Gwen Stefani: Her Best Hair?

April 8th, 2009 by Karen 28 Comments

One of my favorite bands, No Doubt, is reuniting next month and going on tour, haay!

I’ve always loved their distinctive ska/punk/new wave sound.

I associate certain periods in my life with different No Doubt records… Rock Steady, for example, saw me through some serious early-20s growing pains!

But I like more than just their music. I’ve always admired Gwen Stefani’s sassy style.

Born Gwen Renee Stefani on October 3, 1969 in Anaheim, Cali, Gwen has never been afraid to take risks when it comes to her wardrobe or her hair — blonde, blue and sometimes pink. I have no doubt (ha!) she’ll always keep us guessing when it comes to her coif.

Which of Gwen's hairstyles do you like best?

I’ll be seeing them in concert! Woo! So excited. Gwen is so awesome. It’s fun to pretend to be her on Rock Band! 🙂

Oh my gosh, right before I clicked in to your site, I had, “Running” in my head! spooooky

I admire her so much for her talent and her style, ever since “I’m Just a Girl”, she’s been so unique and she sticks to it.

I love her #7 hair, she wears that look so well.

I LOVE No Doubt! Tragic Kingdom was definitely my all time favourite album! I always [and still kinda] wished I could grow up to be exactly like her 🙂

      Hi Briana,

LOL, I used to bite her style during the Tragic Kingdom years.

I still kinda wish I could grow up to be like her, too. 🙂

      Hi Gloria,

I know! It takes quite a confident woman to pull off half the stuff she does.

Remember her pink wedding gown? I wish I had the guts to rock that!

You picked my fave, #2! I love her with that hair. It’s so Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface.

Ya, I love her with bangs. She just looks so good with them! I did choose that one as I love the pictures in the album Sweet Escape. She should rock bangs more often.

      Hi Kate & Zena,

I agree! She always looks great, but for that period of time she looked phenomenal.

I kinda wish I could rock that hair, LOL!

Oh how cool! I bet that show was really fun. If you look at their website they have the tour dates… hopefully they’ll head to your neck of the woods. 🙂

Hm, I had a hair cut like that but my hair falls flat without layers (fine hair. ich). I have more the Anne Hathaway cut in The Devil Wears Prada after the make-over only it’s a tad shorter all around.

She did look phenomenal at the time though. It was right after she had her first child and the style really fit the style of music “Sweet Escape.” She’s a bit like Madonna where we see her hair change for each album. Madonna changes her entire style but I notice Gwen changes her hair for each album or stage of her life. I wish she had kept it and not grown out her fringe.

I think you could pull the Dark side version of Gwen Stefani blunt cut in #2 as your hair is a bit thicker than mine and you have the bone structure. I would suggest going with fringe that got longer near the ends of the face with you or the hair cut may be wearing you and not vice versa.

I adore the #9 style, even though I prefer to see her do wild stuff with her hair. Who else can pull it off and be super fab? Anyways, I totally didn’t know they were reuniting (I must’ve been living under a rock, lol!), but thanks for the heads up, buying tickets this week!!! Also, thanks for the inspiration; I have been trying to do something different with my hair!
