Do you get that intense feeling of satisfaction when you use the last drop of something you’ve been working on for months? It makes me feel like an actual responsible adult who got her money’s worth! If I completely use up a product, it’s usually a testament to how much I love using it…usually.
Rather than chucking my empties into the garbage, I channeled my inner hoarder and kept my trash in a box to take pictures of and show you all. Totally normal!
1. Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes ($5.99 at Ulta)
I’ve gone through an absurd number of these wipes — like, literally more than 20 packs of 25 wipes! I really should collect the empty wrappers to see how many I actually use…
These are my all-time favorite go-to makeup removers. I’ve tried countless different wipes and even micellar water on cotton pads. Some of them are nice, but I always, always, always come back to these.
The actual cloth wipes are so nice and soft and don’t irritate my skin, and the cleanser they’re soaked in is super gentle and doesn’t burn my eyes, but it still does the job and gets off all of my makeup.
Will I repurchase them? Yes, I already have, and I’m quickly burning through my last pack!
2. Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner ($15 for 3.4 oz.)
Ugh, I hate how fast I go through these toners! I get the smaller, cheaper 3.4-oz. bottle because I feel like I’m being oh, so thrifty, but I fly through them in about three weeks (I use it twice a day).
I really should get the bigger bottle, huh.
I fell in love with this toner a few months ago and have been religiously using it ever since. I like that it’s exfoliating and helps get rid of some of the bumpy, uneven texture I tend to get on my skin. It really does leave my skin super soft and glowing.
I’ve talked about why I think toners are so important in my Pixi Skincare Routine post, but you really should use one. Really.
Will I repurchase? Yes! As soon as I make it back to Target, which is about an hour away from where I live!
I know. Feel sorry for me. 🙁
3. Yes To Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Toner ($9.99 for 8.5 oz.)
You know how when you use something and you’re trying to decide what you think about it, but you really don’t know? That’s how I feel about Yes To Tomatoes Acne Clearing Facial Toner…
I picked it up when my skin was acting up and used it off and on for about six months until I finished it.
I really don’t know what to say about this one!
Obviously, it didn’t “wow!” me, but I didn’t hate it either. It did the job and got my skin super clean, but I can’t really remember if it helped me with breakouts or not. My guess is that if I don’t remember, it probably didn’t.
I wouldn’t completely write this one off, though, if you’re looking for something with salicylic acid and witch hazel to keep your pores nice and tight. I do really like the ingredients in this.
Will I repurchase it? Probably not…mostly because I wasn’t wow’d by it.
4. Ole Henrikson Nurture Me Moisturizer ($40)
I wish I remember the name of the guy who helped me that fateful day in Sephora when I was encouraged to give this moisturizer a try because he changed my life!
OK, that’s a little much, but I love this moisturizer so much. I went in looking for something, anything, to help calm the redness that I was experiencing on my skin and came out with this.
First off, I have to tell you how good it smells, because if something smells amazing, that makes me love it 100 times more. It legit smells like the most delicious orange Creamcicles… My mouth waters every time I use it.
Of course, the smell isn’t why I use it, though. Not only does it soothe my skin and relieve the redness, but it makes my skin feel so smooth and comfortable. There are no massive, angry breakouts, no redness, no rough texture. My skin is happy!
Will I repurchase? Absolutely! As soon as all the bills are paid and everyone has what they need, I WILL buy my magic orange Creamsicle again.
5. Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17)
Drying Lotion. Sounds like a bit of a contradiction, doesn’t it? Basically, this is a spot treatment for blemishes, and guys, it works. If you’ve got a massive, angry spot, grab a Q-tip, get some of the product on there, and coat the hideous offender before bed. It’ll shrink overnight and become so much more manageable.
I don’t know how it works so well, but it does. It must contain magical ingredients to suck all of the gunk (mmm, yummy) out of your zit and clear it up so much faster than it would have if you had just left it alone.
Sadly, I should still have a ton left, but I spilled it all over the place. Hence the nasty-looking bottle.
Will I repurchase? Yes! As soon as my skin starts acting up again, which it always does, I’ll pick a new one up at Ulta.
6. Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder ($35)
Now, for a couple of finished makeup thingies…
First, I got a small size of the Makeup Forever HD Microfinish Powder because I’d always heard great things about it and had to give it a try for myself. Well, it did not fail to live up to its reputation!
This is such a nice powder. It’s invisible on the skin but mattifies any shine you have and makes you look like you’re airbrushed. I mostly use it to set my undereye concealer because it doesn’t crease at all.
I’ll also dust a light layer over my foundation where it helps my bronzer, blush, and highlight blend perfectly and never go chunky or patchy.
Will I repurchase? Yup, already got the full size!
7. NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($9.99)
Best brow pencil in the world right here!
Well, it’s tied with Anastasia Brow Wiz, but it’s half the price! — which I guess makes it better. The tip is the perfect size for really light flicking motions to create realistic-looking brow hairs, which is my favorite way to fill in brows.
There’s not much else to say about this one… It’s just the perfect brow pencil!
Interested in how I fill in my brows? Here’s my step-by-step tutorial!
Will I repurchase it? Been there, done that! In fact, I’ll probably be finishing this one here soon.
What’s a product you go through over and over?

Ole Henriksen! I love their products! My fave is their Invigorating Nighttime Treatment. I am almost out of that and I will repurchase.
I always repurchase Avalon Organics Vitamin C gel cleanser, Dickinson’s Witch Hazel toner, Milani Eye Tech Extreme liner, Revlon lipstick in Spicy Cinnamon, Ardell falsies in 110, and Chagrin Valley solid shampoo in Honey Beer and Egg.

Glow Tonic. Ooooh how I love it! I’m on big bottle no.4 and no signs of giving up on that one yet!
NYX have just recently properly landed here, and everyone raves about that brow pencil. If it means my brows get to look like yours, I’m in!!!

I have been through pots and pots of Himalaya Herbals Night Cream which works wonderful for my oily-combination acne prone skin and Nivea Cremes.

So far I have loved every Ole Henriksen product I have tried, and the Pixi Glow Tonic is amazing as well. But that drying lotion is what I need in my life.

Chanel Inimitable Intense mascara, also their lip liner in Tulipe before they discontinued it (WHY???), I went through about 7 of those! La Roche Posay Rosaliac micellar gel cleanser and their Rosaliac moisturiser. There are plenty of things I’d love to repurchase but they’ve been discontinued, I do wish brands would consult me before they do this!!

Ok so here’s a funny but amazing use for Mario’s drying lotion I’ve been doing lately… it’s INCREDIBLE on mosquito bites LOL. Probably the calamine lotion in it, but I always get attacked and with the humidity and heat lately (in TX), I’ve been using this a lot more on mosquito bites than even my face haha.

My skin is drier and sensitive so I only use the Pixi at night. It lasts me about 3 months. I love it though.

That Pixi toner is a skin game changer! Can’t believe it’s so expensive ($15, I believe) for a relatively small amount.
Monica.

I’m with you on the Drying Lotion. I wish I had known about it when I was still in high school! Anytime I have a zit pop up I use that and overnight it will be pretty much gone.
And girl, get yourself to the Pixi website for the big bottle of Glow Tonic! It’s free shipping over $25 and you collect points with your orders. Then there’s no disappointment when your local Target is out of stock (which frequently happens to me)! 🙂

Loving the simple micellar wipes! My skin is a happy camper when I use these 🙂
