to be fake and fun to support your team and show national pride for the event.

AWE.SOME. I’m pulling out my credit card right now! 🙂 I’d totally wear them to a game…. or while watching a game on TV. I’d draw the line at grocery shopping with them in though. 🙂

I love colored hair extensions, even crazy ones like bright green or purple, but even these are a bit too crazy for me. Perhaps if I actually LIKED sports, I’d wear them… xD

    No thanks, not for me!
Plus I’ve got curly hair, would never blend in naturally! I’ll just wear a t-shirt or a hat to support the team 🙂

ps. anyone else excited for the World Cup??? I am!!!

These are all kinds of crazy! I’m dressing in the American Flag from head to toe this 4th of July, and those hair extensions are perfect. Karen, I didn’t see the flag extensions on the website, can you send me a link to where you found those?

ummm..no? Unless you’re at some sort of sporting event, cheering your team on or whatever, these hair extensions should never be worn! Buutt to those that do wear them, more power to u! I just don’t think I could pull them off probably because I just don’t like to stand out!

I would totally wear them to a football game. Just like a football jersey, you should only wear it to the actual sporting event or perhaps a Super Bowl party. We try to see my beloved Gmen at least once a year and we always wear all our Giants gear. I even have Giants helmet nail decals!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
