If you were planning to pick up a dozen bottles of Dolce & Gabbana’s new Rose the One body products this month, I hate to break it to ya, but the Saks website says “No can do,” (in so many words).
Because of high demand, they’re limiting customers to just six (!) bottles of either the Body Lotion ($38 for 6.7oz) or Shower Gel ($38 for 6.7oz) every 30 days.
Yep, six bottles every 30 days.
Why anyone would need six bottles of this or any body lotion or shower gel is neither here nor there. 🙂
Both new products are scented with softened versions of the company’s Rose the One fragrance, with its notes of pink grapefruit, Mandarin orange, peach, lily of the valley, Bulgarian Rose, peony, geranium, plum, Ambrette seed, vanilla, amber and musk.
It’s a light fragrance — modern, youthful and fresh — and not heavy or matronly.
The Body Lotion feels thin, and while I usually prefer thicker creams, I like this reasonably hydrating, fast absorbing formula. It doesn’t leave a greasy residue, either, which is nice.
Even small amounts of the Shower Gel lather up into a good hunk of foam, and the product’s quite easy to rinse.
Because I love the scent, I’ve been using both body products, first the shower gel and then the lotion beneath my Rose the One Eau de Parfum Spray.
Now how do we get around that oppressive six bottle limit at Saks, LOL!? Not that anyone needs that many bottles, but I like the idea of women hoarding beauty products like squirrels hoarding food for the winter! 🙂

I must admit this baffles me a bit. Is it really going to be THAT much in demand? Although I’m slightly biased – I HATE rose. Love the original The One, though.

The OG version is hawt. It’s a good fall scent!

I’m baffled by the limit too. The scent sounds wonderful though.

I guess women really like the stuff!

Oooo this sounds so pretty. I always thought I wasn’t a fan of rose but lately I’ve been all over it. This sounds gorgeous.
Speaking of a rose scent I just got a sample from Luckyscent of Taur Perfumes Une Rose Vermeille that is just the most beautiful think I’ve ever smelled. The notes are lemon, bergamot, lavender, rose, raspberry, violet, vanilla, sandalwood, tonka bean, ambergris. I’ve had it on since about 8:45 this morning and it’s still going strong, but not STRONG if you know what I mean. It’s lingering like a warm caress on my wrists and every once in a while I get a soft whiff. It’s REALLY pricey, but I think I just might have to have a little bit of a talk with my credit card and let it know who’s boss around here and when I say “jump” it better say “how high?” and then” Ma’am,
yes Ma’am”! ;0)

Hi Lisa,
That scent sounds totally my style. I love me an elegant rose and citrus mix!
How’s your Friday going? Are you ready for the weekend?

the limited edition is THAT limited? 🙂
so curious about how this smells like … ive been on a perfume kick for a while now!
Karen says
Have you smelled the perfume? You know how sometimes rose scents can be heavy? This isn’t like it at all. Since you like Stella you’ll probably love this too!
Nina says
ohhhh stella is such a lovely, long wearing scent, and if this is similar then ill probly check it out! must not add it to sephora cart, nina! 😛

I don’t know about a $40 shower gel, but those bottles are really elegant and pretty. Really over-lux for such fleeting products.

I love the design of the bottles too… they’d look really pretty on a bathroom shelf.

There really are two Americas if this is an issue for people.

I LOVE D&G’s perfumes! Rose the One is definitely one of my favorites. So gonna buy the whole Rose the One body package though if it’s on sale…
Evelyn says
Gosh I love this perfume but I can’t imagine squirreling away so many bottles of wash & lotion! lol It seems though that I will have to at least invest in one or two. 🙂

I think it’s just a marketing ploy. 🙂 It’s like companies that take out trade ads with every product launch, apologizing for back-ordering their new product but it’s just been selling beyond their wildest forecasts. I’m on to you, D&G. 🙂
