The Lust List, Vol. 6: Stuff I Kinda Want

April 25th, 2017 by Karen 16 Comments

Connor Claire, my darling, if you’re reading this…well, it means that you’re a genius baby who can read at 13 months, and your baby brain may or may not be busy hatching various and sundry plots to rule the world.

If it’s the former, as a courtesy to the woman who endured 37 hours of labor to bring you into this world, please leave mommy out of your nefarious plots. Also, please feel free to take note of the items in this week’s Lust List, and pass them along to daddy in case he needs Mother’s Day gift ideas.

  1. Jardiniere Infuser Water Bottle ($34) — How pretty is this?! It’s a glass water bottle with a detachable, reusable infuser for steeping tea or flavoring H2O with fresh fruit, herbs or whatever.

    I ? it.

  2. Pet Study Trinket Dishes in Sleeping Cat and Sitting Cat ($12 each) — I’m pretty sure El Hub will find a way to accidentally break these adorable kitty trinket trays (like a bull ? in a china shop), but until the day of their demise, I’d want to store rings and earrings in them.
  3. Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Beauty Glow ($75) — This palette seems like a great way to get to know Charlotte Tilbury, yes?
  4. Byredo Mojave Ghost Eau de Parfum ($230) — I’ve been a Gypsy Water girl for a few years now, but when I ran across Mojave Ghost while shopping at Space NK last weekend, I doused myself in half a bottle (no joke) because it smelled THAT GOOD.

The official fragrance notes are ambrette (top note); magnolia, sandalwood and violet (middle notes); and cedar wood, chantilly musk and crisp amber (bottom notes). Unofficial notes include great hair days, coming in first, and the freedom to do whatever you want to do whenever you want to do it. 🙂

  5. BoseQuiet Comfort 35 Wireless Headphones ($350) — At the dentist’s office a couple weeks ago, I tried on my first pair of Bose Noise Canceling Headphones, and now I’m 100% sure that they’re the cure for long, uncomfortable work trips.

    Sure are expensive, though…

  6. Misa Jewelry Water Lily Earrings ($750) and Misa Jewlery Branch Ear Crawlers with Diamonds ($1,125) — And because we’re daydreaming here, so nothing is off limits, I would also LOVE some sparkly things from Misa Jewelry.

How ’bout you? Whatchu got on your lust list?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

All I have to say is, Bose headphones are the best and they’re a bargain compared to the Misa jewelry. 😉
Seriously, my Bose headphones are so comfortable. I’ve tried other brands, but the sound quality and comfort of the Bose work the best for me.

Byredo perfume is amazing! I was also very tempted to buy Mojave Ghost when I tried it on!!!! I regretted not buying it when I was in Stockholm…..it’s about 30% cheaper than in the US -__- (I did stock up on my Blanche and Super Cedar….so silver lining lol)

      Hey JP,

Have you tried Byredo Gypsy Water? It’s AMAZING! My fave out of all of them. I need Mojave Ghost in my life.

Also check out AKG, it’s an Austrian professional headphone brand. It is one of the best and decently priced. Bose is way too over-priced (at least the low/mid range stuff)…not to mention incredibly ugly lol

Get them headphones Karen! They’re really worth it. I have the white ones (non-wireless). I love how they look. I use them on long plane rides or when Mr. Man is playing his (metal) guitar and I need to be writing.

I’m all about Misa too! One day! Also that Mojave Ghost sounds amazing!

In the realm of possibility wants, I really want to get the rest of NARS CG collection and some stuff from The Ordinary. Plus a million fragrances… UG.

As for the impossible, I really need a lengthy vacation. Preferably somewhere with a beach and crystal clear water. Italy, Tulum, Costa Rica, or NZ… not picky!

I really want a infuser bottle. I like putting fruit in my water. That Charlotte Tilburry palette looks gorgeous! It’s still a brand that I haven’t tried yet.

Sigh, sigh… I think I have an extended list but hoping I can narrow it down. I need some summer clothes – this statement alone is a disaster. I’m quietly waiting for the sales though- if you’ve noticed, I used the generic term clothes rather than a skirt etc. ?

Makeup wis I’m waiting for the Bronze Goddess collection by EspteeLauder and the summer collection by Chanel. Mhmm, also the Becca Bronzers look interesting?

Re Charlotte Tilbury, that’s a great palette but maybe swatch it first Karen as I’m NC30 right now and the eyeshadows look soft on me. Not sure how much use I’ll make of this when I tan? The bronzer – I suspect- will be a bit too light and the eyeshadows way too natural. But then again it’s summer, so why have more bronzer and very intense eyes. Depends on your taste, I’d love to hear your thoughts when you get it.

I have that Charlotte Tilbury palette and it’s the BEST travel palette EVER. It has all of your powders in one place, and the quality is beautiful. I love the shades, but I’m quite fair. If you have darker skin, she does offer a deeper version, though I think the bronzer is the same. http://www.charlottetilbury.com/us/instant-look-in-a-palette-seductive-beauty.html

I thought I didn’t have too much want list right now, but I apparently do, a couple things that were sold out during the sephora sale I guess, plus a few things from other places.

    Hourglass Vanish Stick in Ivory
Nars matte concealer pot in vanilla
Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream
    Clinique Fresh Pressed cleanser packets
    La Belle Lune Oil
Colourpop highligher in monster(i’ve hit pan on this one).
A Lifeproof case for my new iphone 6s
And some cute printed tees for spring.

The minimalist in me wants buy that CT palette, declutter my makeup stash and keep only that, foundation, concealer, tinted brow gel and mascara. How easy would getting ready be?!

The makeup addict in me says a few choice words for even thinking such things.

You need to get to know Charlotte Tilbury. I’m obsessed. But I echo Colleen. With your colouring, you might start with the seductive beauty palette. 🙂

Oh my gosh Karen! Those earrings! ❤️ Love them! Have you seen the jewellery by Millie Savage? She is an Aussie lady living in Bali and her jewellery is AH-MAZING! Her opal rings and earrings are gorgeous! https://www.instagram.com/milliesavage_/

My ear phones aren’t Bose, but work pretty well at nouse cancelling and save me on business trips and when working in loud environments. I need quiet to focus, and that is rare with two kids around.

Those cat trinket dishes are so cute! I love that water bottle too. So pretty and I like how you can infuse different flavors. That would definitely help me drink more water!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
