These Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes? You need to get on these, babe. They popped up at Target a couple months ago. I think they’re pretty new to the beauty scene, but dang! — they’re great.
Each pack comes with 30 biodegradable, moistened cleansing towelettes, perfect for removing makeup, among other things.
I’m lovin’ the groovy blue and yellow packaging, the practical button closure (because it really sucks when your face wipes dry out, right?) and the appetizing coconut scent, which is making me crave a big piece of Hawaiian haupia (coconut pudding).
Mmm… Coconut water.
Oops! Had a little bit of drool there. 🙂
I’ve had some bomb-@ss coconut water in my day. The BEST was on a visit to the Philippines, just me and my mom, when I was 21. We stayed with family in Manila but drove out to the countryside one day to visit other relatives.
You know you aren’t in the Bay Area anymore when there are more chickens crossing the roads than people.
No, seriously. They’re everywhere. In the house my mom grew up in, you can literally look down through wooden slats in the living room floor and see…chickens!
That day was the first and only time I ever had lunch with my grandparents on my mom’s side. I remember massive amounts of food (because Filipino celebrations usually involve enough food to feed a small army), not understanding anything being discussed around me because everyone spoke a dialect I couldn’t understand, and the aforementioned bomb-@ass coconut water.
At the beginning of the meal, my auntie asked me if I wanted something to drink. I said “Yes, please,” and next thing I knew, there goes one of my cousins shimmying up a coconut tree right outside. A couple minutes later, my auntie hacked off the top of a young, green coconut with an over-sized zombie movie-style machete and poured the nommy coco-nutty ambrosia into a tall glass.
Like I said, best damned coconut water I’ve ever had.
I’ve read that coconut water is supposed to be a natural moisturizer, and it’s loaded with electrolytes. The wipes are pretty moisturizing, too.
The wipes also contain papaya (a natural exfoliate), and soothing aloe vera and calendula (marigold).
A few other details…
- They clean and remove all of my makeup without drying out my combination dry/oily skin or leaving behind a sticky film.
- So far, so good in the breakouts department. None to speak of so far.
- Unfortunately, they aren’t approved for use on eyes, so they shouldn’t be used to remove eye shadow, mascara, liner, etc. That’s kind of a big deal.
- The scent is like Lou Ferrigno strong! — so you should probably be a member of TEAM COCONUT 4EVA, or at least enjoy coconut fragrances.
They are both cruelty-free and vegan, so they get two big, leonine paws up from Tabs, and they’re made without sulfates, petroleum products, parabens, SLS or phthalates.

Hi Karen, I have had these for quite a while because who doesn’t love the smell of coconuts, right? But I have to say I don’t like them very much and I think they caused some break outs (although I am not entirely sure if it was because of the wipes or something else). But I agree that they smell great. Speaking of coconut water, have you tried the frozen Eddy’s coconut bars? They are super low in calories and come in different flavors. I tried coconut water with bananas and they are pretty yummy!

I love cleansing wipes. I’m just way too lazy to use face wash most of the time. I like the closure on these. The kind with a sticker opening often don’t close well after a few uses.
And yes, I haaaate dried out wipes. Bleurgh.

I never use facial wipes. Even the most gentle ones seem to irritate my skin 🙁

I use cleansing wipes fairly often, so it’s great to see that these are biodegradable. I’m hoping my local Tar-jay has them!
My husband makese this mixed drink called a Coconut Lemon Sour. It uses coconut water, coconut vodka and some lemon juice. Very yummy and refreshing on a warm day. 🙂

I used a pack of these, but have found i do best using the oil cleansing method, and not being able to use these near my eyes makes them useless for emergency cleanups I have (usually smeared up sad mascara).

These sound good, but I’m betting they will make my skin break out.

Oh my goodness – coconut anything sounds amazing but these seem extra incredible. I can imagine how refreshing these must feel! I never use face wipes to remove makeup but these might make me try it! Yum!

I’ve never met a facial wipe that removed makeup so .. it’s not a deal breaker for me.
