Benefit’s moisturizing Bathina body balm (lucky girl that she is) just got a spring makeover.
Hey, now, don’t stare! Just “Take a Picture… It Lasts Longer…” — that’s actually the product’s name. And for $28 she flaunts updated packaging and a shimmery new color (a light golden pink).
I think it’s part of a beauty conspiracy… Have you heard the news? Benefit recently marked down the original Bathina (Body So Fine) from $30 to $22.50, an obvious ploy to prep us for the arrival of Bathina 2.0.
Speaking of the prequel, Body So Fine and I go waaay back. We have history, yo! My bestie, Jen, gifted me a tin for my 26th birthday, and I’ve been a fan ever since — the light floral fragrance and super softening balm adds a touch of sexy pink shimmer to legs and arms (great for date nights with the boy).
Luckily, the updated version’s just as fab as before (if not better). Benefit kept the same formula and fragrance but tweaked the shimmer. Instead of a silvery pink, the new Bathina gives skin a golden pink glow, one I wager more girls will be able to wear well.
They even cut down on the bulk by compactifying (a real word, honest) the packaging, making it better for overnight trips. Big thumbs up to Benefit for doing so because the big old tin was a pain in my you-know-what. 🙂
And how ’bout the cute girl on the tin? If ya happen to know where I can buy her butt, lemme know, LOL!
Bathina “Take a Picture…It Lasts Longer…” touches down early next month at Benefit.com and should debut on counters a couple weeks later.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Today felt like the Longest. Day. Ever! Is it Friday yet, LOL!? All I want to do now is curl up in front of the TV with a brownie, some ice cream and my Sex and the City DVDs. Can’t wait for this weekend ’cause I’m feeling kinda beat.
How’s it going out your way? I hope you had a good day. 🙂

I feel like just buying the tin (It’s a lot cuter/more youthful than the old one!) to store little things since I am too lazy to wear any body moisturizer…

I also have loved this balm for years! My family and I went to New York City and my mom bought me this as a souvenir when I was twelve! haha I still have my first tin too:)

It’s cute, but I can’t get myself to spend that much on a body balm. I’d rather purchase another Chanel glossimer! 🙂

When i first was introduced to the brand, I bought one because they looked so fun. I used pretty much all of it but didn’t really feel the need to repurchase it.
Happy Friday Eve! Hope you do get to relax this weekend. 🙂

Aw crud muffins, of all the scents this had to have, it had to be florals. I’m hideously allergic to all floral scents. It gives me and EPIC migraine. That and really fruity or foody scents. I found out today that me and That Gal! don’t mix. The raspberry scent, my skin and my nose don’t get along. Pretty, but not useful to the scent-hating nose. Thank God someone invented Benedryl.
My Thursday was okay. Zena pounced into my lower back this morning–which is where my back is curved inward more than normal–so my back hurt like h*ll for a good hour. I was two seconds away from killing her when she cocked her head to the left with her big ears sticking up so her ears bounced in the process. Why does that look always stop me dead in my tracks? Still, it was not fun. If I have two bruises in the shape of Zena’s paws on my back, I swear there will be lectures. Bruises on me last for months.
I made cupcakes for my parents (whipped frosting…blech). Of all the frosting choices my dad had to pick, it had to be WHIPPED. I hate whipped frosting. I like my Pillsbury regular white frosting. I can’t stand whipped frosting on anything.
Here’s something for you to giggle over–Zena hates rain to the point where she won’t go outside if the snow is melting off our roof creating a one inch veil of “rain.” I swear she has the IQ of a rock sometimes. She couldn’t figure out that it wasn’t raining past the dripping snow!

ooh! I loved Body So Fine! This new one looks more compact. I can totally appreciate golden shimmer as opposed to silver 😀

I have loved the body so fine for years and am glad they are just updating and not discontinuing. Your so right about the packaging it’s much better in a more travel-friendly size.

I’m tempted to get this just for the packaging, it’s too cute! But I think the price is too high for a body balm.

Oooh, I have been wanting to buy the previous version forever, and just never got around to it. I think the new version will finally inspire me to grab one. I like the new packaging – very cute!

My best friend has a birthday coming up … and I believe you have given me the purrfect gift idea for her. Shes a new mommy and I think deserves (and needs) all the pretty products I can give her. Thanks!
Thursday was awesome — once I resurrected myself from the pool of paperwork I was submerged in, Hubs and I had dinner out (3 for 20 @ Chili’s was a pretty good deal). Then we watched Fringe in bed, read a little bit and went to sleep.
Its Friday and im so excited! 😛
PS – If youre so inclined, the Harry Dresden books by Jim Butcher are awesome. Its about a wizard turned sort-of private investigator. Im lurving it!
Have a great weekend, Karen, El Hubs and Tabs!!!

I’m such a sucker for pretty packaging. This will definitely be used in summer if I get more dates with the boy 😉

I wanted to buy the old product, and the new one is even cuter. Yes, it’s expensive as a body balm, but I’m sure I’ll end up splurging on myself anyway. Doh.

this new one is cute, but the pinup girl on the other one was far more glamourous!

I just bought this! I’m super excited to try it out. 🙂 I kinda wish they would make one that didn’t have any fragrance to it. I love the smell of this one, but I feel like I shouldn’t mix the smell of this and my perfume in fear that the smells together wouldn’t smell right!
toni says
the newer one is too teenybopper-ish and would appeal more to 14, 15, 16 and 17 year olds as opposed to grown women. also, the girl is too cutesy( like sandra dee) whereas the girl on the older tin is a va-va voom bombshell 1950’s pinup like rita hayworth. the girl on the older tin is the epitome of old hollywood glamour. not to mention, there was ALOT more product! (and it’s still the same price)
