Get Your Paws On Aveeno Nourish+ Hair Care Collection Before Anybody Else

February 26th, 2009 by Karen 108 Comments

This giveaway is closed. Congrats to the winner, Liz. Thank you for entering!

aveeno nourish haircare giveaway

So Glam Media is sponsoring a giveaway that I thought you gals might dig.

Drugstore body care line Aveeno is famous for their soothing lotions. Well, they plan to launch their first hair care line, codenamed the Nourish+ Hair Care Collection, this April.

Trying new beauty products before they go on sale is like attending an exclusive movie screening, and the giveaway’s a chance to get an early look at Nourish+.

The prize

One lucky winner will get three products from the new line — Nourish+ shampoo, the regular conditioner and the new leave-in conditioner (a $21 value).

What Aveeno says about Nourish+

  • It’s revolutionary! — combining nature and science (like the Terminator) to bring damaged hair back to life in just three washes.
  • The Nourish+ Nourishing Wheat Complex has a positive electrical charge that attracts the negatively charged damaged parts of the hair follicle, delivering the right amount of proteins needed to help moisturize and repair dry hair.
  • The line includes Nourish + Moisturize, Nourish + Revitalize, and Nourish + Volumize shampoos and conditioners, as well as Nourish + Condition Leave-In Treatment ($7 each).
  • At last week’s Oscars in Los Angeles, Aveeno Nourish+ Hair Care Collection sponsored the Glam VIP Touch Up Lounge at the Leeza Gibbons Oscar party. Viewers received a backstage look at celeb hair touch-ups provided by Aveeno Nourish+.

How to enter

There are two ways to enter, and you can do both for two chances to win. The first involves leaving a comment here on this post — a comment about anything at all. Tell me about your worst hair style (mine was a bowl cut immediately followed by a tight poodle perm, oh the horror!), what food you’re craving right now or about your pet. The second involves signing up for my updates by email, if you haven’t already subscribed. You’ll get one email per day, exploding with sassy beauty and makeup updates!

Recap

  1. If you haven’t already signed up to receive Makeup and Beauty Blog daily email updates, then enter your email in the box below (or click this link).
  2. You may also enter by leaving a comment in the comments section at the bottom of this post (be sure to use a valid email address).

Enter your email address:

I’ll choose the winners at random among the people who enter by 11:59 PST on Friday, February 27.

Good luck!

Aveeno products really are good – I think I will try the shampoo and conditioner even if I DON’T win (which is most likely, unfortunately – I never win)! I’ve recently begun using their Intensive Relief Hand Cream and their Intensive Relief Body Cream – I got it in a giant tube that says it’s for overnight, and also a humongous tub that doesn’t say that. This stuff rocks – I highly recommend it – had to run right out and get a second hand cream to keep at work. And the body cream really, really lasts – both versions! I’m ancient (57) and my skin is really, really dry – my hands are almost beyond help! BUT…this stuff really works – and you can get it anywhere!

    Woo hoo!

Hi. i am so glad i get to write about anything. it has been a very emotional week for me. my cat, jobama is a sick little guy this week and although i have owned dogs during my entire childhood, i have never owned cats or was a cat person. i became a foster mother to joe black (who had his name changed to jobama after the recent election) and tiger about 10 years ago. i moved into an apt that had field mice and i heard that cats hated mice so it made sense. well, that was 10 years ago. today, jobama and tiger are the children i never had. i had no idea how special they have become until joe started looking and acting in a sickly manner. i have cried everyday this week because i am thinking that this might be the year i lose him. now i know nothing lasts forever but i thought i had a few more years to go with my child joey. it is not looking that way and i can not believe that i am going to be that person who has to grieve in 2009 over something that has definately taken a spot in my heart. he is the greatest guy and i love him to death. mind you, the doctors are still running tests and no one has confirmed anything to me. however, he is not looking right and to witness this everyday this week has taken a toll on me. so, ladies…enjoy a fabulous friday and stay looking fabulous. thank you so much for letting me get this off my chest.

My dad used to give me bowl cuts as a child. But my worst “professional” haircut was by the hairstylisht who either got bored with cutting or gave up towards the end of the cut & just sort of lopped off the side of my hair giving me “layers”. Yeah right.

Random comment – I am changing departments at work, and i am super busy. I hate when work cuts into my blog time.

Another one – I randomly entered a giveaway from Crabtree and Evelyn because I saw a link for it on a blog, and I never win anything but I always want to, and I won…a $250 gift card to crabtree and evelyn. Too bad it wasn’t like Sephora or Ulta though… but I am sure I will find some things that catch my eye. Maybe this means I’m now lucky enough to win some Aveeno haircare. 🙂

I have had a couple bad hair cuts, but MUCH worse color. I’ve been dying my hair since I was about 13 and have played a lot with different colors. The worst was when I had dyed it (myself) a deep burgundy, but it came out more Ronald McDonald red. After a few days it started to fade fast so I attempted to strip it by pouring tons of Hydrogen Peroxide over it. What I was left with was yellow and white hair that felt “chewy” it was SOOOO damaged! Of course this was on a Sunday so all salons were closed that day and Monday. Luckily my dad’s hair dresser was open Monday and took me in and dyed it back to a normal shade. That was the last time I dyed it myself, been going to salons now for 15 years and won’t ever go back!

My worst hairstyle was when I trimmed my own bangs two weeks before I started kindergarten. Actually, “trimmed” is not the word I’m looking for…it was more like “butchered”. They were basically longer on the sides with a huge chunk out of the middle. My kindergarten pic is proof.

My worst hairstyle was when I didn’t have the budget to touch-up my roots 🙁 I have curly hair but then I straightened it. I hate it when there’s wavy hair at the roots and straight from middle to end. YUCK!

I work at a dermatologist office and aveeno is a very good product. Branching off into hair care is great.

My worst hair cut ever was when I was 7yrs old, I blame my mom of course lol. It was the MULLET! “business in front, party in the back.” I’m just glad I didn’t have that cut when I was a teenager.

Lately my hair has been behaving badly with fizz and no shine. I use sunsilk for curls prone to fizz and to no avail, but then again I think it has to do with my thyroid problem. I hope that with the introduction of the aveeno haircare line that it’s a gift from the beauty gods.*_^

While growing up each summer my mom would take me and my sisters to the beauty salon and have our hair chopped into pixie haircuts then let it grow out til the next summer. Very easy for her but not very flattering on any of us and I’ve always said I will never let my hair get even close to a short hair cut.

I love the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion as it has done wonders for my extremely dry skin. Hope I get to try this as my hair is dry too!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
