A Hump Day Picture Party with Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Holiday 2011

October 19th, 2011 by Karen 13 Comments

Almost half way up the hump, lovie! How about some bling to help you on the final climb? Perhaps these new kits from the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Holiday 2011 collection can help.

The collection’s fairly large (here’s a complete list of products); the products pictured below are just some of the more luxurious (read: pricier) pieces from the release.

RSVP

R.S.V.P. ($54; available at Bare Escentuals Boutiques and BareEscentuals.com) comes with…

  • 1 SPF Mineral Veil Finishing Powder
  • 1 Prime Time Primer Shadow
  • 1 Eyecolor
  • 1 Blush
  • 1 Round the Clock Waterproof Eyeliner
  • 1 Double-Ended Flawless Definition Mascara
  • 1 Pretty Amazing Lipgloss
  • 1 Tapered Shadow Brush
  • 1 Soft Sweep Cheek Brush

Box of Gems

Box of Gems ($79; available at QVC.com) includes…

  • 10 Eyecolors
  • 5 Buxom Shadows
  • 5 Lipglosses

NOTE: Five Buxom glosses actually come with the kit, but one of them has gone MIA, which is why it isn’t shown (I think Tabs was behind the disappearance…)

Things That Make You Glow

Things That Make You Glow ($85; Bare Escentuals Boutiques and BareEscentuals.com) comes with…

  • 10 Eyecolors
  • 1 All-Over Face Color
  • 1 Blush
  • 1 Pretty Amazing Lip Color
  • 1 Natural Lipgloss
  • 1 Contour Shadow Brush
  • 1 Tapered Blush Brush

Swatches coming soon, but while they’re baking, let me know if anything strikes your fancy. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m excited to see those glosses….For some reason, loose powder is a turn off for me. Too much room for fallout and getting it on my shirt.

On a separate note, for some reason the plastic insides that the products are tucked in is a huge mood killer. The outer packaging is so nice, and I’m all excited for a really special treat, and then BAM. Flimsy plastic shiny inserts. I know it’s purely aesthetic, and I’m a huge packaging buff. If it was even just that cheap velvety textured lined plastic, it would’ve made the experience 10 times better.

Ugh, so gorgeous and vibrant! Love the packaging and how the product is arranged within!

I like Things That Make Your Glow, because it’s a good mix of products, and it comes in a useful bag.

Rocky, being the girl that she is, would steal that bag from me in a jiffy. 😛

These sets are seriously amazing. Holiday is my favourite season to shop for makeup with all those sets and discounts. Just got some Clarins gift sets today 🙂

I’m really curious how the brushes are, and how they measure up to, say, MAC brushes! I actually don’t own any Bare Escentuals makeup short of 3 of their Prime Time colored primer shadows (which are amazing!) and the RSVP kit seems like it’d be a great way to try a little bit of everything. And the blush from that kit looks lovely in the jar!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
