You’ll Sparkle for the Holidays with Les Scintillances De Chanel

October 26th, 2011 by Karen 34 Comments

Chanel Collection Les Scintillances De Chanel
Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder, $72

With my in-laws visiting, I’ve been splitting my time this week among three adults and a demanding tabby. The adults I’ve been able to handle, but the tabby — oh, the tabby. While my father-in-law went to pick up the pizza we ordered for dinner, Tabs insisted that I take pictures of these pieces from Chanel’s holiday collection, Les Scintillances De Chanel.

He’s such a ho for Coco. 🙂

The collection has been sparkling on counters and computer monitors for a little while (it’s also available online). I have some reviews planned and a couple of looks lined up over the next few days.

What do ya think of the Lumiere Sculptee de Chanel Highlighting Powder? Isn’t the pattern on the pan intriguing? It looks almost Baroque to me…or maybe Aztec. Cool, yah?

Thanks for the drool-worthy photos! I’d love to get brave enough to sport that divine red in Triomphal.

Kitty bosses can be so demanding! But hey, they keep us on our toes 🙂
This collection just makes me go “eeee! ” like a little schoolgirl, bouncing on balls of my feet and doing little jazz hands in excitement. Chanel just knows how to do shimmer and shine. With some companies, glitter shadows and glosses seem like they picked the color, then just added glitter. With Chanel it’s more like the glitter is part of the color, and it’s just so much prettier!
I like the individual shadows, and love the highlighting powder (though I’d hate to use it and ruin the design, its gorgeous!) and there’s also the gold eyeliner and I think a pink lip laque that I love that you don’t have in these swatches. I cant wait to be rich and live in Paris and buy Chanel all the time!!

I am dying for that lipstick! Looks absolutely gorgeous! I literally laughed out loud when I read, “He’s such a ho for Coco.” so funny! I think I’ll pick up that lippie here soon, but I did splurge on some dior and ysl recently…something about the luxury make up that just feels so worth it!

Wow- I love the lacy pattern on the highliter and I’m always looking for pigmented glosses, the red one is amazing. The lipstick looks so vibrant in the tube and so sheer in the swatch- I’m all turned around, in a good way.

Sparkle D’or is gorgeous in the tube, but idk I guess it looks like a layering shade! I’ve never had a Chanel Glossimer before and I want to try one, but I keep waiting for an LE one that really grabs me. Some people compare them in terms of the gorgeous sparkle to Dazzleglasses but the Chanel is actually a better value.

Triomphal. Need it. It’s hard to imagine that I used to be so afraid of red lips. Now, my collection can’t stop growing! I am a ho for Coco right along with Tabs. We should start a support group. I even keep all of my Chanel separate from the rest of my makeup at home, lest she be traumatized or damaged in some way. LOL

The collection doesn’t excite me as much as their pre-Fall collection did. 🙁 That being said, Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Triomphal is gooooorgeous.

Is the glossimer similiar to Wild Rose by any chance? I adored that shade! Enviree looks very nice as well.

Why does Chanel have to be so classy and beautiful… and expensive!? I only wish I had the money to buy $72 highlighters and $30 lipglosses. Maybe I’ll just buy one…

By the way, did I miss seeing the results of the Sephora gift card drawing? It’s been a while since the entry deadline.

Hi Selina, I just put it up. Sorry it’s taken me so long. With Beauty Social last week and the in-laws staying with us I’ve fallen been a little behind.

Hope your having a nice Friday so far. 🙂

Just FYI Karen, it looks like you mislabeled the final swatch pic. Beige Lamé looks to me to be on the right, not the left.

I absolutely loved this collection! I got Beige Lamé Ombre Essentielle, Lumière Sculptée de Chanel Highlighting Powder, Triomphal Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss, Sweet Beige Glossimer, Rouge Carat Le Vernis, and Empire Rouge Allure Laque. I’m still trying to decide on Envirée.

The highlighting powder is gorgeous and the design was taken from a belt buckle that Coco wore. It can also be used as a eyeshadow.
