Today was a busy day at the offices of Tabs the Cat Industries LLC, despite it being the weekend. Quite a few people showed up to work, including me and the intern, whose responsibility it was to follow the CFO (Chief Feline Officer) around and lavish him with pets and lurvies.
After fueling up on morning gravy, Tabs went on patrol around the perimeter…
As you probably know, his approach to corporate security relies heavily on kitty modeling, in that he poses in plain sight, where his breathtaking physique temporarily stuns would-be intruders.
It’s been a very effective technique over the years.
But all of that posing and lounging is extremely demanding, so Tabs needed a cat nap after his shift.
That’s one thing a lot of humans don’t appreciate about purr-forming at an optimal level. You need to make sure you’re getting enough sleep. Tabs recommends at least 20-21 hours. Daily. 🙂

I was really meant to be a cat, I think.

With a teething toddler I am totally on board with 20 hours of sleep daily. I need them like NOW!

Tabs looks so handsome outside doing his patrol duties. Was it hot up your way? Saturday and Sunday were very hot and a bit uncomfortably humid down this way. Nora kitty kept wanting to go out, but the minute she stepped into the hot sun she high-tailed it back into the house.
Yesterday was a tad cooler than Saturday so I carried Nora out and plopped her in the middle of the nepeta (catmint) she spent a long time sniffing it, but didn’t really roll in it to get stoned the way she usually does. Something startled her and she ran back into the house.

It was SO HOT this weekend. Unbearably so! You guys have air conditioning, right? Ours is broken and all I do is sweat all day!

Our AC broke during the previous heat wave a couple of weeks ago. It broke Monday evening and I called and left messages all day on Tuesday. I called five different HVAC firms. One said they were out on vacation for over a week, another said her repair guy was out after knee surgery, my regular guy said he could get to me in two weeks. Finally one place called me back on Wednesday and said they could be out Thursday evening. He came at 6PM. Needed a part. Came back Friday at 5:30 to install it. Ugh. Getting bids to have the whole system replaced as it’s about 20 years old.
I feel for you. I drove everywhere in my car that week with the AC blasting. Went to the mall, the grocery store, the movies, the library. Anywhere I could think of with AC. I cannot live without AC.
Dear Husband has been going back and forth to work in Phoenix. He thought last week’s 107 was delightful compared to the 120 is was the last time he was there. I keep telling him to frontload this contract and get it done. I am not moving there.

SO YOU FEEL MY PAIN THEN!!! If it gets too hot, you can always find me at the mall. By the Chanel counter. With a credit card out. HAHAHA!
Holy crap, 120 degrees. I’ve heard real estate in Phoenix is pretty affordable. I’m just sayin’…

My two cats have their morning routine in hot weather: Odin lies on the bench on a mat and Freya goes inside the little tree house thing in the cat activity centre, both on the decking.
At precisely 1.30pm they get up and go upstairs and lie on our bed until early evening. You can set your watch by them…

You literally have kitty clocks! 😀

Tabs is looking very svelte. He’s like the Jack LaLanne of staying fit while aging. 😉
