Sleigh bells ring,
Are you listening?
In the lane,
Snow is glistening.
A beautiful sight,
We’re happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderhaaand!
[insert applause here]
Aw, thank you! Thank you! You’re too kind… 🙂
LOL! Virtual Christmas caroling. We should make that a thing…
In related news, this $12 Soap & Glory Winter Wonderhand gift set couldn’t have come at a better time for parched paws across the land, because wherever temps have been dropping, dry skin has been itching and cracking.
The set comes with three large sample-sized 1.69-oz. tubes of Soap & Glory’s Hand Food creams in rosy bergamot Original Pink, sweet lime Sugar Crush and almond vanilla Smoothie Star.
To really get behind these, first, you have to like sweetly scented lotions, and I do this time of year, since all three of the lotions fit that bill. Second, hello hydration! I keep a full-size bottle of Hand Food on my desk year round because of how moisturizing it is (L’Occitane Shea Butter Whipped Hand Cream is another fave), and it’s nice to have a more portable bottle to keep in my purse.
All three of these thick, rich lotions contain shea butter, by the way, and take a while to completely sink in. They eventually get there, but I wouldn’t do any trapeze work right away (read: slippery hands).
If your dry hands, or the hands of someone you love, could use a helping hand, you can find the $12 Soap & Glory Winter Wonderhand set at Ulta and online now.
Christmas caroler craziness
Do you get carolers in your area? Every once in a while we will, and — I’m almost ashamed to admit this, but here I go anyway! — I never know what to do when they come around, so I turn off all the lights and close the curtains, because that’s what my dad would do when I was a kid.
I’d always ask him why we were doing it as we all sat there in the dark, and he’d just say, “They want to steal fruit!” with absolutely no context or further explanation.
Seriously, welcome to my childhood…
Anyway, thank goodness for the Internet, because I just looked up the proper etiquette to follow when carolers come to your door, and most people suggest thanking them for their gift of music and offering them a treat, like cookies or candy canes.
So now I know what to do. I’ll give them some of my Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Stars, instead of just sitting quietly in a dark room until they leave. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I have never been caroled to. I have been the caroler. I’ve never gotten a single thing!

This is sooooo funny. We would do a little caroling through the neighborhood when I was a kid. Can’t remember if folks weren’t home though. Or just sitting with the lights on. Lol. Was just in Ulta last week and didn’t see this set, though I looked for the S&G hand lotion. Will have to look this one up when I’m there again. It sounds like a good deal.

Caroling isn’t a thing here, so if all of a sudden someone burst out into song to me I’d be like whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut…? lol 🙂
Cute little set, this!

We don’t get Christmas Carols, but we get carols at January 6th, along with a blessing for the home. You offer cookies and donate to a church project then, too. Or pretend not to be home.

I love this gift set! I might just have to purchase it for myself this year because I would put it to use right away.
Lol at your dad! Stealing fruit? Too funny. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered carolers. I admit, I’m likely to be the person sitting in the dark rather than having an awkward interaction with strangers. However, offering candy is a good way to break the ice!

You’re story made me crack up! We never get carolers around here (LA area). It’s sad, but I always thought that was an old time thing, like from a century ago. I didn’t know people really went around singing in real life, other then at Disneyland or something. I hope to hear the real thing one day, then I’ll remember your story and crack up again.
I really want to buy the lotion set for me. The almond vanilla sounds so good.

Ah! These look absolutely stunning:) I’ll have to buy some for friends and family for Christmas! I am in love with your blog

I’ve never seen carolers other than in shopping centres or public events. I’d be surprised and a little weirded out if I saw them in my quiet suburban neighbourhood.

I love S&G ‘s Righteous Butter and at a recentbtrip to Ulta, I picked up a tube of Hand Food and gave it to my sister. She uses her hands alot for her job. She loves it. I may pick some up for myself. Hope all is well.
