I realized JUST RIGHT NOW that I accidentally repeated “Day 7” of this series twice, which is what I get for staying up late to watch Altered Carbon on Netflix. Note to self: go to bed earlier, K-Dawg! Lack of sleep depletes your math skillz.
Sci-fi fans, check out Altered Carbon
Yeah, so this is technically the 14th edition of 14 Days of Ravishing Red, not the 13th. Whoops!
With it being V-Day and all, I wanted to wear a red lip today, but not just a lip with a hint of red, or a tint of red, or a sheer gloss of red. But a RED red.
But I was also in the mood for fuchsia. I looked around and couldn’t find exactly what I wanted, so I mixed a fuchsia lipstick with a neutral red (Bite Beauty Kimchi Lipstick and Cayenne Lipstick, which are $18 each) to get exactly what I wanted.
I wore this this afternoon at home, and now I’m taking it off before heading to my workout class. No big Valentine’s Day excitement around these parts because it’s a work/school night, but El Hub and I made a date to go to the movies soon.
Hope you’re having a good night, whatever you’re up to.
I hope this series inspired you to wear red on your lips ? in some form or fashion, or at least got ya thinking about wearing red lips sometime soon.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I’ve tried cayenne before but kimchi is totally calling my name!! Love the look of them mixed too!! Thank you for the super fun red lip series!! ??? And Happy Valentines to you!!
Wow, you saved the best for last! These are two of my favorites from Bite. I love that you mixed them and came up with this amazing shade that looks fab on you.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love this mix! I am definitely adding these two to my shopping cart. And I have enjoyed the different hues of red you have shown these past days I wear lots of red because people always tells me it pops against my dark hair and tan skin, and people always say it’s just another red lipstick, pfft! BTW, I love the color of the red top? dress? you’re wearing it’s so pretty! Hope you have a happy Valentine’s Day!!
Altered carbon is just so good! I finished it and am excited to read the rumours about Season 2.

This is a great mix of lip colors! And I really love the bright, colorful top on you. Hope you had a nice Valentine’s Day. We stayed in and avoided the crowded, over priced restaurants. I made individual chocolate soufflés for dessert.
Thank you! We had a mellow one at home. Exchanged gifts, and then I went to HIIT class, where I did about 500 lunges. LOL! When I got back home El Hub fell asleep early on the couch… Ahh, to be tired toddler parents on a Wednesday!
Souffles are hard to make, aren’t they? For some reason I’m intimidated by them. The thought of going through the process and then having it NOT rise doesn’t sound like fun to me.
You look great in every red lip you have worn! Can you do pink next?
Hi Nyxx,
How funny you should ask, because I was thinking of what series to do next and was deciding to do either pink, purple or nude! 😀
Just remember there’s more sleep at the end of the tunnel because Connor won’t be a toddler forever. Then there will be other challenges! As much as I loved my girl when she was little, I enjoy her so much more now that she’s an adult.
If you can separate eggs and whip the whites you can make soufflés. They’re step intensive, so it’s probably best to wait until you don’t have toddler hanging on before you attempt them. I have a super easy, sure fire recipe from an ancient issue of Gourmet magazine. (Still mad at S.I. Newhouse for killing that magazine.) It doesn’t rise sky high, but it still tastes chocolatey, yummy. For us it’s all about the taste, not the look.
Thank you for the reminder. I was looking at old pics and videos of her last night from this time last year and got all weepy… The time is going by too fast! I wish I could slow it down. I’m mostly mentally tired because I’m with her all day and so I’m juggling a lot between MBB and chasing her around. I’m also physically tired because she’s going through this phase where she wants to be carried ALL THE TIME. LOL… Someday I won’t be able to hug her whenever I want so I’m reminding myself to cherish it.
Thank you for letting me talk babies with you. It really is nice to chat with someone who listens and knows how it is to go through the journey. 🙂
One day I will conquer a souffle, ahhhh!
I’ll talk babies with you all day long. I may give advice that is contrary to what you get from others. But I suspect you’ll follow your own logic and gut instinct anyway. (At least I did.)
Man, I am afraid to look at pictures of My Girl from she was little. I might just lose it, if I did. The high school graduation photos really get to me. No photos of university graduation because Dear Husband said she could skip it and we took her to London instead. (He said graduation ceremonies are for the parents and relatives and not really for the students. I didn’t argue because I didn’t really want to sit outside for three days in a row in Houston heat.)
Does Connor nap? If she does, you might try just putting everything aside while she’s napping and do the same. Even if you don’t fall asleep and just read or lay down and do nothing it will help recharge the batteries. I also notice you usually put up three posts a day and one each on Saturday and Sunday. Maybe reduce the amount you post until your batteries are a little more recharged. Or schedule a one week vacation from MBB to get some rest in. We’d miss you, but we’d totally understand.
I would love and appreciate any advice, really! I acknowledge that this is a new thing for me (and probably the only time I’ll ever get to do it, as I don’t have any plans to have another any time soon. Too tired, LOL!), so it helps me to take in as much information as I can from everyone. And you’re right… I mostly end up doing what feels right. Instinct is funny that way.
This is going to sound silly, but what I would like to know is how the heck does one keep their sanity when you send them out into the world? We took a tour of a pre-school last week and I almost got a little weepy thinking about how other kids might treat her. Not just in pre-school, but as she moves into elementary, then middle and then high school. Kids, especially girls, can be clique-y and so mean. And don’t even get me started about the internet, OMG. I am NOT ready for that at all.
