Korres Raspberry Liquid Lipstick Swatches and a Friday Hello

September 10th, 2010 by Karen 23 Comments

korres raspberry liquid lipstick swatches

Today when I asked myself if I should stop by Sephora on my lunch break, the answer hit me like one of Zeus’s thunderbolts: “Of Korres!”

Korres, the Greek maker of natural skincare, color and body products, has been piquing my interest lately. Here are swatches of the colors in their Raspberry Liquid Lipstick line ($22 each).

Pretty, yah?

I only discovered them last week, but already my lips are in lurve — with everything from the colors to their high-gloss shine and comfy, non-sticky texture. A+

It was a comment on my initial look at these from reader MKDallas that prompted me to hit Sephora. She was surprised how much the colors didn’t fit the shade descriptions on Sephora’s website, and I have to agree. Hopefully the above swatches help.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Triisostearin, Hydrogenated Polydecene, C18-70 Polyisoprene, Microcrystalline Wax, Glycerin, VP/ Eicosene Copolymer, Diisostearoyl Polyglyceryl-3 Dimer Dilinoleate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Beta Sitosteryl (Octadecene/MA) Copolymer, Myristyl Trisiloxane, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, C30-45 Alkyl Dimethicone, Silica Silylate, Phenoxyethanol, Stearalkonium Bentonite, Cetyl Dimethicone, Punica Granatum Sterols, Potassium Sorbate, Lauryl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Propylene Carbonate, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Ethyl Vanillin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Zinc Oxide, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Oil, Caprylyl Methicone, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-t-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Tin Oxide. [+/- (May Contain) Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Carmine, Red 6, Red 7, Red 7 Lake, Red 22 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Red 30 Lake, Blue 1 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Yellow 6 Lake].

So how do you feel about Korres (I’m becoming a big fan)?

Doing anything fun tonight? Other than relaxing and catching up on trashy reality TV, I may flip through some furniture catalogues. I’ve been living here in Novato for a full year and still have an empty dining room (I mean EMPTY, as in no table, chairs, light fixtures — nothing). Home decorating stresses me out, so I keep putting it off, le sigh.

If you have any interior design tips or decorating suggestions, I’d love to hear ’em.

How are things out your way? Anything new to report?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I am all dressed up looking max cute but my boyfriend is off fixing a broken down car. I’m hoping my cuteness will make him want to go out to dinner at some point (probably In N Out if he gets home late, haha). But that is what I’m doing right now. Just a lazy Friday.

I love these liquid lipsticks. I love liquid lipstick in general. So, Stila vs Korres? Which do you like better?

Oh I love Korres :)I swatched these at Sephora a couple of days back and loved it; but since I did a major Pacifica and UD haul, I let this go 🙁 I have their lip butters and they are awesome! Btw, you can probably check our Ikea’s latest catalog for some furniture ideas 🙂 It’s pretty cool! 🙂

How exciting to see my name in your post, lol! I do love my Nude Beige lippie and took it out for a spin the other other day; great pigmentation, decent lasting power and very unique texture on the mouth. It’s cool (almost like cold water) and not at all sticky. One thing I love about these is the lack of shimmer; as pretty as Chanel Rouge Allure Lacques & Dior Creme de Glosses are, both brands are somewhat frosty. Karen, will you be swatching any of the Chanel Soho collection? I have been burning thru the beauty blogs trying to find some (specifically for the lipstick and the lacque), to no avail. Totally off topic, but OMG, only 2 more sleeps til the season finale of True Blood…then 9 months of crushing Sunday night boredom until Season 4 fires up.

I’ve tried a few things from Korres and am currently using their Yogurt Cream, which I really like. These look so pretty!

Just hanging around this evening putting together a list for grocery shopping tomorrow. Sunday I’m taking a sushi making class, which should be lots of fun, and at some point I may FORCE MYSELF (yeah, right, like I need forcing) to go check out the new ULTA store that just opened up in Santa Rosa. If I can’t get a Sephora up here, that should do quite nicely.

We have lived in Houston for two years and still have no bed (just that crappy metal frame that comes with the mattress), and our nightstands are moving boxes. But our guest suite is awesome. I think we are finally going to buy some bedroom furniture.

I don’t know what your style or budget is, but we like to hit small, local shops as much as possible to look for unique items. We got our dining room table from a small, family-run business that imports some architectural salvage-type stuff from Mexico. The top is a solid piece of wood wrapped in hammered copper, and it weighs a million pounds, but I am going to lobby for taking it with us when we eventually move because I love it so much. The chairs are leather parsons chairs — I like the contrast between the handmade/slightly rough table and the sleek, contemporary chairs.

I have never tried anything by Korres, but those nude shades look like they might be AMAZING! I am on a constant hunt for the perfect nude lip … thingy since Benefit took away The Gloss in Big Magic. I’m sure it’s been years at this point, but my bitterness is timeless.

And um, my dining room table was salvaged from a dumpster, so I do not think that you want my decorating advice. O.o Hey, it’s ECO-FRIENDLY, okay?

do these lippies taste like raspberries? Is that the reason behind the name? Or maybe the smell. . . lol I’m not a huge fan of scented lippies but I’ll give these a look at my local sephora if the smell isn’t too overpowering 🙂

I’m a total sucker for berry-colored hues, so that swatch in the middle is calling out to me, hahaha!

Currently, I am putting off homework and willing myself to be productive. It’s not working 😀

I’m so glad u did a review on these. I saw them briefly my last trip to Sephora but I was in a hurry. I’ve been looking for a nice raspberry color to wear out at night in a gloss because I’m more into gloss than lipstick. I just got the Cyndi lipglass from Mac and I loOove it but I still wanted something pinker. I’m so excited to try these out now.

I loooooooooove Korres! I haven’t tried anything by them that I didn’t like! In fact, their Guava body wash and body butter are probably my HG bath products. They’re my fav line for body care stuff hands down, and the face products I’ve used have been excellent as well.

I adore Korres skincare, but haven’t tried much of their cosmetics yet. The lip butters are lovely, so I think these liquid lipsticks are going to be a must-try!

I love Korres. I am seriously in love with their Lip Butters.

And as far as decorating goes, I know what you mean…I was afraid of picking stuff that I would end up hating. Just be confident and go for it! : ) I’m sure whatever you pick out will be great – from what I can tell on here, you have great taste!

I haven’t tried anything from Korres, but these are very nice. I’m currently on the hunt for the most moisturizing lip product I can find. As the weather gets cooler, I’m drying out like a prune! I know this is sacrilege but, at this point, I don’t even care about the color. I just need relief! 🙂

These are so pretty! I think I might buy myself red and berry as a slightly belated birthday present to myself. I want that little Beauty Insider birthday kit Sephora offers! iuuuu2qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqs adds Tigger, lol.

I actually like my Ikea dining room table, haha. It’s surprisingly solidly built for the price (ikea.com says it’s $150). I like that it has two drop leaves so that it’s relatively small (it just barely seats 4) but can fit two more if necessary. However, Ikea tables are pretty minimalist and modern, so if you want something more elegant, just check out different places. Google is your friend, lol. Furniture places tend to have good sales coinciding with holidays, so you may want to go shopping MLK weekend. 🙂

Omg, they are very expensive outside Greece! They cost almost 10 € in Greece, which is like 13,5 dollars.!

    Anyway, great swatch!
