The Benefits of Benefit Holiday 2009

October 8th, 2009 by Karen 24 Comments

benefit-holiday-2009-best-of-sets

Sweeeeet! EVEN MORE holiday goodness coming at ‘cha, this time from Benefit Cosmetics.

Remember their Crescent Row fragrance sets and makeup kits? If they caught your eye, check out the company’s Holiday 2009 sets.

The Glam Eyes, Sexy Starlet and Tainted Love sets each come with heavily discounted Benefit bestsellers (full sizes, not samples) like…

Glam Idol Best of Benefit Set

What: Four pieces for face, lips and cheeks.
How much: $60 (but it’s a $74 value)
Where: Check your local Benefit counter or browse online
What you get:

  • That Gal Primer
  • California Kissin Lip Shine
  • Posie Tint Lip and Cheek Stain (LOVE!)
  • A stylin’ clutch purse

Sexy Starlet Best of Benefit Set

What:A sassy set four-piece set for face, cheeks and eyes.
How much: $58 (a $74 value)
Where: Benefit counters and online
What you get:

  • Coralista Cheek Powder
  • Some Kinda-a Gorgeous Oil-Free Foundation
  • Badgal Lash Mascara
  • A cute clutch purse

Tinted Love

What: A two-piece set for lips and eyes.
How much: $38 (a $58 value)
Where: Exclusively at Sephora stores and online
What you get:

  • Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain
  • Pocket Pal (a double-ended duo; one side with Benetint and the other a clear gloss)

🙂 I love the holidays and all of the cool cosmetics sets that drop. Considering that each of these comes with full-size products, they seem like pretty good bargains.

Speaking of bargains, I think I’m addicted to Hulu.com. I’d heard about it from different people, but until this week I had no idea they had so many shows! It almost makes cable unnecessary, right?

What are you up to? I’m surfing unclutterer.com right now, looking for organizational ideas…

Hope you’re having a good night. Tabs says “Pip, pip, cheerio!” 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Hulu is seriously my HG website. I hope it never goes away. I don’t have cable or even pick up any channels on my tv, so Hulu is definitely where it’s at! I love watching The Daily Show or even old, awesome shows like Firefly. It has so much goodness. Mmmm.

I feel like I could get the most use out of Tinted Love. What about you?

      Hi Kim,

Oh, totally! I’ve never owned a Pocket Pal, but I’m guessing I could easily finish one. 🙂

I’m so glad it’s Friday. Got any plans for the weekend?

I have a huge TV (live with the parents) – but still end up watching my shows on my little laptop. What can I say, True Blood wouldn’t go over well with my Dad hahah. Hulu works for people in the US, I’m in Canada so I use http://www.surfthechannel.com instead.

      Hi Shiny,

LOL, I could never watch True Blood with my folks. I’d be a little more than mortified!

Ooh! Holiday sets are such a good deal and I love me a deal! =) I can’t wait to check these sets out in person. I saw them at my local Sephora but I was too enamored by the new Illamasqua stuff they had out.

I don’t own ANY Benefit! I’m planning a Christmas haul. I want to buy (or inherit XD) a ridiculous amount of stuff like palettes and on-the-go things among stationary brushes. I have my travel set, which has served me well but I only own two real brushes that stay at home: Sonia Kashuk flat-top blush brush and her medium crease brush. Both are amazing, but I need other brushes too!

Does it bother anyone else that some eyeshadow quads are called palettes? I don’t think anything under 6 shadows should be labeled a ‘palette.’ Maybe that’s just me. lol. I feel like I’m getting the short end of a stick if it’s under 6!

I just plan on snuggling up and watching movies this weekend. The weather has been a total disaster in our area! (here’s my area: http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=srx&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no ) It should pass through overnight but it’s still chilly and rainy. How about you?

I agree with Kim! I started watching Hulu when it launched and I’m impressed at how it’s taken off!
I don’t own any Benefit, either. But that’s what Christmas this year is for! 🙂

hulu’s awesome! we actually got rid of cable a while back (in March I think) and hulu’s been a “lifesaver”. We have an antenna so we still get network broadcasts and we do have netflix….but there are several show I watch regularly on hulu. 🙂

Girl, you’ve got to be careful with Hulu… one minute you’re catching up on an episode you missed, next it’s 11 o’clock at night! Wait, maybe that’s just me…

Wish I could take a little bit of everything from each of those sets!

I agree about True Blood comments. Once my parents were walking by while I was watching an episode and uh well you know how Jason stackhouse is…. it felt a little awkward but my Dad thought it looked cool because he walked by later when they were showing a fight between some of the vamps.

I want Tinted Love; I’ve wanted Benetint for so long and that is a deal/steal I would get!
One question, though…are all products/packages/gift sets sold at international Sephora locations?

All these sets are so cute! I’m already figuring out which ones I can buy and give to friends. I own so much makeup that I don’t feel I can buy more for myself, but it’s okay if you’re buying it for someone else, right?

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
