Unsung Makeup Heroes: Bite Beauty Multistick in Honeywheat

Bite Beauty Multistick in Honeywheat, the unsung hero of all your warm brown palettes. ALL OF THEM!

What’s an unsung makeup hero? For me, it’s an oftentimes underrated makeup morsel, a permanent collection product that scoots under the radar screen of many makeup lovers but regularly rocks my world. The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorites.

I’ve had *three* conversations over the last few days about warm brown eyeshadow palettes.

Have you noticed when you walk into a Sephora, an Ulta or a drugstore that those six-pan palettes with orange browns and reddish browns are everywhere? It’s like, Oh, there’s Urban Decay Naked Heat, and there’s NARS Wanted, and there’s Anastasia Modern Renaissance.

They’re all over the place!

I’m a fan. I think they’re fun. My heart’s all, “Blow out those warm orange-y and red smoky eyes until your wrist falls off, K!” but my mind’s like, “Realistically, you have 15 minutes to do your makeup today, so look for shortcuts.”

Shortcuts: I’m all about them.

I’ve been starting my smoky looks lately by layering two cream shadows together, one lighter and one darker, to jump start the smoky gradient effect.

I might not always have the time to layer and blend with the care that smoky eyes usually need (but who does, really?), but this trick at least gets me halfway there.

MAC NC42 over here for reference.

This warm matte chocolate brown is Bite Beauty Multistick in Honeywheat ($24), and it’s the lighter shade I’ve been using in most of my smoky eye looks lately. I think it’s the best base shade for those orange-y and reddish brown palettes (or pretty much any nude/neutral palette in your stash).

It’s a multipurpose cream stick for lids, lips and cheeks with a pliable consistency that you can easily push around with your brush. It’s not oily or greasy, though, so it actually stays where it belongs once it sets, which takes about five minutes.

Other creams blend into it easily, too, and powder shadows glide across it without sticking to any spots.

I used Honeywheat as the lighter cream base here and blended it with MAC Teddy as the darker cream. Then, I blended powder eyeshadows from the MAC Made Jagger Golden Shine quad on top.

Most of the time I use it on bare lids and draw a few chunky strokes along my lash line. Then I feather it out with a domed brush as I move up toward my crease and brow bone. After that, I blend a darker cream shadow directly on top to start the smoky gradient.

For a super fast smoky eye, you can even stop right there.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I have one of these sticks in “Caramel” (?) and found it to crease on my lid really easily. Does it do that for you when you don’t set it?

I get a little creasing but it’s not terrible. I have dry lids!

Welcome to momma world, right?! Same here…I am all about multitasking products that get the job done quick. Fell in love with the Mally eyeshadow sticks. I even started using one to do my brows and man, it works! Bulletproof brows (kinda, ya know). I ordered the bite wish set and it includes one of the multisticks too. Can’t wait to play ?

      Hi Mira,

RIGHT!? Half the time it’s a miracle if I run a brush through my hair, haha. So, I’m digging the look of those Mally sticks. They’re super pretty, especially the jewel tones. I wish she had more mattes though. How are you and your two little girls doing? Are they excited about the holidays?

Meanwhile, Miss Porcelain-with-Pink-Undertones is over here waiting for the orangey-reds to just go away already. Let’s have a beauty trend I can wear without looking like I’m possessed or diseased, like… well, just about any color other than orangey-red. 😉

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
