Unlike the smokey eyes and creamy bold lips of the Spring 2009 Bohemian Fantasy Collection, Cote D’Azur is all about soft bronzes with pops of vibrant, glossy color on the lips.

I really dig the shimmery golden orange lip the display model is wearing in the picture up top, but I’m not sure of the shades. I think the lipstick might be Monte Carlo and the lipgloss, Tangerine Dream.

What do you gals think? Any interest in the collection? I’m leaning toward Monte Carlo, Tangerine Dream and the eyeshadow quad…

Hope you have a great night.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Thank you for posting the pics Karen! Ohhh the Orange Fizz polish is calling my name!

Candy Glow and Cherry blosson glosses look so enticing, I’ve been looking for something to give me subtle color. Karen, take a look at my pic…any recommendations?

I have terre epice from last year, and honestly it was not worth the price tag ($55? can’t remember if that was USD or CAD). It’s silky smooth and not orange but there are cheaper good bronzers out there. About the moisturizing part though, it’s weird because everytime I open this there is that moisture buildup on the mirror!

I’ve seen In Love blush here. Its almost a dupe of Reflex which I read was discontinued or became hard to find. Its all a little too brown for me but pretty anyway! 🙂

I am ususally so excited about new Chanel lines but this one just isn’t doing it for me. The bronzers seem very limiting to me – I just wish they had more of a shade selection. I am looking forward to looking out the lipsticks – I adore their lipsticks and just think they have a great moisturizing formula. Hopefully this will hit our Von Maur counter soon so I can take a looky 🙂

    Thanks for the pics, Karen.

ohhhh these bronze-y summer collections kill me! I love bronze/gold colors soooooo much!
I definitely need Orange Fizz, I think I need the eye quad also, and probably Tangerine Dream. I have Candy Glow already, otherwise I’d be getting that too. I like that they are releasing new Aqualumiere glosses! I love them!

Thanks for the swatches Karen – do they let you take pictures? Or do you have to do it covertly?

The Love blush & the e/s quad look good to me.

I’m not sure about this collection. I do like the blush but the rest I don’t know. I’m probably too much with my head in the Spring collection still (still LOVING Vendetta and Gipsy Scarlet)

I am totally still stuck on the spring collection, too. The lipsticks (and Vendetta) still make me ga-ga! 🙂

Oooo, it’s out in stores already? Where, Nordies?

I thought I was going to take a pass on these, but those glosses are so pretty! What’s your opinion on the Aqualumiere gloss? I’ve only tried Glossimers (which I love).

    Hey Karen!

I bought Monte Carlo — I think it may be a little light for you, as it was soft pink-peach on me but I am uber pale. However, if you already tried it on then ignore me. I also bought In Love, which is a nice peach even on my skin, and Island. I thought the rest of the lippies and the nail polishes were nice, but not unique. The quad was way too warm for me.

      Hi Faye,

I slicked a little on and topped it off with the Tangerine Aqualumiere when I was at the counter. It was pretty close to the lipstick on the model… I’ll have to double check when I go back to the counter. Are you liking In Love? I am kinda crushing on it.

I never had luck with the Soleil Tan de Chanel when they launched it last year.. tried 2 shades.. it just wasn’t a natural tan on me. I wonder how the LE one is. I am curious as to how the blush swatched on you though. The Chanel site described it as Coral Pink? What are your thoughts on this? I do like the Aqaulumiere glosses..

      Hi Luv J,

It showed up very coral on me. It reminded me of an more intense version of the Tweed Coral Les Tissages blush.

Gorgeous collection, I love Chanel. I am so splurging on a new aqualumiere (gloss or lippie I haven’t decided on!) and the polishes (I kind of collect Chanel Nail Polishes! I have at least 20 but always need the new releases!)

I think maybe Salina on the lips with Tangerine Aqualumiere?

      Hi Glosslizard,

Oh, maybe that’s it. 🙂 I also could probably layer Tangerine on top of Benefit’s Gilded Pencil too. Time for an experiment!

I figured that this would be too cool for you. Even if the colors aren’t your thing, the quad is worth looking at simply just to see the shadows flashing different shades in the light. Oh, and the Loose Powder is also *amazing*.

Hi Karen. It’s the Chanel Summer collection again. 😀 I want Cherry Blossom gloss! It will be my first Aqualumiere gloss. I like Orange Fizz very much too. I will pass the eye quad because I don’t like it. The lipsticks look very similar too, so it is hard to pick one from the lot. Is the loose bronzing powder very shimmery and how is the texture? I may get this one. I hope to see the colours on your face soon! 🙂

    Hi Karen,

I think most of the color probably comes from the Tangerine gloss — which sadly was too bronze-y for me.

I really like In Love. I think it is one of those rare shades that works for fair and darker girls. I applied it lightly and it worked very nicely for me. I let me neighbor, who has darker skin, try some on, and it looked great on her with heavier application.

    Hi Karen,
Although I love Chanel, it seems as if many of those face and eye colors do nothing for my pale skin. The lip colors are gorgeous. I already own Candy Glow from last year and the Cherry looks very nice. Chanel always has great nail colors which is good if you have nails which I don’t. So I may pick up one of the glosses and that is okay since I have so much already. Have a happy weekend. Louise

I love so many things from this collection, I’m going to really have to figure out what is dupable so I can skip a few things or I am going to be broke! Do we know if anything is LE? I’d have to grab the LE stuff first so I don’t miss out!

      Hi Jenn,

From off the top of my head I know that Effet Hale Loose Bronzing Powder, In Love Blush and the Quad are LE. I’m pretty sure that the glosses are too (with the exception of Candy Glow, which is a repromote).

What items are your favorite from the collection?

Check out the duo’s at MAC – there is a blush there that comes pretty close to In Love – can’t remember which one – but I swatched In Love & went to the MAC counter – Maybe it was Earth to Earth? Not positive about the name. Not the frosted side but the solid side. Am going back next week & investigate a little more – let me know what you think.
