Better Together: Maybelline Stormy Sahara Colorsensational Lipstick and Neutrogena Healthy Peach MoistureShine Gloss

June 3rd, 2014 by Karen 15 Comments

I stumbled on this lip combo last weekend while I was rifling around in my purse looking for something to wear with the warm neutral eye brown look I did with the Smashbox Full Exposure eye palette.

It was kind of like an epiphany. I saw the products together and thought, “Huh. I wonder…”

I love that you can find both Maybelline Stormy Sahara Lipstick and Neutrogena Healthy Peach MoistureShine Gloss at the drugstore (yay for affordable beauty products!).

I think this combo gives just enough nude peachy color to my lips without looking too nude, ya know what I mean?

And to kick it up a notch, you could add a lip liner like MAC Subculture or Staunchly Stylish. I bet either of those would look really pretty.

Ooh! Coincidentally, speaking of really pretty, the Hourglass Sunset/Mood Lighting cheek combo from the other day looks fab with this look.

I absolutely love that nude lip on you! I have been wearing MAC Spice lip pencil over a dull pink/nude glossy lipstick and it looks amazing atleast to me! 🙂

This is a great combo. I tend to prefer my nudes glossy. Or at least of the shiny lipstick variety. My most recent favorite combination is Buxom Sydney topped with NARS Giza. A little bit of pinky nude with a little bit of peachy nude. Perfect balance.

Oh, that sounds so beautiful! Love me some NARS Giza. I’ll have to look up Sydney. Do you use a lip liner too?

I rarely use liner. Sometimes I’ll do liner and a gloss, but I haven’t worn it consistently. I’d like to challenge myself to find a way I really appreciate lip liner though. Have you tried the Buxom Full-On Lipsticks? I really enjoy the formula.

Ya know, I used to skip it all the time, too, but I’ve come to really appreciate it and love it. It really does seem to help makeup last longer. Plus, when you do makeup on other people, it makes applying lipstick and gloss sooooo much easier.

I don’t think I’ve tried those Buxom lippies yet. You know what they say…so many lipsticks, so little time. Is Sydney your fave? I

A good nude is tough to find so I do enjoy Sydney. I also have Acapulco as a Radiant Orchid. Barcelona is next on my list. A girl can never have enough reds! Have you seen the True Nude Lip Foundation yet? I’ll definitely be checking those out.

This is true. Reds are elegant and always in style. 🙂

I’ve walked by the True Nudes at Sephora but truth be told haven’t been too motivated to swatch. I get distracted by all the pretty, pretty colors. Did you guys have a Becca counter yet?

It’s a really nice combo on you! Just peachy enough to keep it from being too flat.

      Hi Clara,

It’s by Kate Spade and it’s a few years old. I love her jewelry. 🙂

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
