Antonym Cosmetics Organic Certified Highlighting Blush in Cheek Crush

Whoa, disco lady! This is way shiny… Almost too shiny for me. Antonym Cosmetics Organic Certified Highlighting Blush in Cheek Crush ($42) is a two-for-one combo. You get a baked blush and a highlighter in one alluring pan, and, seeing as how it was made in Italy and all (the land where the best baked powders come to life), I hoped it would romance my cheeks…but alas, I just can’t hang with the intense shimmer and the limited pigment.

So…this one isn’t for me (the first Antonym product I haven’t really liked), but if you like highlighters that masquerade as shiny mirrors, a la Urban Decay Naked Illuminated, you might be into it. Both are similarly shiny (but the Antonym version lacks the flecks of glitter).

Cheek Crush is kinda like the grown lady version of UD Naked Illuminator… Good staying power, too, so the astronauts on the International Space Station will be able to see your cheeks from space ?‍???️ for hours and hours.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

That TGIF kitty is the cutest! Too bad about all the shimmer. I don’t see it in your fotd but you’re right that the color is very subtle. It still looks pretty but it’s definitely sheer.

What’s on tap for the weekend? Hopefully you’ll all be feeling well enough to enjoy. 🙂

      Hi Kim,

This cold has been brutal. Usually by the third day in I feel a little better, but I still feel like crap, so the weekend will be all about sleep. If I’m feeling a little better by tomorrow I’m going to go pick up my new glasses! I’m weirdly excited by this because I haven’t gotten a new pair in over 10 years.

Do you guys have a game this weekend?

I hope you were able to get your new glasses! I think it’s super exciting and can’t wait to see them. 🙂 Our Saturday game was cancelled because of the weather. I had to drive across the border in the AM because the fellas were going to the Canadiens game that night with some friends and we hadn’t gotten any Canadian money (great planning). It was snowing like crazy and the plows hadn’t been out so it was like dune-buggying, but in the snow. 2 feet of snow on the roads and 4 foot drifts. It took us an hour to get there and back (usually 20 minutes or so, round trip). Quite an adventure! The boys played on Sunday but it’s not worth mentioning. Total tire fire. 🙂

This kind of reminds me of the shade coming out with the NARS Spring 2018 collection! Maybe a tad more on the peachy side? Can you compare the two?

Do you think this would be a better product for someone like me with a very fair complexion?

      Hi Jan,

You could pull this off, for sure, but it’s *very* sparkly. If you love the bling, go for it!

I love the TGIF Kitty! 🙂

That definitely looks more like an illuminator or highlighter than a blush. You know I love my shiny sparkly stuff, and even I wouldn’t use that as a blush.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
