Looking for a Gift for Dear Old Dad? Give Gucci By Gucci Sport Homme a Sniff

June 11th, 2010 by Karen 9 Comments

Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme

True story: Every once in a while my mom calls to complain about my dad bogarting her perfumes. Seriously, pops, I love you, but wearing the scent of a woman? — not so hawt.

With Father’s Day right around the corner, I’ve been sniffing around for a new scent for dear old dad, and my nose has really been liking Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme ($57 for a 1.6 oz bottle).

Inspired by the free spirit and power of the ocean, it’s the latest addition to Gucci’s family of fragrances for men, with notes of grapefruit, cardamom, fig nectar, and rich, woody patchouli. I think dad would like the scent, but I know he’d like the bottle, which feels hefty and solid in my hands.

I sprayed some on myself just for fun. Yup, it’s masculine, modern, not stuffy — a little like old school Cool Water but fresher with a citrusy edge. Guys who like scents that aren’t too spicy or heavy might dig this a lot.

Gucci by Gucci Sport Pour Homme

BONUS: Team Gucci says Sport Pour Homme lingers longer on the body than other fragrances. To this I say, “Hallelujah!” Let’s give men all the help they can get, ha! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I haven’t smelled that one! Have you sniffed Burberry Sheer Brit? That’s my fave. 🙂

Ok I know it’s weird, but DH and I hate most mens fragrances. He usually just gets a light citrusy body spray from Bath and Body (yes its the girls stuff) and wears that and then has people stop him to tell him how good he smells!

I dont have a dad anymore but the Hubs gets Fathers Day lovin’ from me and the furfam. This might work for him … so far he is very loyal to Reaction by Kenneth Cole… 🙂

Oooh there are so many beautiful perfumes for men out there! For fresh versions like this you can also check out Dior Homme Sport (starring hottie Jude Law), Givenchy Play (Helloooo Justin!), Versace Man eau Fraiche, Polo Blue, Dolce Gabanna Light Blue…yuuum! Though Valentino for Men and The One make my mouth water just by thinking of them. And yes, I-m working with perfumes, LOL!

That’s awesome, Marce! How are you liking your job?

BTW, I just smelled Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue for men and I love it!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
