There’s a Benefit Brow Bar at my local Ulta (shout-out to the San Rafael store, woop-woop!), and they do full-service brow detailing — waxing, shaping, tweezing, tinting and all that jazz — as well as face waxing and false lash application. I’ve never had anything done there because I’m a control freak when it comes to my brows, but I see girls there getting their brow game on all the time, and they look great.
When I was there yesterday I saw this sign and totally cracked up! That crazy-@ss brow on the model, LOL! I feel that way sometimes…
OK, all the time. 🙂
Here’s some more info on the Benefit Brow Bars at Ulta, by the way.
Have you ever gotten your brows done at Benefit? How’d it turn out? Inquiring minds want to know…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

I go to that one in SR all the time! They are great there, but I definitely love the Benefit Brow Bar in Mill Valley better 🙂 Never have had a bad experience at either, though!

Oh all the time, at the local one in Alameda, Walnut Creek, Berkeley or the one in the Macy’s at San Francisco. And I never had anything bad to say. Always friendly, very hygienic and they did a great job with my brows. I even got them tinted on one occasion – I’m pretty sure I was possessed by someone/something because I looked ridiculous that day 😀
I’ve recently started getting my eyebrows threaded instead of waxed, but if I ever decide to get them waxed again, I will find my way to a Benefit near me 🙂

I first tried out the Brow Bar at an event in SF a few years ago, and I’ve never gone anywhere to get them done since. I usually visit the location in San Mateo. They really do take their time to make sure my brows look great.

You might remember I do get my eyebrows waxed at a local salon, I have never tried Ulta’s Benefit Brow though. I wouldn’t mind trying it- every time I see someone getting their eyebrow done, the finished result is really nice! The only thing I don’t like is the lack of privacy- everyone just stares at you there walking by.

A while ago someone told me to visit one, yeah (mean, pshhhh!), but I refuse to let another ‘professional’ touch my brows. Too often have professionals messed up my eyebrows.
Tracy says
I’m totally agree with you on this one. I let a “professional” do my brows a few years back and it was such a terrible experience that I’ll never go again. My brows have never been the same.

Oh no sister. The only people that get near my brows are me, myself and I.
When I was in college, before I got proficient with my tweezerman’s I would go get them waxed but the aesthetician would frequently take off way too much brow. Finally I kept thinking about my grandpa’s girlfriend, who has now passed, and how she had to draw on her brows because she was too aggressive with waxing. So I just started doing them myself and reading lots of how-to’s.
I’m quite happy with my brows. If only I could tweeze away the pesky fine lines and deepening wrinkles around them…
Have a great Friday.

Nope never been. I started getting mine threaded a month or two ago & I love how they look. The shape is fantastic, and per my threaded, I’m never taking a tweezer to my brows again. I gotta admit, though, it hurts. 🙁 I mean, when its done its done so there’s no lingering pain. But ouch, Nelly! Oh the pain we go through in the name of beauty & vanity. Of course I’ll be seeing her again in 2 weeks 🙂

I moved to the US last year for a semester, and I went to the Benefit brow bar at Macy’s in Raleigh NC, it was my first time at a Benefit brow bar
The beautician who usually does them back home always kept them thick and symetrical. I showed the woman at the Brow bar a picture of my eyebrows before she started, and asked to have them done with tweezers, since apparently wax can make your eyelids droopy if you do it often.
After she was done the tail of my eyebrows was so thin it was nearly invisible without makeup, the arch was too high, and overall they were way too thin and I had to draw them everyday, instead of just filling them in… It was last year, and my eyebrows still haven’t “recovered”… I went back to my usual salon in France and she tried to correct the line, but I still have a long way too go, since eyebrows don’t really grow out quickly.
My friend had her eyebrows done at the same time, and the same thing happened to her.
Sorry about the lenght of this comment, since eyebrows can really make a big difference, I wouldn’t want anyone to have the problem I had.

I have heard of the Benefit Brow bar but the only one I’m aware of is in a fancy shopping mall about 30 minutes away. Luckily, there is a place in the local mall near my work that does threading so that is my go to place!

I’ve always wanted to, but I’m scared! I like my eyebrows threaded and trimmed by one particular person.

I go to the Ulta brow bar in Gainesville and I love it. I think it’s the same price as going a nail salon that I would go to every month. With the brow bar, I only go every other month. And, I think they’re very knowledgeable and super friendly.

I’ve never had my brows done… But my daughter used to have her done at the Benefit Brow Bar in the Ulta near her apartment in Houston. I happened to be with her the first time she decided to do it. They cleaned up her brows and gave her a very nice arch. Not too skinny. Not to shaggy. She’s been going back ever since. Need to find a new place for her now that she’s moved back to the Bay Area.

I went to the brow bar in La Jolla at their stand alone store. The girl did a great job! Kind of pricey but sometimes I’m lazy and want someone to do my brows. I maintain and shape them myself. I used to get them threaded all the time where I used to live…but now I have trust issues and don’t wanna go to a new place! I was on vacation at the time and my brows were all wonky. They needed some cleaning up!
My old threading place was not in a mall and was good and cheap. So now I just save the money and do everything at home!
Lol I was at ulta about a week ago and the manager there was wearing one of those bushy eyebrows to advertise for the brow bar.

I go to the Benefit Brow Bar at Ulta in Levittown, LI. The girl who does mine does a great job and I won’t go anywhere else. When she was on maternity leave I went to the Brow Bar in Macy’s and she did a good job but I’m loyal to the girl at Ulta. I’m VERY sensitive so she tweezes only (no waxing!!) and the shape is great. My hair is really light so I don’t have to go that often, I just tweeze out whatever grows back underneath myself. I used to go to the Anastasia brow studio in Sephora in Times Square but they were AWFUL. The girls I liked always left and then they started giving away my appointments to other people ALL the time and I would go there for nothing. One time I showed up and NOBODY was there and they never called me! It was pretty bad. Then I started going to the Anastasia brow studio in Nordstrom’s and I found a girl I really liked and SHE left. I tried the one who replaced her and she was terrible. She tweezed me out SLOW so it hurt! WTF? Then I tried one other person there and she was annoyed that all of the other girl’s clients were coming to her. She was pretty nasty. That’s when I tried Ulta.
I think it all depends on WHO you get to do your brows. If you try the Benefit Brow Bar and don’t like how it’s done, try someone else. Some people are just more receptive to client’s needs than others.

I may have had my brows done (wax) a long time ago. But they always take way too much off. I have fairly ruly thicker eyebrows and I like them that way.
I don’t trust anyone to wax them EVER (also if you use retinol it can discolor your skin permanently). I think sometimes these women get over aggressive and don’t know how to just “clean up”.
I pluck my own everyday and for the life of me I would LOVE to find someone with good eyesight and tweezer skills. I’m getting older and it’s really tough to see anymore. UGH…LOL

P.S. My mom always brushed my brows and kept them tidy when I was little. I think if Mom’s do this with their little ones it almost trains the brows. I hope that made sense.
Oh, and Mom’s? DON’T spit on your finger and wipe your kids face. It’s disgusting – take it from an old kid who HATED it. LMAO

I had and it was horrible.
