$6 NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies: For a Quick Hit of Hydrating Color That Won’t Break the Bank

Hey, you, buddy. Yeah, you, the person who invented these bunny stunna shades.

Thank you. 🙂

I can’t even begin to tell you much joy these things have brought me over the past few days. You couldn’t possibly understand, but then I am incredibly easily amused (it’s a lifestyle).

Like the stunna shades, these new NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippies are also packaged in plastic. They’re $6 a pop, new for spring, and come in 12 unscented, unflavored shades that are shiny, moisturizing and sheer, although adding more layers does ramp up the intensity.

Unfortunately, they only last about an hour for me…which isn’t great, but my lips are always dry, and I’ve got a thing for sheer pencil-type lipsticks, balms and glosses like these (that don’t require sharpening, as these are twist-ups. Gooooo laziness!), so right now I’ve got two of them in my purse, a reddish shade called Sex on the Beach and a brown nude named Happy Buddha.

Good for weekends and other casual lip looks.

They remind me of the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks, but are slightly more pigmented and slightly less moisturizing (not that they aren’t hydrating; just not as much as Neutrogena’s).

Dry-lipped gals, first off, I feel ya pain! Second, with these, you might need a little extra help from a balm.

All 12 shades are sitting pretty at Ulta stores and online at nyxcosmetics.com.

Do you think these are more or less hydrating then the Revlon Balm Stains?

Just one hour of wear time’s too bad. But I really like the fact these are twist up! Hate sharpening jumbo pencils!

I’m almost…lip crayoned out? I’m not wowed enough by the moisturization of any brand’s version, but the convenience always wins me over and I want to try more.

These seem nice but from past experience NYX products aren’t my cup of tea.

Those glasses are TOO cute!! These lippies were sounding great until the hour long wear time. That’s absolutely terrible lol. I would have grabbed a few if they actually lasted. The formula sounds pretty decent

Sex on the Beach seems like a nice, casual red 🙂 I’m hooked on Clinique’s Chubby Sticks, so I zeroed in on this post for more info as soon as I saw it! 😀

I got sex on the beach and the other orange color (can’t remember the name) yesterday during the 30% off sale.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
