Have You Seen These Sonia Kashuk Pink Products for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Target?

October 14th, 2010 by Karen 15 Comments

When I popped by Target and Tuttimelon last night to get a few cans of gravy for Tabs and a pint of “premium frozen yogurt” for moi (I love the taro flavor), I spied these cute Breast Cancer Awareness products from Sonia Kashuk.

Sonia’s a breast cancer survivor, and every year she releases something cool for BCA. Last year I got this makeup case (cute, huh?).

This year the company’s donating 15% (a sizable chunk) of the purchase price of these BCA products to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I’m heading back for the nail polish trio tonight. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. In other BCA news, if you haven’t already entered the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Sign Project and Giveaway, what are ya waitin’ for? It only takes a minute to show your support, and you could win $400 in MAC and Chanel makeup.

I was checking those BCA products out the last time I was at Target. I think im going back for the pink brush set and keep them for Christmas presents. They are so pretty and fluffy and cuddly!

Can I just say how much I love Target? They are the upscale WalMart, and I don’t need the giant sizes that Costco sells. Who really needs a pack of 128 rolls of TP at one time lol?

I really like those nail polishes. I don’t blame me for going back. The eye shadows are nice, too.

Love the stuff and it’s so nice to see a portion of the money goes to a good cause. And in other news I LOVE 128 roll cartons of toilet paper. Only I get mine at Sams and not Costco. :0) And I think they only have 36 rolls in them……….

I bought the nail polish trio the last time I was in the US (I’m in Canada) the sparkly light pink one looks strange on light coloured skin – made me look ill.

All of these colors look really pretty. I especially like the pretty in pink palette. It looks very wearable (I look like crap in most pink shadows). But I’m pretty sure everyone is already aware of Breast Cancer. Like do we really need to have a month for it anymore? And while it’s great that Sonia is donating so much to a research foundation, so many other companies just use the “profits for research thing” as a marketing ploy to make people feel like they’re making a difference. I mean if companies really cared about cancer research they would donate the money regardless of whether or not people buy their products. I’ve seen lots of companies ONLY advertising about how they donate to cancer or other charities to show how “caring” they are. The money spent on those kinds of commercials or other advertising should have been going towards research.

Same thing for all those “Walk for Cancer” things and charity dinners. So much money goes into advertising the event, coordinating the event etc. that very little actually ends up going to the research funds. If anyone truly cares about cancer research donate to the researchers directly because you’re not actually doing much good by sending in yogurt tops, buying some nail polish or running in a marathon. Sorry I know this is a beauty blog and I’m ranting hardcore off topic but I just think it’s something that isn’t talked about enough.

I’m not going to get into this except to say, over 200,000 women and 1,500 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and an estimated 40,000 die each year. Yes, there SHOULD still be a month for it… Unit there is a cure, awareness and early screenings save lives.

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
