First time I played with this new palette from Too Faced, I reached a point during which glitter was seconds away from ending up all over the place…so I came to the following conclusion: why not put it in the crease, too? And the inner corner? And on my lower lash line?! Basically, why not put this glitter everywhere!?
I mean, if you’re gonna go there already, don’t just dip a toe in the glitter pool. GO. ALL. IN.
This fun $45 LE lioness is available right meow with eight powder glitter shadows, as well as two bases that you can layer under the shadows if you want. There’s a matte white base to brighten colors and a black shade to darken them.
I think that the name, Glitter Bomb, is a ref to something that anyone who plays with glittery makeup knows. “That shadow is a glitter bomb!” You know, when it gets all over the place, which you have to expect when you’re working/playing with glitter sometimes. And it happens here.
This lives up to its name. It is a glitter bomb, but it helps to layer a little glitter glue on your lids first, and then apply the glitters with a wet brush.
Also, for sure, do you eyes first. Then clean up whatever bits land on your face after you’re done. Or, you can just leave the glitter in you brows and on your nose like you meant to do it, haha. Like I said…ALL. IN.
The soft powders feel almost creamy, and they’re relatively easy to blend into each other and atop the white and black bases, which I like. I also like that Too Faced varied the size and intensity of the glitter flecks, so that the palette isn’t one intensely glittery note.
Some of the shadows, like Confetti, have large (but not too big) pieces and a single tinted based, while other shades, like Oh It’s On, which is a warm brass shade that flashes to greenish gold (sounds weird, but it works), have extremely fine golden flecks.
And then we have Glitter Goals, and OH, MY LANTA. It’s like a taupe-y-grayish-bluish-periwinkle that flashes teal, and it has the cutest petite pieces of pink glitter. Buffing out the edges reveals a gorgeous grayish teal undertone that I wish I could have in a HUGE pan. I’d be one heckuva happy wannabe drag queen!
So, yeah. It’s a little messy, but it’s tons of fun too. If you’re in the mood to play with, say, some crazy false lashes, or if you wanna dress up in ’80s makeup inspired by the wrestling ladies of GLOW (now I know what I’m going to do this weekend!), this is the palette to do it with.

Nothing about this says “glitter bomb.” More like sheer washes of color that are far more shimmery than glittery. Fail.
Karen says
Hi LC,
You might change your mind if you see the palette in person. It reads more glittery in real life.
Hope you had a good week, and happy Friday to ya.
Lex says
Noo…Karen… I’ve got too many looks I want to try now… 🙁 Wish I had like 5 sets of lids, haha! Gimme all the eyeshadows…! 😉
Karen says
Hi Lex,
I know how you feel! Sometimes I wish I could just wear ALL THE MAKEUP.
Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? I’m going to high tea with my friends from college.
Lex says
Hey! Well… got a deadline on Wednesday – I gotta submit a report, so I can see myself spending the weekend in my office. …BUT… tomorrow I’m also picking up an order for a dark lip I’ve been dying to try. I recently came across some Kendall Jenner pics from Dior’s 2016 Automn collection, and the look just killed me…! It’s a very simple, gothic face, with a load of mascara, and a very dark, vinyl-shine lip – Dior’s Rouge Extreme Matte in Poison, with added gloss. Just CANNOT wait…! 🙂
Have fun with your college friends and enjoy the weekend! 🙂

Damn, LE! Makes me want to buy it even if I don’t need it! I might pass on this actually. I’ve been loving the Stila Magnificent Metal glitters lately and I certainly don’t wear glitter often enough to justify it.
Thanks, Karen! Have a great weekend!

gahh this is so beautiful on you karen! i will try to recreate this look with what i have in my makeup arsenal but I love how u pull off these looks.
i would have never thought of that color combo. i get so overwhelmed by these kinds of palettes that they usually just sit on my vanity waiting to be picked up one day.
Karen says
Girl, I know the feeling. Would it make it easier for you if I did something like a “makeup recipe” series? I’ve been thinking about doing posts with eyeshadow color combos that I like to use and know generally work but am not sure how I’d do it… Anywho, happy Friday!
yelena says
YASSS! a makeup recipe would be fantastic for people like me who have a zillion palletes but have no idea how to use the colors together. i’m a one shadow look kinda girl, not because I’m lazy, but because I feel like once I try to combine different colors together, I end up looking like a hot mess.
looking back at the colors you chose, while they turned out to be perfection, I never would have paired rose all day with oh its on because I thought you can’t mix cool tone with warm tones…i was wrong 😉
Karen says
Oh yeah, I love a purposeful clash of cool and warm tones. I think the contrast can look really good! Let me mull the idea over for a while and see what I can come up with. I really wanna push the blog in new directions!
Gina Bullard says
Ms. Karen that would be excellent!!! I think we’d all love that! You can do it! You are so creative! Start filming again!!!

I gotta stop reading your posts on pay day. This looks fun and something my daughters and I would have fun playing with! Happy Friday!
Karen says
I can see your oldest using this for hula performances. (Wait… does she still dance?)
Lexi says
She took a break to play basketball. I think she may go back to dance but who knows. I think she wants to take up archery next. You can sport a glittery lid while doing that, right?
Karen says
For sure. Don’t you have to close one eye when you shoot? That would be the perfect opportunity to show off some glitter. 🙂
That’s great she’s playing basketball! I wish I did more sports when I was growing up and really want to encourage Connor to try different sports.
Lexi says
Me, too. This is our chance to be the pushy mom. I wished my mom pushed me into sports.
Karen says
Yeah, me too. Maybe it’s a old school Filipino thing? Not a lot of value was placed on sports in my family. It was viewed as a waste of time. Piano, though, was a different story.
Did I tell you I bought Connor a lil’ baby basketball, soccer ball and a football? She loves them!
Raechel says
These have some gorgeous colors, but I feel like if you have the Urban Decay Moondust palette then it’s so hard to justify purchasing these. They’re definitely pretty and they look gorgeous on you, they’re just don’t seem super wearable. Thanks for the post!

You’re welcome. 🙂
Ash says
Such a pretty look on you! Love it! I haven’t used mine yet. I am waiting to buy their glitter glue, lol. I don’t know why anyone would be so upset about this palette being messy – glitter, period, is messy. But those who love it choose to work with it anyway. If you don’t like it, that’s cool, don’t buy it and don’t complain about it. 🙂
Karen says
AMEN, Ash! The glitter glue is no joke, by the way. If you can’t wait, you can always apply the shadows with a wet brush…
Rachel R. says
It’s pretty, but I have UD Moondust, so I probably don’t need this one.
Karen says
Hey Rachel!
I think you need to take out Moondust and use it to do a GLOW-inspired look. 🙂
Rachel R. says
Totally! 🙂
Chelsea says
Holy glitter! I love it!
LindaLibraLoca says
I prefer glitter in the summer, I figure when I get shiny anyway, I can as well go all in.
Eleni says
I’ve not been happy with three consecutive Too Faced purchases so I’ll pass. I have a palette from UD anyway that does a similar job to this one. Looks pretty on you and great swatches!
Kim says
This is a great look for you. I especially love the lashes, of course. And I think the lip color is super, too.
