Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge: A Feminine Fragrance for Chicks Who Get Sh*t Done

June 19th, 2015 by Karen 17 Comments

estee- auder modern muse le rouge

GIRL. If there’s one thing Estee Lauder does better than well it’s the fragrant stuff. They’re scent-sational. I’ve been wearing them for most of my adult life — Pleasures, Sensuous, Private Collection, Bronze Goddess and Modern Muse.

They have so many light and easy-to-wear fragrances! They don’t give me headaches (which happens sometimes with heavier fragrances), don’t overpower the room, and whenever I wear an Estee Lauder scent, inevitably, someone will ask me or comment about it.

Estee Lauder recently came out with an updated version of their already marvelous Modern Muse. It’s called Modern Muse Le Rouge, and mmm! *sniffs wrist* — I can’t get enough of it.

Modern Muse Le Rouge is a fruity floral oriental — feminine, full and daring, but still approachable. In other words, it doesn’t aggressively get up in your grill.

Official fragrance notes include Bulgarian rose, rose centifolia firabs (a hybrid rose), raspberry, bourgeon de cassis (black currant bud), pink pepper, saffron, Madagascar vanilla, patchouli, vetiver, jasmine and magnolia.

Unofficial fragrance notes include an impeccably cut black suit worn with dainty jewelry, glossy red pedicures, a surprise delivery of roses to your front door, and strutting down the street in three-inch heels with all eyes on you. 🙂

The 1.7-oz. bottle here is $82, and you can find it now at Estee Lauder counters and online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Rose scents are my ultimate favorite, except for maybe Jasmine. This sounds potentially very interesting!

Alas, my husband is allergic to rose scents. The lips necklace in the picture is adorable! Where did you get it?

My 5th grade teacher wore Youth Dew, an old Estee Lauder fragrance. Every time I pass a EL counter I must stop and visit Mrs. Fox!! Next time I’ll check out your new favorite too. 🙂

Ohh that sounds really nice! I know I’ve smelled Modern Muse and I liked it. My birthday was a couple days ago and my mom bought me Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. It’s a straight floral, but OMG it smells so beautiful! I really like EL’s fragrances, too!

I have Modern Muse samplers and Modern Muse Chic full size bottle, and love them both. Also love their Sensuous Nude (my favorite winter time perfume), and Pleasures (which reminds me of my BFF who now lives continents away) :).

Hello Karen, I wanted to say congratulations on your website. I do not remember how I stumbled upon it, but I am glad I did . I love the reviews you post and how you mix it up with fashion, food, and kitty love. I am also a fellow tabby mom and share the same passion for cats as you. I wanted to know, what is the brand of the necklace on this post? I find it very interesting.

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
