New Dolce and Gabbana Makeup for Spring 2010: The Intimate Sensuality Collection

January 15th, 2010 by Karen 32 Comments

Heya, girls. If you’re in the middle of planning your spring makeup wardrobe, you might want to squirrel a penny or two (or 10,000) away for Dolce and Gabbana‘s newest makeup range, The Intimate Sensuality Collection.

If you like roses, flowers and all things femme, this line of luxury makeup could put a dent in your pocketbook. Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana drew the color palette’s inspiration from Sicily’s wild roses and the lush, floral prints in their spring 2010 runway collection. Expect to see the 14-piece release for eyes, lips, face and nails at Dolce and Gabbana makeup counters in March.

Take a look at the pictures below, check out the full collection list and let me know if anything catches your eye. 🙂

Okay… This is going to sound terrible, but…those colors don’t seem very…youthful.

That’s the best way I could say it tactfully. I’ve actually never tried D&G makeup before. I bet it goes on well at least.

Really? I am kinda feeling the purples and pinks, but then again I’m a sucker for those colors. Happy Friday!

The only thing I don’t like is the Glam lipstick (that would be WAY too goth on me). The others are just gorgeous!

Ya know, in the right context you could probably pull off Glam… maybe if you were doing a ’90s look!

I think, upon further inspection, that my problem might be the packaging. If I focus my eyes on just the makeup, the colors look good.

It’s just all that shiny gold! 🙂

The gold is one of those things you either love or hate, methinks. I kinda dig it…

I love the idea with lipstick promo photos. I don’t have anything from D&G makeup yet. I don’t know why. Maybe because I spend way too much on other brands 🙂
    Have a great Friday 😉

Love the quad in Petal and the lipsticks in Glam and Petal.

Also is it just me, or do we seem to referencing the last few decades with some of the collections I’m seeing lately? I mean MACS All Ages etc. line reminds me of the 90’s. This one reminds me of the 80’s a bit. Not the Glam lipstick though. Although I had a revlon (I think it was revlon) lipstick in the 80’s that was an awesome greyish purple color that I lurrrvvved. The lipstick reminds me of the early 2000’s when we all woke up and realised that lip and nail color could be crazy colored and dangerous.

No the awesome lipstick wasn’t Revlon, it was a Loreal Lipstick and it was the best color. Dang! I wish I could remember the name……..

Oh and too there was the Covergirl collection of eyeshadows that I bought in every color. The green quad had gold glitter, the amethyst had silver, the blue had silver and the brown had gold. Oooo this whole thing has led me on a trip down makeup memory lane…………

I personally agree with Trisha that the colors don’t look very “youthful” but for me that’s a huge part of it’s appeal! I think they look a bit more mature and sophisticated where lately I feel I’m being inundated with an array of candy kind of colors that really don’t appeal to me. For the color choices, I would swoop up this collection in a heartbeat but I am way more of a budget beauty kind of girl and I just couldn’t justify the prices. Those shadows better last me the rest of 2010 for $59!!!

I love your blog! I came across it a while ago, and it’s just wonderful! Yesterday, I just finished talking myself out of buying some D&G cosmetics from Saks.com, since I am no where near a counter and swatches are hard to find online, and shipping to Canada is pretty ridiculous. I told myself, “Wait until you go to Italy!! It will more fun that way!” But that is probably a year away, and this collection looks so pretty! The eyeshadow quad!

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
