I’m somewhat like Goldilocks when it comes to face washes: this one is too foamy and dries out my skin, this one isn’t foamy enough (hellllo, are you there face wash? It’s me, Vonnie!), and, ahhh, the holy grail — this one is JUST RIGHT!
Well, I wanted to share my just right face wash with you all: Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser ($21).
Seriously, this is lush stuff! It starts as a cream in its hygienic bottle, but once squeezed out and mixed with water, it turns into a soft foam. There’s none of that tight skin feel after washing with this, and my skin feels soft DURING the wash as well as after!
I don’t know about the cleansers you’ve used, but with lots of the ones I’ve used my skin can feel like it’s trying to give me an impromptu facelift with how tight it can get! Not the case here. 🙂
I use my Clarisonic Face Brush with it because I find that the brush makes every face washing feel like a trip to the spa. Not to mention, I’m a frequent makeup wearer, and no matter which makeup remover or wipes I use, there’s always brown (foundation) on the brush’s head afterward, so obviously it’s giving me a deep cleanse and washing away the residue that I had no clue was even there!
See how clean this Clarisonic looks here?
You can see from the change in color what the Clarisonic/Korres combo removed…
Korres Milk Proteins Foaming Cream Cleanser is very nourishing, which is important for the coming colder months, and the bottle is quite large, too. It should last for months of daily use (5.07 ounce, and it only takes a dollop per wash). Socialite Approved!
Both products can be purchased at Sephora. 🙂

That looks exactly like my Clarisonic!=)
Thanks for the post, Vonnie! I haven’t tried anything Korres yet, but I’d really like to! Now I know what to start with!
vonnie says
Korres is seriously my favorite skincare line right now! The Thyme Honey Moisturizer is the best face cream I’ve ever used. Smells amazingly delicious and keeps my face moisturized for 24 hours 🙂

I use the foaming face wash and the tyme honey as well! my hg face combo! My fiance uses benzoyl peroxide and whenever we get “cuddly” my face breaks out in poison ivy type rashes, just from touching his face or pillows! The last time it happened I ran to ulta and found this and tried it. My rash was almost gone the next morning. Last time it took a week to go away, plus my face peeled. Since then I have been hooked on this moisturizer.
Good to see I am not the only one who adores their skincare! I will have to try it with a clarisinic next.

I don’t have the Clarisonic, but I’ve been wanting to try it out. Wow! It looks great! However, my skin is so sensitive that I’m afraid it would not be good for me. I’ll have to check out the Korres cleanser. They used one at Sephora one time to remove my foundation and it felt really nice. Thanks for sharing, Vonnie!
vonnie says
The clarisonic comes with different heads (normal, sensitive) so the sensitive would be great for you! I’ve used both and the sensitive is just majorly soft and gentle. you can rub it at the store, see how soft it is. Probably won’t irritate your face

I’m 62 and have dry and sensitive skin because I use Renove every other night. I have used the Clarisonic every night for over two years and have never had any problems. The key is, don’t try to scrub with the Clarisonic. Let the device do the work. Gently glide it over sections of your face per the instructions and you will have perfectly clean skin ready for any skin treatment products you usually apply. I find my treatment products and moisturizer sink right in leaving my skin soft, smooth, and hydrated.
I bought mine from Sephora during their FF event because of the 20% discount and Sephora’s easy return policy. Some people are concerned about the cost of replacement brushes, but don’t be. If you use the Clarisonic properly and take good care of the brush by rinsing it well and letting it dry without mashing the bristles, a brush will last you much longer than the directions say. And, once again, buy an extra brush or two during FF.

I’d love to know if you’ve ever tried Philosophy Purity (the original one) and if so, how does it compare?
vonnie says
I have tried the Purity and like the Korres better. It’s a bit creamier so I like that and it foams more than purity. My skin also feels softer after the Korres cleanser and more moisturized. Hope that helps!

I haven’t tried this but I love Korres White Tea gel cleanser! I should try this when I am traveling to places with freezing temperature come the winter months. 🙂
vonnie says
oooh, I’ve never seen the White Tea Gel cleanser! I may have to try that for spring 😀 Do you love it?
lexi says
I may have to try this after I finish my bottle of Purity…currently saving up for a Clarisonic!

I’ve already got my HG face wash (Dove bar soap for sensitive skin, holla), but this post is really making me consider a Clarisonic. I’ve been considering one for at least four months now, but now’s it’s serious, haha.
vonnie says
good luck on getting one! with the bar soap, you can foam it and put it on your face first, then use the brush since you can’t just sit a bar of soap on top of the brush and have at it 😉 I do like using it better with a cream or gel cleanser tho
Jamie says
I use a long-wearing foundation and the only way I can get it off is to pair my cleanser with my clarisonic. Unfortunately, it leaves the bristles filthy! What do you use to get them clean? I’ve been using clarifying shampoo to clean it, but I’m still looking for something a little more effective.
vonnie says
I clean it with antibacterial hand soap, that’s what clarisonic suggested when I asked them on twitter 🙂 Gets the bristles clean. Also, I try to keep it clean by not using it directly on my foundation; I use makeup wipes FIRST to at least get most of it gone and then the brush gets away the last traces. That way it’s not just like totally coated.

Great review! Your post definitely got me curious about this. I’ve been switching to natural skincare for the past few months, and this looks like a good candidate to replace my current cleanser. Thanks!
HanaBerlin says
I want this! Great review.
Caroline says
Oh, I like your nail polish!
I’ve always wondered how much of my make-up actually remains on my face after cleansing. Think I def need a brush a.s.a.p considering the amount of foundation I use.
vonnie says
Thank you; it’s Tropical Teal by Revlon.
Yes, the brush revealed to me that I was leaving loads behind apparently….no wonder my skin was always shoddy, lol! still had the days foundation on it!

I have terrible skin and persistent adult acne (and no insurance to see a dermatologist). I have heard great things about the Clarisonic but it’s just not in my budget. Do you happen to know of any lower-cost devices which work similarly? Also, great post!
Amber says
I had a hard time with adult acne (my skin was normal as a teen) until I started seeing a dermatologist (out of pocket, ugh — I was in debt for a while) and realized my skin needs cell turnover more often than it can do on its own. Do you have keratosis pilaris on your arms? I do, and I realized that may be a clue to my skin’s dysfunction.
I use an at-home peel and an OTC retinol product 3x a week. I use oil-based cleansers most of the week. Cold cream alone made a major improvement in my skin. Now I only have minor breakouts when I’m hormonal or severely stressed.
Mandy says
I don’t have KP but I will look into cold cream and oil-based cleansers. I have been avoiding oil in my face products because my skin is already oil, but I’ve heard that may do more damage. Thanks for the tips! I’m glad to hear this method worked out well for you. 🙂

Great Post!!

I like the cleansers that I’m using, but now I want a Clarisonic even more than I already did!
Maria says
WHOA! If i had a Clarisonic I think I’d say goodbye to my collection of mediocre makeup removers!
vonnie says
It’s very good at least in combo with those wimpy makeup removers 😉
Annette says
I’ve been using Philosophy Purity with my Clarisonic and it works ok. But I hate that it doesn’t lather. I feel like it’s not working if I don’t see lather, lol. I’m going to try this cleanser when I run out. It sounds great. I also love how I always see leftover foundation on my clarisonic brush when I’m done using it. Even if it did nothing else for my skin, that alone would make it worth it to me. It’s nice knowing I’m getting everything off my face. 🙂
vonnie says
I felt the same way, purity didn’t lather enough for me so I felt like it wasn’t on. That’s when I’d have the hellllllo, are you there? are you working? moments lol. Isn’t it fab to see the product come off in the brush? At least then you know that it’s working and the pores are getting cleaned out
Nina says
ohh this is making me rethink my clarisonic avoidance! 😀
korres products are great – so gentle on the skin! i <3 how it doesnt strip my skin when i use them.
hmmm… to clarisonic or not to clarisonic. 😀
Glosslizard says
I’ve also been using Purity, I love how it takes everything off in one go! How does the Korres work on toughies like waterproof mascara and eyeliner?
vonnie says
I actually don’t use any waterproof products, so I can’t weigh in on that. So sorry!
Kim says
I definitely need to check out a Clarisonic. I can’t be on board with the Korres cleanser, though. I know it’s odd, but bath products with milk in them skeeve me out. 🙁
My Funny Valentine says
Sigh, Korres is SO expensive in Australia.. I think your cleanser retails at bout $40 here.
My boyfriend will have to be my Korres mule when he goes overseas later in the year 🙂
