Decompressing with the Cargo Pro Picks Collection

February 27th, 2010 by Karen 22 Comments

Hi, ladies. How’s it going tonight? Today was … rough, for lack of a better term. I wasn’t really in the mood for hard core makeup, but I did spend a few minutes with Cargo’s Pro Picks Collection ($39, coming soon to Ulta), a new kit with four full-size Cargo products hand-picked by pro makeup artists.

The price is why it got my attention. Cargo’s kits are usually pretty good deals (check out their 7 by 7 Mini Kit, also $39), and this one’s no exception. Purchased separately, the four Pro Picks pieces would cost a whopping $86.

Cargo Pro Picks

With the kit you get the Los Angeles Cargo Color Palette, the Reverse Lip Liner in Flesh Tone 02 (a creamy medium/fair peach), a Blu_Ray Mascara in Black and their Classic Lip Gloss in Tobago (a sheer, shimmery melon). I didn’t find the official launch date, but I’ll let you know when I do.

The eyeshadow palette is speaking to me (what’s up with me and turquoise lately?), and I’m *fascinated* by that comb brush for the mascara…

Flora by Gucci Eau De Parfum

This is unrelated, but do you follow Gucci fragrances? What do you think of the bottle for their new Flora by Gucci Eau De Parfum ($60-100)? Isn’t it cute? 🙂 I like the scent, too. It’s kinda citrusy, with a hint of peppery rose.

Sleep well, and have a good night.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I hope tomorrow is better for you 🙂 The quad is amazing, I didn’t expect the shadows to be so pigmented. I’m particularly in love with the bright blue (bottom row)

I’m pretty sure that Maybelline make (made?) a mascara with a similar brush to that. Lash Stylist or something like that. It was pretty good, you got absolutely no clumping because it combed and applied at the same time.

It looks like a lovely kit, it definitely takes away the “Ugh, what colours go together?” issues you might have on a “blah” morning 🙂

What a nice kit! The eyeshadow palette is beautiful, I love the colors. I also like the mascara wand. I’m using Maybelline Cats Eyes mascara at the moment which has a wand like that and it’s great at de-clumping and separating lashes.

You must be so drained from waiting for that tsunami watch to expire. Hopefully today will be much more chill!

I think you just sold me on this kit. I love everything about it except the reverse lip liner.

That lip gloss color is gorgeous!! And that palette looks wonderful,, but I doubt I would get to wear it on a regular basis! I have never tired Gucci perfumes but the packaging is adorable!

Hey Karen, how are you? Very pretty palette, I can def see you rocking the 4 colours at once! I like the look of the lipgloss but in the tube…the swatch is just too sheer! I’d love a bold gloss in that shade!

I love Cargo eyeshadows, and those look awesome. And the reverse lipliner is also fab! I don’t care much for the lipgloss though.

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
