Ready, Set, Bow! Tarte’s $49 Bow and Go 3-in-1 Gift Set Makes Gift Giving Easier

Tarte Bow and Go 3-in-1 Gift Set
One of the three boxed kits you get in the $49 Tarte Bow and Go gift set

Tarte Bow and Go boxes
Just add bow and go!

MBB FUN FACT: Despite my love for Biggie and Tupac, I can’t rap worth a damn, but when it comes to wrapping — as in gift wrap — I do alright, if I do say so myself. 🙂

I owe it all to the extensive training I received as an Emporium Capwell gift wrapper in the winter of ’92.

GURL, don’t make me take out my scissors, ’cause I will wrap those boxes like WHOA! (Complete with swirly curly ribbons.)

The $49 Tarte Bow and Go 3-in-1 gift set, which actually has a pretty cool schtick, comes with a gold ribbon (not shown in any of these pics), and I was all set to tie it around the three included gift boxes, but wouldn’t you know it? Tabs took off with the ribbon, and now it’s MIA.

Story of my life…

You’re supposed to tie the ribbon around the boxes (all of them, or just one if you plan to break up the set), add your to/from tag and BAM! — you’re done. A gift on the go.

If I were a grumpier gal, I’d probably go on and on about the lost art of gift wrapping, and how I’ve got nothing but love for this set because 1) I think the colors are gorgeous, and 2) it’s a pretty good price, considering that you could get three gifts out of it for about $16 each ($49 for the whole set).

I always have a soft spot for Tarte and their wacky claims. 🙂 This packaging is terrific and the “just add a bow” marketing is very clever.

I’m a fan of wrapping, too. But only when things are boxed. All the oddly shaped and plastic clamshelled products are a nightmare!

Oooooh the lippies look amazing but the palette is a tad boring for me… I can’t propperly wrap anything, btw. But I do find the prettiest boxes around, so I just have to toss the gifts inside.

I am INSANELY jealous of all the goodies you have in the US! I doubt this kit will ever be available in the UK 🙁

    Karen-

I so miss the Emporium! I could always find something there. I worked at the one in stonestown while I was in college. I worked in support–as in bras and girdles. I was a certified bra fitter.

Wish the Emporium, I. Magnin, J. Magnin, Livingston’s, Roos-Atkins, City of Paris, and who-am-I-missing would all come back. Especially I. Magnin. I had hoped to be buried under the first floor Cosmetic Dept. I bought my first Erno Lazlo (I was a 9:30 o’clock) at age 19 there.

I’m a very good gift wrapper myself and I actually enjoy it. My Dad used to let me wrap my own pre-boxed presents–under supervision, of course, so no peeking. What the parents didn’t know was that my sister and I would open then and try things on when they went out and we could rewrap without leaving any evidence. My mother never believed we did that when we told her in later years. We go away with a lot!

I love this!! I do wish the LipSurgence were of the Matte variety but the kit in general is a great mix of different shades.

Gift wrapping is one of my favourite activities during the holiday season, call me a dork but it’s fun!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my almost-three-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my kitty supermodel cat (Tabs).
