I think I may have unintentionally gone ? unicorn with this look.
That was not my plan, I swear!
In my head, I pictured this eye look as being a lot pinker… Or is it more pink? I can never remember that one.
Guess who played with the UD Jean-Michel Basquiat collection today.
This girl! 🙂
I was thinking of hot pink in the crease, hot pink along my lower lash line, and bright green and purple accents, but then temptation struck! — which is what happens when you’re dealing with a palette that inspires you to try different things.
So, I started by putting a little bit of purple in the outer corner, but then this happened. Whoopsie-daisy! It’s less pink than I thought I wanted it to be, but with makeup I always reserve the right to change my mind.
You know how it is.
Technically, the inner corner highlight on my lower lash line isn’t an eyeshadow, by the way. I used the UD Gallery Blush Palette (also from the Jean-Michel Basquiat collection). There’s a super intense yellow gold highlighter in there, and I liked the idea of that playing against the green on my inner lid.
Oh, and for that bright green pop on my lid I mixed the green and blue from the Tenant palette.
Anywho, I’m gonna try this whole thing again soon, and hopefully THAT time I end up with a hot pink crease, because that’s what I really, really want to try!
Thanks to Christina in the comments the other day for pointing out how harmoniously the UD Jean-Michel Basquiat colors work with MAC Fruity Juicy, so I squeezed some Fruity Juicy into the mix. That’s what I’m wearing on my cheeks. I think the bronze cheeks balance well with the bright lips and eyes.
Kinda makeup related, because I was wearing this look when it happened, but not really makeup related…I was just outside taking a quick walk with Connor and met one of my neighbors and his very special dog.
Her name is Sadie. She’s a 10-year-old black Lab-hound mix with a dignified white snout, and she’s a rescue dog. She was rescued from Bakersfield, California, where she was used in dog fights. 🙁 She would prepare the dogs that were about to fight by getting them riled up.
Thank goodness she was able to get out of that situation, because she’s just the sweetest thing. Next time I see her, I’m remember to get a picture to share with you.
Last thing, I’m still using and loving MAC Next to Nothing as a foundation. It’s like, I can’t even wear any other base products because I love how light it feels and looks on my skin.
When I’m just chillin’, I’ll wear it on its own and set it with a bit of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, but if I’m taking pictures, I’ll usually add a few drops of Make Up For Ever HD Concealer to boost the coverage.
I’m about a month into using it, and I’m still crushing hard.

One should always reserve the right to change ones mind about Makeup. I was planning on wearing a neutral eye with a bold lip, but instead there is orange and green on my lids today.

I love that green! I might need that palette! That poor dog, stories like that break my heart!

I think your pinks really stand out thanks to your choice of lip color. At least to me. 🙂 Btw, I like using a highlighter (or very light shadow) on the inner corners, too. Anything to make those peepers look bigger!
