I gotta say, I wasn’t sure what to do with these Benefit Brow Contour Pro 4-in-1 Defining & Highlighting Brow Pencils at first… Do I fill in my brows with them? Or do I furiously take organic chemistry notes? — because back in college those four-color click pens were all the rage in my science classes, and we used to joke that the faster you clicked your pen, the more desperate you were to get into med school, ha ha!

So, about these, I appreciate that Benefit calls them “Pro” because I feel like you gotta be a professional brow person to really appreciate them.
Why?
Because they’re 1) very pigmented and 2) very soft, which can be either a lethal or a pleasant combination, depending on your level of brow game. Like, if you don’t know what you’re doing, there’s a good chance you’ll end up with severe, blocky brows.
“Define & highlight your brows with this 4-in-1 contour pencil. Our multi-tasking brow pencil features a lighter brow shade, deeper brow shade, edge definer and arch highlighter to create clean, shaped brows with depth & dimension. Turn shapeless, flat brows into defined, contoured brows in an instant. Available in 5 shades for a wide range of hair colors and skin tones!”
- Easy brow contouring
- 4-in-1 brow pencil
- Blendable formula
- 24-hour longwear and waterproof

If your brow game is already on point, then you may really like how quickly you can fill out the sparse spots with these, but FYI, be careful. These are soooo easy to over-apply. It took me a few tries to figure out how much product I needed, and the first few times I used these I ended up with comical Halloween costume brows… I looked like I was doing an Instagram brow parody, or like I had two apostrophes on my forehead. ‘ ‘
Bottom line: They’re intense. Best for peeps who want lots of color, quickly, and who also know what the heck they’re doing.
There are five of them available, and they’re $34 each.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I am not sure if I could deal with the intensity, I am used to pencils that really need work. Not because I prefer them, but because they seem to be all I can get here…

One pro of the high pigment is that you can get brows on fast.
“for people who know what the heck they’re doing” made me laugh. Clearly not the product for moi! Your brows and eye look are gorgeous!
Thanks, Kelly! I’m wearing the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette. It’s surprisingly very wearable!
I’m intrigued by the convenience of these. You’re makeup is so pretty in the first photo!
Thanks, Rachel! I’m wearing the new Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette. They’re not my usual browns but I think they’re pretty wearable. Happy Friday to you! What are you up to this weekend? Tomorrow we have a BBQ at Connor’s school and Sunday we might be going to a pumpkin patch.
Sounds like a fun weekend! I don’t have much planned, my boyfriend is moving in so I am trying to keep up with the cleaning and organizing!
I first saw Kandee Johnson use these in her “guy brow” video she posted last week and my first thought was “that is a genius product for professional makeup artists.” I’m not sure it’ll work for regular me, though! I currently use ELF and that little $4 palette works perfectly for what I need. But the benefit one might go on my Christmas wish list…
I think you could handle it. 🙂 Although, if you really want a brow pencil with no drama, the NARS one is great.
