1. It’s the perfect color for your dream ? dragon
If I had a dragon, I’d want her (because she’d be a girl, obvs) to be the same exact color as Tom Ford Burnished Copper Creme Color For Eyes — a beautiful deep khaki with hints of gold.
And speaking of dragons…OMG, Game of Thrones! Can we talk about it please? Because I’m still shaken from last Sunday’s episode, and I need to release all the feelings.
2. The finish is unreal
It’s like purposefully weathered metal. Not super metallic. More like buffed to a fine patina. The shine is dampened down, but it’s definitely there, and it’s unlike anything else in my makeup collection.
3. It wears so well that you can even skip primer
Yeah, man! Burnished Copper’s BFF is bare freakin’ lids. No matter how I work it (sheer or layered or with other eye products), I get a full day’s wear sans creasing or drama. Yeah, you can wear a primer with it if you want to (I recommend NARS Pro-Prime if you do. It’s the best!), but if you’re feeling lazy, 1) I can relate, and 2) Burnished Copper doesn’t really need one, so save yourself the effort, and use all that extra energy to do a quick dance in your chair.
Go ahead, I’ll wait. 🙂
4. You can pile on layer upon layer, and it always looks light and effortless
Only have time for a sheer wash of color? Or, are you in the mood to blend an intense gradient from the outer to the inner corner? Doesn’t matter, because Burnished Copper is flexible enough for either. Go head and pack on as many (or as few) layers as you want, because it’ll never look thick, crusty or heavy. Just seamless.
5. It feels like playing with Cool Whip (and it’s easy to blend, to boot)
Burnished Copper has a whipped cream-like consistency… It’s kinda like playing with Cool Whip, and it’s lighter and less than cream shadows like the MAC Paint Pots and Chanel Ombre Premiers, which are pretty easy to blend as they are, but Burnished Copper’s fluffiness makes it even easier. I can place it exactly where I want to, and then easily push and blend out the edges. Even if you think you can’t blend for sh*t, this cream shadow will prove you wrong. GIRL, YOU CAN DO IT! Burnished Copper (and I) believe in you.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Gorgeous! I guess I know what my next shade from the line is! Oh and about GoT… my nerves were bad for an hour after it went off and my voice was hoarse from screaming at the TV. I can’t believe it’s already the season finale and we may have to wait 2 freakin years for the next season!

I wish this wasn’t so expensive! I love the color and the finish.
Karen says
Me too. It should last a while though. These shadows stay very, very wet and don’t dry out. I have several from a few seasons ago (I’m a hoarder like that) and they’re still super creamy!
Amy says
Scrumptious! This is really, really pretty. The taupe-kakhi-gold combo would be stunning on so many skin tones.

I love TF’s cream shadows. This color is beautiful, even though it looks slightly different on my super pale skin. It’s forgiving of aging eyes, stays put all day and I love that none of my TF cream shadows have dried out and pulled away from the container, like some of the other brands do.
Do you apply and blend this with a brush or just use your fingers? I’m curious.
I guess I’d better start watching all the episodes of GoT that are piling up on the DVR, before Dear Husband decides to delete them. I’m the only one in the family who hasn’t lost interest in GoT, but have a hard time finding the time to watch when no one else is around.

Love. This. Happy birthday to me…….! Now, what brush do I use to apply?

I’m not sure about that color on my porcelain, pink-toned skin, but it’s gorgeous on you. And the Golden Girls tee from the other post? We’re so going to Target tomorrow. To. Mor. Row.
I haven’t watched GOT, but I’m feeling you fans with the emotional roller coaster, because Designated Survivor, y’all!!!!!!! Mom & I binged the whole season over three days. I’m so exhausted. I feel like I climbed K2 and ran the NYC Marathon in the same day. And it’s another month until Season 2 starts.
Chelsea says
OMG I want this. Maybe next time I get to treat myself.
Game of Thrones though! OMG. The best part of my work week is discussing the episode with my work friends on Monday. Dany and Jon, OMG. And the Dragons. And Arya and Sansa!
