The hella dry skin, dark circles and fine lines that frequent the area under my eyes sure get on my nerves, but I’m hoping Korres’ new Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Antiwrinkle Eye Cream ($42) will help.
Korres bills it as an ultra-hydrating eye cream to combat wrinkles, increase skin elasticity and deflate puffy patches and the appearance of dark circles. It’s packed with antioxidant rich plant extracts like baobab, which supposedly maintains firm facial muscles to help keep the skin looking firm (hmm…); yeast, to improve microcirculation under the eyes and diminish the appearance of dark circles; rhodiola rosea, a cold climate plant used for centuries as a stress adaptogen (like ginseng), which in the cream supposedly reduces fluid buildup and consequently the dreaded puffy look; quercetin, an anti-inflammatory flavonol backed by clinical research (in this case used to reduce puffiness); and oak, which is said to improve skin cell functioning to repair fine lines and wrinkles.
The product is supposed to deliver visible results almost overnight. The company makes some pretty bold statements about how well it works…
“This advanced solution stimulates cell growth and protein synthesis within the first 24 hours. The resulting improvement in skin-cell functioning dramatically repairs fine lines and wrinkles.”
I just started using it, so I can’t say much yet about how well it delivers on its big promises, but I do like the texture and how moisturizing it feels. It’s very lightweight and, thankfully, not greasy at all. My nose also digs the delicate rose scent.
What it does NOT contain…
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan
My skin sucks this stuff right up, too. It definitely doesn’t seem to just be sitting on top of the problem, and it wears well beneath under-eye concealer.
If I detect any improvement in the problem areas it’s designed to improve, you’ll be the first to know (FINGERS CROSSED!). I’ll follow up with you about it soon. Available at Sephora stores and sephora.com.
Hope you’re having a great night. Are you doing anything fun? We rented the latest Star Trek again… I liked it enough to watch a few times. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Looks like I could give this cream a try too. Like Korres products. My current Lancome Renergie Morpholift eye cream is working fine but would love to try this. Curious about the Quercetin!

I hope this works out for you! I’ve just been using castor oil on my eyes at night. Which seems totally weird, but I started using it for eyelash growth and then just started putting it on my entire eyelid when I noticed how nice my skin was in the morning.
(For eyelash growth, the stuff works to a point (sparse areas filled in) but my eye lashes aren’t getting super long. They just seem healthy.)

I hope this one is a keeper – I just ran out of my Clarins (which seemed to be OK but didn’t do wonders for what it cost). I’m definitely ready to try something new!! 🙂
