Illamasqua Swatch O’ Rama

July 28th, 2009 by Karen 30 Comments

illamasqua reviews all

It’s a British invasion, yea! 🙂

Last week Illamasqua cosmetics became available for purchase on Sephora.com, and I’m guessing I’m not the only Yank who couldn’t wait to grab some goodies from the upstart makeup line.

Hallelujar for NOT having to pay international shipping, right?

I feel like I’ve been waiting for frickin’ Godot to see this day, and when the UPS dude showed up at my doorstep I snatched that package out of his hands with a quickness normally reserved for Nordstrom shoe sales and In N’ Out cheeseburgers.

Let me know what you think from these swatches. Reviews will be coming soon. 🙂

The eyeliner looks gorgeous! Is it really pigmented or sheer?

I’ve loved all of the products that you’ve reviewed/swatched. I’m waiting for my Pro membership to come through, then I’m buying as much as I can.

    Thanks, Karen!

I want that eyeliner! So gorgeous. I hate that every colored eyeliner I’ve found so far is so sheer! HOpefully this one’s different!

Awesome haul Karen! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these goodies.

Glad that you are watching season 2 of True Blood. This past Sunday’s episode was SO great! What do you think of Jessica? I totally like her on the show.

Wow – I am jealous! I love their cream blushers – will have to add the ones you got to my wish list. I have Dixie which is amazing!!

Unfortunately, as far as I know, we Canadian girls can’t order these goodies from Sephora.com. We have to still go to Illamasqua web site to order. Maybe someday!

Thank you for the swatches! Can’t wait to read reviews! How do you like Obey with your skintone? I’m pondering Illamasqua lippies myself and am liking- Obey, Test, Brink, & Over. The colors look great but I dont know how they’d look against my skintone. If they’re anything like Costa Chic I’ll be sad… that looked terrible on me! (I’m NC40 btw)

Oh wow! How exciting! Girl, you sure know how to pick them! I’ve looked at the product pages on the Illamasqua site and Sephora but I just always get so confused by the color swatches and descriptions lol. The two powder blushes look really pretty and the eyeliner looks gorgeous! I’m really interested to see how the cream blush looks on too. Can’t wait to read your reviews. =)

These look really beautiful! The pigmentation is awesome and the colors aren’t chalky. It’s always great to see something that looks like it’s worth the cost. I want to try these for sure. Def have to go to the Times Square Sephora to check these out in person 🙂

wow the swatches look soooo different compaired to in the package
scandal looks like a coral orangey red but looks magenta in the swatch and zeal looks green in the pan but blue on your hand

weird, but i hope this line comes to a sephora near me, then ill have another shot at finding my perfect pinky-nude matteish lipstick. much too risky online

btw i like when you show your bare lashes and then 1 coat of mascara, then 2, and sometimes 3..4?
dont take this the wrong way but a smear of it on your hand doesnt really tell me anything
i dont know how it performs in thickening, lengthening, volumizing and the amount of curl it creates
i cant even tell how shiney or matte it dries
or if its a normal black or is it darker or lighter than most
whether you coat your lashes or not i think some may find it helpful if you took a picture of the brush?

writing this just made me think of something, sorry if youve stated this already. in the pictures where you show what one coat looks like and 2 coats etc. did you curl your lashes in those or not. another suggestion lol if you do i dont think you should because you dont know what curl the mascara creates on its own (especially important on days you dont have time to curl!) also i thinks its pretty impossible to get a consistent curl and that could skew the comparisons

sorry i just cant seem to not write a paragraph. i try! if you can belive it theres things in this post ive taken out lol
hope youre having a good weekend
